Hi.
I have the old PS3 Fat, and I am having quite a bit of screen tearing in gt5.
My question is, does anyone with PS3 Slim have that problem?
:dunce:

tearing has nothing to do with fat or slim. It just means that the hardware is pushed to it's limit, and the hardware specs for both consoles are the same

This said, my fat 60 gigs doesn't show much tearing, maybe I just don't notice it.

I have both fat and thin .. there is little difference between them. They both show tearing.. short of some code improvements, I don't see it getting better until the PS4 arrives..

Ok thanks guy`s.
I didn`t have any in GT5P so don`t really understand why it is in GT5.
Would actually prefer GT5P graphics and not have any screen tearing. It really pulls me out of the illusion of being in a race:indiff:

I don't think there is an actual performance difference between fat and slim on any game, SONY would not write off their existing customers. But anyway what is screen tearing, i don't know, but i do know that i am unhappy with the display of graphics on GT5 most noticeably in city backdrops it looks like a different frame of visual slowly moves down or up the screen at about horizon level it looks really bad and is distracting even when racing. Is that screen tearing?

I have SLIM PS3, almost no screen tear. Its up to the HD TV as well, not only PS3.

Here is a picture of screen tearing in GT5

It took me awhile to notice what was wrong with that picture. Unbelievable what some people complain about, unless it gets way more extreme than the picture above.

its more jarring when the car is moving...and I do find it worse on some track than others, Madrid is particularly noticeable for me.

It can get annoying. And GT5 does it a lot.

Screen tearing has nothing to do with what ps 3 you use or what tv you have. Screen tearing is a big part of gt5 and that is pretty strange since gt5p had minimal tearing..

This.

I'm guessing the people who are complaining about that one screenshot of tearing never really played GT4. In the GT4 LAN mode it would have these horrendous horizontal lines go across the screen and the whole picture would shake up and down for about 3 seconds. This happened on Sarthe every time (among other places too), so I'll take this one simple tear that happens once a a week or whenever :D

Same here, took me a while to notice what was wrong, lol.

I've never noticed screen tearing while playing... must be because I never have any cars ahead of me. :P

Also, I find it a lot more noticable in cockpit view, might be due to having some kind of reference(ie frame of the wind screen)....

Gt5 is pushing the ps3 to the limit. its past the point of no return. My ps3 feels likes its walking on the razors edge playing this so i hope it doesn't look down just keeps its head. even when you reach the top you still gotta learn how to keep it. THEE LIIIMMMMIITTT!!!
