Why are people so pessimistic? There's a tread that basically confirms cockpit view for all cars. The New Interview from MeriStation Explains Difference between Standard and Premium Tread. People stop assuming things.

No actual evidence, just what we hoped for before we heard from KY.

hmmm what is to say that your assuming that article is right? Lots of speculation and rumour on here.

It's what gtplanet is about.

Well all this speculation is too negative. After all the positive info we got 2 days ago, nearly everyone is going crazy over some aspect of the game. How many tracks, is there cockpit? etc. I know that we're all excited that the release is so close, but come on!

This first line says it all for me.

We’re making Honda HSV now but may not be in time for GT5.

I've always believed that Gran Turismo 5 would not be a stand alone game. It would evolve over time with DLC. Tracks, cars, music, spec updates, tuner parts, and additional online features.

Who knows, maybe PD will get around to providing interior views on all the cars. Through additional DLC.

and finally to borrow a line from Famine......." not to steal any thunder from the TGS..."
I'm sure there's a few more secrets up Kaz's sleeve. Just look at his grin.

I think he was speaking sarcastically when mentions the PSP black frames.

Sounded sarcastically to me as well, like would you like all the interiors to be blacked out?
If this was actually the case he could just simply confirm it I guess, seems he likes to hold some cards to his chest on this one.

And I have to say ( as someone rather worried about possible exclusion of interior view ) this made me laugh a bit and gave me hope again.
It's like saying, come on people, you know better ( at least I hope that's what he meant ).:)

IGN or Gamespot said that on gamescom there will be big reveal of GT5.

HE STILL HIDES THINGS FROM US.

And it's so funny that emo kids are crying all over 3 sentences from Kaz who doesn't answered to question...

CRY ON EMO !

I think that is very possible. We all know Kaz is a perfectionist, and he knows we know that. I think maybe he was trying to say "C'mon, do you really think I would put in 800 cars with no interior view?" And the sarcastic-ness of it got lost in translation.

Here I took a pic of the BMW 135i from Prologue of the Video from the News Section where they show all the Cars in the E3 Demo , and it says Premium ! not 100% visible on the pic but watch the video and you'll notice it... :(

Since that car was in GT5p we can assume that all cars with cockpit view in GT5p will be considered premium cars in GT5.

Noooooo....GT5P has Ferraris. And we know Ferrari isn't too thrilled about their cars betting destroyed in video games, and since Premium cars will have a full damage model, it's safer to assume that the Ferraris will be Standard.

If all of GT5p's cars are premium than why did they give us almost half of them in prologue years before. They are sabotaging their own game by not showing us what cars really constitute GT5.

If true we have very little premium cars left, and the potential impact they possibly could have had negated. 👎

Kotaku describes the Enzo is the real deal, while a Mustang is still a Mustang.
Still think Ferrari's will be standard?

Wait, wait, wait. If the "standard" cars are supposed to have no interior view, then the windows would be blacked out right? Ok, then look at :10 of the video showing all the cars available at the E3 demo. The windows of the orange Challenger are definitely not blacked out. And to confirm the Challenger is a standard car, here is a quote from the GTP news page.

Despite the nomenclature, they still look great – all of the classic “muscle cars” we saw in the latest batch of screenshots are all “standard”. However, according to the article, standard cars “won’t have interiors”.

*shrug* sounds like to me that all the cars have interiors and that some got special treatment because...well, let's face it, you'd give ferrari and Maserati special treatment, too.

Maybe the "Standard" and "Premium" also applies to the cockpits as well. Maybe cars like Ferraris will have a high-res interior and cars like the mustang won't, yet the Mustang can get damaged and the Enzo won't.

But it more sounds like. "Yeah, we modeled the Enzo's interior after the real one, because it's an enzo, but we while, we did modeled the Mustnag's interior as well, it's just a Mustang."

You have it backwards, I think. We know that all cars will have damage. So whether ferrari wants damage on their cars or not doesn't matter anymore.

Ummm, yeah.

But Jordan specifically said the cars in the screenshots are all standard, and you can see through all the windows, showing the rumored non-existent interior. :odd: I think we will have 1000 interiors by November.

All of those demo cars are PREMIUM models.

Ummm, yeah.

No. Premium cars will have a form deformation damage model like in GRID (only better)

Standard cars will get dents and scratches like in Forza 3.

Right, dents and scratches are still damage. So whether ferrari likes it or not, they must not care since they agreed, all their cars will have damage.
I don't see ALL ferrari cars being STANDARD.

All cars that are 'premium' I think are either going to be road cars, or race cars. Most of them are race cars, and will be fully destructible. The road cars obviously won't be destroyed, but the race cars will, thus premium cars are split in two versions

OMG sooo much confusion. I'm just going to accept the worst and save myself from huge dissapointment when the game releases. I'll be upset yes but not as much as it were to be a surprise. What they need to do to confirm is show us a standard car with images and/or gameplay. This cockpit discussion needs to die. It's really terrible seeing it in almost every thread.

You can damage Ferraris in games like Forza 2/3 or Ferrari Challenge. Damage could be more limited than on other cars.

I've always thought GT5P cars are "Premium". Didn't KY once say they gave us all they had ready with GT5P?

And to confirm the Challenger is a standard car, here is a quote from the GTP news page.
All cars available in the E3 demo are called "Premium" in the menu.

I agree, I guess.

Ok, maybe the demo video was a bad example, so forget I said that. Focus on the screenshots and that news article. Either Jordan was mistaken about the muscle cars being standard, or we do in fact have cockpits for standard cars.

(Or at least they appear to have cockpits from the outside)
