US:
The massive lineup of cars from past Gran Turismo games has been beautifully recreated through the latest technology and the Playstation 3’s cutting-edge graphics.

Gran Turismo 5 feature an astounding 800+ cars, a vast collection covering a wide range of eras and categories.

Japan:
Gran Turismo" with their huge number of cars included in the series, "PlayStation 3" and the current technology, what more beautiful reproduction of this car "standard" is.

収録台数は、なんと800車種以上。 The recording volume, how over 800 models. 幅広い年代、さまざまなカテゴリーから選べるバリエーションの豊富さが、“スタンダードカー”最大の魅力といえるでしょう。 Age range, the richness of variety to choose from different categories, "Standard Car" will say the biggest attraction.

※“スタンダードカー”はインテリア視点に対応していません。 ※ "Standard Car" does not correspond to the interior view.

I cant see where it says NO COCKPIT VIEW..?

I did notice all the muscle cars were from GT4, none from the demo, all had tinted windows, as the Alpine and the Alfa...

I don't see a "Standard cars don't have interiors" thing anywhere

Yeah, I ran the JP page through google chrome translate, and it didn't have that line anywhere either.

Once again, back to where we started. This was a good test of how many people actually care about the racing, and how many just want the looks.

I play the game to have fun.

If I want 100% realism, I go get into my track-prepped MR2 and spend a weekend flogging it. NO sim game can recreate the feeling of G-forces, wind, the odd gravel on the road being transmitted up through your steering wheel..

Therefore, by your logic, NO racing game should be played, ever.

yeah, let me just go buy a track car, pay for tires and fuel, pay for track time, and go race.

Oh wait, I don't have that kind of money, so I play racing games that purport to be "realistic" but then I have to drive from the roof.

Such is life I suppose.

The word in the box translated into "Standard car does not correspond with cockpit view" (according to Google Translate)

Not long ago, didn't people here compare that GT5 would the GT3 on PS3 (new everything but scaled back on quantity of cars compared to GT2, this time seems like PD just wanted to push it a little farther and deliver more cars along with the tech overhaul, I can live with that and hope you guys can too).

Anyway, on the GT US site, the part where it details the damage system and roll-over:

* Damage is not necessarily applied to all races in the game.

Translation to laymans terms please.

You know what, why don't you get of your high horse and shove it. :)

I didn't wait five years just to have 80 percent of the cars look exactly like they did in GT4! :banghead:

Damn this update on the official site is better than anything we got out of E3. They explain everything so well, even the damage.

They don't..

Did you even watch the video on the page before spouting off that they look like GT4?

It actually sounds like the Premium cars are going to have very awesome detailing in the interiors down to the last stitch in the leather. while the Standard cars won't have NEARLY as much detail.

What is said is - "Standard Car" does not correspond to the interior view.

What is meant is - ???

Result - Google needs better translator, once we get a proper translation THEN and ONLY THEN will we be able to settle this once and for all

It's going to look really dodgy with both premium
and standard cars racing each other. We have already seen 70 premium cars in prologue. So they have only made 130 extra cars:(

I will still buy, as most racers only have like 20 cars anyway.

Just abit dissapointes

If I had been waiting 2-3 years for this game I would not be all that disappointed. But 5 years... yeah, I think being disappointed is pretty reasonable. I very grateful for all the other features PD has added, but to me this is still a major let down. Not deal breaking but a major let down.

It's on the US and GB sites too now, no translation errors.

Where exactly? I read the US article just now and never really saw those words.

It just says the Premium cars will have intricate interiors, it still never says that the standard cars won't have an interior view.

Read it on the us or uk site then.

It's pretty clear guys, no confirmation, blacked out windows, making a big deal about cockpit view on premium models, kaz asked if we would like a black overlay on standard models. No use trying to deny it.

Or to race in bumper cam. I didnt buy prologue to do that either, furthermore Prologue as a definition means a taste of what is to come, a preview, appetizer.

GT is not only about racing its about cars, and the players arent all about racing, their about cars, steering wheels, seats, dash guages, all that car porn that we've come to downright EXPECT because of Prologue.

I been waiting SO LONG to see those Group B cockpits those LMP's hell even an old FC. Too long.

The point here is It doesn't exsist on the US and UK sites

I wouldn't mind the cockpit view but the cars from the outside look like GT4 and the sound noooooooooooooooooooooo
