Ok so I know me, as well as others are having an issue with the sound quality of GT5.

Last night I believe I have found this issue and fixed it.

Here's the issue:
If you are using a 2.1/2.0 audio system (stereo speakers (.1 stands for a subwoofer)

Go take a peek into the GT5 settings, go to the audio section and see what it's using at the top. If it says anything other than PCM 2.0 then that is your issue.

Exit the game, go into the PS3's main settings and find the Audio Output Settings then select everything under Linear PCM 2 Ch. and then uncheck everything else.

Problem solved.

**Note: this is only for 2.0 audio systems, but you should select the proper audio output format your surround receiver can handle as well, it is very important.

It fixed my issues.

I can't wait to get room to set up my 7.1 system :D :D

I had 7.1 since 8 years ago before DVD's were officially accepting it :D Sadly I haven't had it set up since 2004 :(

For gaming it is worth, however even now not a lot of dvd/blueray movie supports 7.1 audio, which IMO is quite shocking.

its at 100.

i dont wanna turn the race sounds effects down because i like that to.

I just want it to be nice and even.

Tweak the in game settings to the balance you are looking for and then turn up the global sound outside the game. I to wanted the music level to be increased while I grind for some cash and needed to turn the race effects down to like 70 and then just turned up my receiver.

Agreed. But luckily it still sounds pretty damn awesome on regular 5.1 sources.

My receiver is outdated now, it does 7.1 but no HDMI or any of the new audio formats that came with bluray.

This is like p0rn to me
