GT5 Playing/Install Issues

I've searched allllll over the internet, and in this forum and I just cant find my exact problem.

I'll start with, I have a 20gb PS3 with 20gb of space. I had GT5 installed, with the full download, but wanted to make room for Call of Duty map packs. So I deleted it, and was on my way. I became ever so bored with COD, deleted ALL COD files, back to 20gb of free space, and reinstalled GT5. I did NOT opt to download the full game the first time I launched. And played like this until about level 17. I was sick of long loading times, and tried to install the optional download. I know about the download taking much longer than it says, but I left the PS3 on, ALL night. Started at 7pm, checked back at 6:30am, STILL stuck at 2 seconds left. I've deleted the GT5 files, and tried reinstalling three times now, still stuck downloading.

And now, I can't even play without downloading the optional install, because if you try to a class to race in, all the maps are shown as black squares, and if you try to click them the game freezes and forces a shut down of the PS3.

Any thoughts?

Usually it'll take only around 30 minutes for the Data Installation to successfully complete. However at times it can go for an hour. Also, installing it actually makes loading go a bit slower than interpreted on the prompting screen.

Yeah, I've had it 100% downloaded before, and it worked fantastic! But I mean, I've left this download on for 10+ hours, and still stuck. Oh, forgot to mention, my system software IS up to date.
