Not sure if anyone have already noticed this but on the picture below you can see that formula 1 car in the back have obvious wheel covers, just like the Ferrari F2008. Could this mean that we will get both Ferrari F2007 and F2008?

The F2008 isn't the only Ferrari F1 car with wheel covers so I wouldnt make such an assumption. Besides, the F2008 is abit more radical on the nose so as far as I see, that GT5 picture you show is just an F2007 with Wheel covers, nothing more.

Isn't it just another F2007?

Could you explain to me how the addition of wheel covers somehow makes the Scuderia Ferrari F2007 a 2008 car? Because that sounds like a pretty insane statement to make.

Here is it: The F2007 was not using the wheel covers, F2008 did and the early model of F2008 is almost identical to the late F2007 in terms of aerodynamics.

Here is comparsion:

The F2007 on the picture is early version without the fins on the front, just try to compare GT5P F2007 with the early F2008
The difference is there of course, but they're similar. You can't just take wheel covers from one car and mount it to another

The funny thing in F1 is, teams develop their cars over the course of a season.

Back in 2007 the wheel rims were not homologated like they are now. Therefore, Ferrari could have updated the F2007 by adding wheel covers. The F2007 refers to the chassis, not the car.

PD will have modelled an F2007 with the latest aerodynamic package, which may well have included wheel covers.

EDIT: The Brazil GP spec F2007 had wheel covers:

The F2008 had an updated aero package from the start of the season, with a different front wing. This is an F2007.

Looks like Ferrari pulled a Porsche with their F1 cars. I think externally, all they changed were the rims. They took off the cool looking rims and gave it matchbox rims instead. Now it looks like someting a 4 year old would race around his bedroom.

That's generally and somewhat the case with every team when there haven't been any regulation changes for a few years. Don't get me wrong, there cars are still vastly different underneath but the aerodynamics generally follow the same philosophy. Why change what you're doing if it gets the job done?

Prehaps the car got updated to its most recent spec, which as Seismica mentioned, was the Brazilian GP spec including the Wheel covers. ALso, you do relize the purpose of those wheel covers, right?

i hate it that they are holding a lot of things for Gt6

Exactly, how do you know this? Where has it been said that they are holding things for GT6?

What exactly is PD holding back for GT6? If you know something, tell us.

the other cars that was promised before that will be part of the game like hsv and LFA, live editor for cars and cockpit view for all cars and full damage

Again, how do you know they are just holding them back and not that they just couldn't get those to work or finished in time for GT5?

Exactly, i guess he forgot about spec updates like in Prologue and PSN DLC

They didn't change the wheels. They have no authority to do so. They simply put wheel covers over them which changes the way they look. But more importantly, obviously they're not there for appearance. A few other teams copied Ferrari with this, like Renault for example, before it was outlawed.

It's no secret that the Track Creator was never meant to be in GT5 and that they were going to wait til GT6 to give it to us. Why wouldn't they have more things that they are holding for GT6? Livery editor is one of my guesses. I'm not sure about any cars but I'm sure every car they finish before GT5, will be in GT5.

Where did you get that idea?

It's karting they were creating for GT6, that's the thing that they put into GT5 after the leak.

Dope, you're right. It still doesn't change anything I said.

The track creator was rumoured all the way back last year so it was very likely intended for GT5. Maybe there's a chance for a more custom track creator in GT6 a few years down the road.

My question wasn't regarding simply holding anything for GT6, it was regarding holding back the LF-A & the HSV-010 in particular.

PD, will you use some GT3 models (that never made it to GT4) as Standard cars please?

Like the Toyota GT-ONE Road Car...

Or the Ford GT40...

Maybe the 328ci too? 💡
