I'd rather the LP400 be the Premium since it's a purer design, but since that won't happen... hmmm, maybe.

The shake-ups in the auto industry since GT4 makes for some interesting speculation. I might be wrong on the timeline, but we got Astons in Prologue, right? But they were modelled and included before the sale was finalized? Because it was very odd to have the entire marque taken out of PSP.

Saab should have a better chance of being included considering Spyker, and Volvo now being owned by Geely makes things interesting. Maybe we'll actually see an up-to-date Fiat lineup since they've went from teetering on the brink of bankruptcy to being a major power player in the industry. Interesting...

What about Jaguar and Land Rover? They're owned by the Indian company Tata, now. I guess the only good part about the industry changes is that Hummer's gone...forever. YAY!

When I first wrote it, I wrote it normally. Then I wanted to be funny so I edited the post and used the Top Gear pun.

What do you think about my Countach claim? Don't you think the 25th anniversary model will be premium? Obviously it's an iconic car and it seems they would add the more exciting car (25th) into the premium category and leave the other for the standard pile (LP 400).

Ill throw some beans into that hope bucket.

But is anyone else disappointed that the Lancia Stratos is a STANDARD car?

You chose the right path :D ..

Your claim: I would just rather have any countach instead of a gallardo. Ive had constant hate for that car ever since I saw it. It looks really bad in my opinion (Although the newer LP-570's don't look as bad), It would be a shame to see the countach not included (Premium) but the gallardo included.

I wonder if PD will notice they got the wheels slightly wrong on some of the Cup cars.

#24 Chevrolet, get close to left front wheel to see the Hendrick 5-24-48-88 team decal ...
http://www.gtpla.net/wp-content/upl...Gordon_24_DuPont_CHEVROLET_IMPALA_73Front.jpg

... also seen on the #48 Chevrolet ...

... but not the #88 Chevrolet.

That Hendrick team 5-24-48-88 decal shouldn't be on the wheels of the #99 Roush Ford ...
http://www.gtpla.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/2010_Carl_Edwards_99_Aflac_FORD_FUSION_73UpFront.jpg

... or the #83 Red Bull Toyota.
http://www.gtpla.net/wp-content/upl...ickers_83_Red_Bull_TOYOTA_CAMRY_73UpFront.jpg

They got the #42 Ganassi Chevrolet correct, and there are no similar decals visible on the Gibbs cars (#18 & #20) or the Stewart-Haas #14 (all Chevrolets).

So many details to get right in any software this complicated, I don't envy the testing crew.

Yea, it doesn't make sense for one of them NOT to be. And in that case, it would be the 25th anniversary model which will be premium since the GT site shows the LP 400 as standard.

Edit: I misread what you wrote. I came off defensive lol. Oops.

Watch the video and you can clearly see that these are reflections, the glass is still there.

Yea when you slow down the video it is definitely a reflection moving across glass.

While I was looking though... I thought I would grab a couple other cool shots.

After going through portions of that video frame by frame, I have come away with a lot more hope and appreciation for GT5's damage model. Just don't understand why we haven't seen this in the demo's. Maybe they are truly old builds.

*waits on Gamescom*

Nice pics. Looks like there was some pretty accurate damage to the other NASCAR as well. Although, the dent on Gordon's car seems like it's in the wrong spot, but it's still pretty awesome. Also, it seems that the damage model shown in that video is only the dents and dings model. As if it was the super accurate, full deformation, then that NASCAR would be in pieces. I mean, Everytime I see a NASCAR get hit like that, it does more than just put a dent on both cars.

The wing is actually coming off that Lexus. Awesome.

Not so sure. My capture method sucks. So, it may be hard to tell, but I was watching for damage on the wing while doing it and I couldn't definitively say.

Let's hope though. 👍 (and side mirrors breaking off)

Y'know, the video went by so fast and the editing was so quick, I was initially disappointed at the level of damage we've been shown. The Evo that moves in slow-mo, for whatever reason, didn't seem all that impressive either.

Thanks for the stills though; it's a lot more clear what kind of damage we can expect, and it's encouraging. Impressive 👍

This is the windshield/window manufacturer's information that you can see on all glass of every car in the streets... even PD is putting that details into their car design...

