I just had a really bad dream where 4/5ths of the cars in GT5 were upscaled GT4/GTPSP cars with no interior....

Official site shows difference between premium and standard, plus other details, lots of pics and some movies - 7 pages of it - use Google to translate

Tyre temps
By reviewing tire structures down from the simulation level, the surface temperature of tires have been simulated. Starting from figuring out the principle of why smoke is produced in the first place, we have succeeded in producing realistic tire smoke just like that of a real car..

lighting, effects and collisions - why didn't the trailer show this stuff?????

Physical damage to the calculation
It is the physical damage and affect the deviation of the alignment simulation. The damage may affect the operation, which stopped running straight, and is not stable in the corner to express a variety of symptoms depending on the amount of damage. On all models.

Dent scratches dirty
The damage can be recognized visually, and scratches and dirt adhere to the body, then get depressed sometimes. On all models.

Deformation of the panel gap
Body depressed sometimes, misaligned body panels are formed, the damage to such distortion. Only affect the premium car.

Use the UK or US site for better wording.

Even without cockpit view the game is going to be incredible with track days with 16 players, and so many cars. I was disappointed yesterday about the cockpits, but looking at that video with all those GT cars from the past, made me not care.

Apparently they've deleted the link to the supposedly old GTHD video on the US info page: http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/news/d5247.html

What you get now is this page: http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/gallery/d5258.html

I still believe that interior view and cockpit view are two different things. And regarding KY's quote on Twitter:

KY: Regarding interior view…do you mean you would want a black frame interior view?

KY: By blackframe, I meant same as in PSP (re: cockpit view)

KY: In that case, it would be technically possible.

From what I can surmise from not knowing what the actual question was that someone could've have pointed out if the standard car in GT5 would have the black framed PSP cockpit view. And as with often the case with the translation between the question in English and what KY might have understood in Japanese is that person prefer the darkened simpler PSP cockpit view- would became could. At the end of the "same as PSP (re: cockpit view)" there's actually a question mark. That's why the next tweet was: "In that case, it would be technically possible." Meaning that it could be done. But anyone familiar with KY's past interview, it's his nice way of saying "that's not what we're doing."

Personally I still believe that there will be cockpit view in almost all the cars. Some prototypes might not have one and who knows some might even have the simple black frame like the PSP. But the majority of car will have the kind of cockpit view seen in GT5 Prologue while over 200 (the number is climbing) will have the more detailed interior.

Of course, I could be wrong.

I just realised that the site says the 800 cars are made up of ALL the cars from the previous GT games. So...Plymouth GTX, Renault Espace F1, Dodge Concept Car, Vector...Dodge Viper RT/10? All making a return, I hope.

Maybe by the "The number of tracks hasn't been nailed down yet" comment, they meant they are doing the same to the tracks. Perhaps the 20 tracks and 70 variations means 20 Premium tracks that have the same level of detail that the premium cars do. And maybe the rest of the "Standard" tracks don't have things like debris kick up and stuff.

Probably only PS2 era games. Although I would love to see a lot of the GT2 cars again :) (Vectorrrrrr)

so gt5 will include
-200cars
-20tracks+70 variations!!
-damage in all 200cars.
-Cockpit view for all 200cars
-16cars and more in game.
-16-32 online-players.
I'm fine with this!!

OK to sum things up - no interior view for 800+ cars and these 800+ cars look worse than 200+ premium cars. We just have to live with it. Maybe the number goes to 300 until November ? :/

BUT ON the other topic - nobody noticed how they used (on Japanese page too) 3 WORDS to describe tracks - TRACK , LOCATION , LAYOUT - now I'm confused :D

I almost feel like that rollover video confirms STATIC GRID starts

in second 3 the cars are stopped as the front car turns it's lights on( assuming ready to start) :)

After 5 years of wait, I hate to sound selfish and needy, but to me I find it upsetting. Not enough for me to not get GT5, but enough for me to honestly feel disappointment.

I'm not, 200 cars is way too less, I was looking forward to drive so many cars that were already in GT4 with GT5 quality graphics, that really blows.

Why don't they just bundle GT4 with GT5 because it would be the same thing. :indiff: I'd be fine with just 200+ cars in Prologue quality.

Hey guys I just posted this in a thread that got locked :-) ... Here is what I think, and I have hi hopes

Can we please not jump to any conclusion just yet ? I mean here is my rationale:

1. KY is very secretive and always has an element of surprise kept for last minute.

2. It is not mentioned that the standard cars will not have interior view ! it is mentioned and I quote "From the seductive curves of exotic sports cars, to the inviting sight of the road ahead when you slide into the driver’s seat and peer past the glass, down to the intricately detailed instrument panel and dashboard... Every one of the over 200 premium cars recreate every last detail of the car, inside and out." (http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/news/d5247.html) - So what this means is that the interior for the premium level cars are just much more detailed than standards ones ! I mean if we get the level of interior as we get in NFS Shift or GRID which is basic compared to the Premium cars , it is good enough.

3. If the site wanted to mention that there is no interior view, it would have been clearly stated as it it with the case of High and Low beam headlight option.

Here it is:

"Gran Turismo 5, cars have fully-functioning headlights. Premium cars even feature both low and high beams for a variety of racing conditions.
Premium cars: Headlights with high beams and low beams
Standard cars: Standard lights only" (same source as above)

So I do not think we should be jumping ahead of time and drawing unnecessary conclusions just yet.

Again, please read the info carefully:

"The quality of the premium level cars is of course the intricate modeling of every tiny detail of not only the exterior, but the interior as well. No other game offers this level of ultra-high detail." (Same source)

I almost feel like that rollover video confirms STATIC GRID starts

in second 3 the cars are stopped as the front car turns it's lights on( assuming ready to start) :)

This was kind off confirmed when the race introduction screen said something like '5 laps / rolling start' on the demo builds.

It would be nice if we could play with the lights ourselves during the race opening :)

Hey, if you all don't like what you see or hear or read, then why don't just not buy it or maybe stop posting here. It'll leave the track open for the rest of us.

The damage video also confirmed lapping lights. That is: the lights that faster cars flash to warn slower cars that they're coming by.

Read the last couple of pages in this thread youre missing something...

I say the same thing, I am actually really excited for the game. Looks great, how many times do i actually use the cockpit view? rarely im just thinking it as an extra. You guys are over reacting imo. The game is going to be great.
