Just wanted to mention to you guys that you need to be polite when pushing people out of this thread and into the wishlist threads...

I see your point, but you (that's people in general) can push people out politely, that's all Kent is saying.

I see some kind of trend here. :dunce: :sly:

Fact of the matter is that people do need to be polite when correcting a mis-placed post.
Beyond that, it is also important to recognize that with no wish-list on the board, this thread is in fact, nearly the perfect spot.

After all, this is a thread about the cars of GT5.
There just isn't another thread for that topic on this forum (wish list or not).

With that in mind, don't be suprised when people come to this thread to mention their wishes and certainly don't be rude when trying to redirect an individual's efforts.
(which, btw, a redirection is fine, I'm not saying to let them post in here... I'm just saying to be polite about it or eventually the redirection will become the offense and the wishlist post will become the offended)

No, this thread is not even close to "nearly" the perfect spot. Especially when the title says "NOT A WISHLIST".

The better question is not whether or not people should be posting wishes here, it's why was the Wish List thread 4.0 locked?

Just so you know another car should be added to this list: The Xanavi Nismo Fairlady Z (Super GT) (Year model unknown) It was in an article on IGN.com

It may be a Japanese Game, but it is sold to a world market, and no one including Polyphony Digital can overlook the fact that according to their site the GT series has sold 9 mil units in the Asian market, compared to almost 38 mil in the European and North American. It isn't that we won't buy it if it doesn't have more 'foreign' cars, but it sure might help to expand their already largest market.:)

A link would help, I can't find it.

I'm curious, can you list all the console driving games that have more non Japanese cars in them then GT4?

Don't let the ratio fool you. One of the appealing things about GT4 is that it offers more cars from other countries besides Japan than any other console game out there.

Do I wish it had even more? You bet, but lets keep it all in perspective.

UPDATE:

Polyphony has released a list of new cars, and even manufacturers, for GT5.

Mostly old Japanese metal.

1965 Hino Contessa 1300 Coupe
1972 Honda Civic 1200RS
1975 Mazda Cosmo AP Limited
1968 Mazda Familia Rotary Coupe
1969 Mazda Luca Rotary Coupe
1968 Nissan (Prince) R380-II
1969 Nissan Fairlady Z 432
1972 Nissan Laurel HT2000SGX
1967 Subaru 1000
1971 Suzuki Fronte Coupe GX
1977 Toyota Celica Coupe GT
1968 Toyota Crown Hardtop SL
1978 Toyota Starlet 1300S

Bah it's April second here and I let my guard down. :(

Now I'm dissapointed.

Not saying a wish list or anything,:scared:

but do any of u guy's know whether PD will be introducing a wider variety of BMW's, Merc's and Audi's:odd:

although they did have some of the older cars in GT4.:odd: They didn't have that many. i mean will they have like the Old DTM versions of the BMW and Mercedes and the old Bat-mobile CSL.:)

I have tried searching all over the place and i can't find a thing on GT5 that is up to date and factual. Most of it is a load of journalists guessing as they should do, because every thing is behind curtains.:ouch:

All we know is what's there. If any more are confirmed, they'll be posted in here.
I should imagine they will though, the PS3's capability will allow for soooo much more vehicles, they can't not, really.

boy i cant wait until they release the first list showing what cars will be in GT5....i remember seeing the list for GT4, there were some cars on it that surprised me that were gonna be in GT4, like the Pontiac Vibe and the Chevy SSR. and when the final, whole list surfaces, thats gonna be the ultimate day (of course the day the game is released will be above the ultimate day, but thats beside the point)

It's kind of an odd question, considering no one cares about small Fords, but does anyone know if there will be Ford Escorts, Contours, Aspires, Fiestas, Festivas, or Focuses in the next Gran Turismo???:nervous:

I really like Escorts & Focuses!

What we know about is all in the first post.

I've been playing a bunch of different racing games lately and they all had some nice cars to pick from, especially in PGR2.
Well it got me thinking and eventually I started downloading movies with these awesome cars... Best Motoring's "Best 12 Cylinder" and "F50 vs F355" etc etc.

So I come here to check on the Ferrari line-up (as I've already accepted defeat on getting a Lambo in GT5).

Just now when I got here I found two Ferraris (much better than none). However, I'd really like to see GT5 include more.

Can anyone tell me about the chances of seeing a F355, F40, F50, and Enzo in GT5?
I'd love to see them in there but I'm not expecting it.

So, with that said, what is the news on Ferrari in GT5, can we expect more than just the 599 and 430? (not that I would be disappointed with just those)

Still far, far too early to tell, so it could pretty much be a lottery.

I'd be least surprised to see people's favourites though, i.e F40, possibly 360 etc.

I'm glad to hear that said. 👍
Of course, I'd rather not see the 360 in the game. 👎
With the 430 there already, I'd rather see the 355 than the 360.
Let's hope they do it right. 👍

Oh no you didn't! :embarrassed:

I'd pootle in it.

But the Ferrari's could potentially shake up the Gran Turismo car hierarchy and lead to some fantastic events.

Having played the Gran turismo HD game, i wasn't that impressed with the ferrari engine note. It sounds like some one blowing raspberries through a straw:tup:! Do you know if that is its engine note?

oh and do you have any idea whethe there will be more SUV's on GT5, and cars like the new M3

Don't get me wrong, I like the 360 but it's basically a less dominating 430. With the 430 in the game there would be little reason for a 360. That said, and knowing PD's usual practice, I'd say we can count on a 360 and a 430 being in the game.

It should be interesting to see how Ferrari's pressence in the game works out. I have a feeling they will either bring much needed super car MR style to the game or they will leave all of us wondering how the stock R34 could be so amazing in every PD creation. :ouch:

As for GTHD and the Ferrari engine note... I've never heard it and I hope to do so soon. 👍
Don't be suprised if GTHD is slightly different from what you hear and see in GT5 (hopefully since Noremac says the Ferrari sounds bad). Personally, with the attention PD gave engine notes in GT4, I would be suprised if the Ferraris ended up sounding bad.
(my opinion of GT4's engine sounds is based on my experience with the various NFS titles, PGRs, and Forza)

When the game does come out and i have enough Credits for a ferrari, i am going straight for a 599 GTB Fiorano and tunning it up just like the Hamann 599 GTB Fiorano and getting straight on to a track that is suitable for drifting it.:)