Next time you are in a real car, you will notice it ;).
hahahaha......thanks:tup:

Those previous caps were actually from the often-forgotten "action trailer" that was released after the official E3 trailer.

But as far as the Evo... It is a bit of a mystery why they chose that shot. Unless they are wanting to show what impact on one side can do to the other. Such as making the headlight almost pop out. (or am I seeing things)

^ That result is whack (not desirable), from what I've seen (all footage).

If there isn't matching mechanical damage (to make it at feel a bit more real), I'll be disappointed.

The NASCAR example looks excellent, that Mitsu example is rubbish.

On that note, I was wondering from this PSP intro movie, there was the Countach easily seen, but in two parts it looks like there is a 1997 style Lamborghini Diablo (with the pop up headlights). I havent played GTPSP so I'm unaware if there is a Diablo in there. Was just wondering (and hoping) the late 90's Diablo will be in.

The Diablo should definitely be in GT5.

Not sure what to think about this trailer really. It surely shows some nicely crumpled metal:

Impressive stuff.

However, in all crashes it's painfully obvious that cars are not deforming as much as they should. Not even close. Specially if you consider one of OPM's latest quotes that "newer models will near-disintegrate". I'm wondering if this is another case of "IRL coming to GT5" or if PD is once again not showing us the whole picture.

^^^ Holy crap!
Anyway it's (damage) far better (realistic) than in other games.Especially when we know that PD are all about quality and realism.

Unless cars can be wrecked like you can see on www.wreckedexotics.com I wouldn't consider damage in GT5 (or in any other existing game) realistic yet.

The tyres don't grip like they used to. Didn't you hear all the complaining about how the cars felt like driving on ice with the 370z in the Time Trial?
And that had R1 tyres. Different from GT5 prologue as well

You couldn't get the car to behave like this in GT4 even with N1 tyres on a typical moderately powered FR car! This car used R1s.... just floor it out of a turn and the car snaps sideways. GT4 had arcadey style grip, so control pad users could drive the cars. Pro physics in GT5 will be pretty much unplayable with a pad with powerful cars
You can actually steer the car with the throttle with the new physics, but it isn't easy to pull off

More than driving realism I was referring to the actual tyre type cars come with when you acquire them in GT.
For example, I would expect a Suzuki Wagon R or any other minivan/econobox to come with N1 tyres.
Sports cars like Nissan Silvia, Mazda RX7, Honda NSX, etc, would come with N3 tyres.
Saloons/wagons or other medium-class cars (Volvos, standard BMWs, etc) would have N2 tyres.
Cars almost ready for racing but still road legal like some Ferraris, Porsche GT3 (if they're in the game) or some special supercar, etc, would have S tyres (Semi-slick tyres)... maybe S1 or S2
Racing cars (not road legal) would come with R tyres.

Up to GT4 (again, I don't know if this has been changed in GT5Prologue. It had in GTTT, but with one car it's hard to say if it will be the standard practice in the final game), standard tyres were S ones for road cars, R ones for race cars. So as default, most cars, especially cheap ones, had excessive grip in most situations. For a more realistic driving experience I remember fitting N tyres to most of my cars, but this "worked" only on time trials, because the CPU still used standard S tyres in most races involving road cars.

Man I swear you wrong. At least you don't understand what I'm talking about.
There is NO WAY to make game 100% "realistic" and there is no need in that.Question is not in that.
What I mean by realistic is - replicate at highest level possible in current conditions. (PS3, money, time)
I mean it's stupid to compare $25.000.000 Ferrari simulator with GT5.
And do you hear about damage restrictions by manufacturers?

By that terms GT is MOST REALISTIC driving experience out there. If not the only.Other driving games are not about experience...

Nobody races in sport or street tyres in real life. Everyone uses slicks, R1-R2. Only on track days do they use street/sport tyres
Even in production car racing categories they use slicks

The grip gap between S tyres and R tyres is pretty big in Prologue. There is a big jump between S3 and R1, and likewise between N3 and S1
But the differences between each type of tyre in each catergory is not that big

Actually, if I'd get my way, they would lose the system they had in GT4, where you had to buy every set of tyres for each individual car you had. It was really tiresome (pardon the pun!).

It would be nice, if you could buy some kind of a tyre deal in GT5, which allows you to use all kinds of tyre for all cars.
