I have a T500 RS and it is a really good wheel! Even though im a few seconds faster with DS3!

G27 with Nixim mod brake pedal is a good bet... or a Fanatech, best one you can afford or want to spend $$ on.

I switched from a DFP to a DFGT recently. Was having connection problems with DFP, bad wire I think, not a bad wheel being my 1st 900 degree wheel. The DFGT is a much nicer wheel and it cost less than the other when I got it. the DFGT just feels smoother. If I could afford it I'd go for a G27 or the TS500, *sigh* maybe someday.

Keep your eye out for the G27... some places have sales that will get you one for ~$200.

Edit: The above video says that the G27 is not supported, which it wasn't when the vid was made, but the G27 is now fully supported by GT5.

The DFGT is a Great wheel for the price, I found one brand new in the box on Craig's list for $80 and been using it for a year now with no complaints.

Although when this wheel goes I will spurge, but before you invest over $500 just for a wheel w/o stand you better make sure it's something you really want.

The stand setup is also if not just as important as the wheel.

Fanatec CSR (even with the standard Porsche pedals).
It's funny... it works perfectly with GT5 and has a few problems with FM4.

I got a G27 and it's a champ. I assume the G25 would also be just as good, but I use the red buttons on the G27 to configure settings like brake bias, TCS, ABS and AWD bias among other things. They're a feature set normally reserved for the DFGT.

I posted this in another thread. start watching from 21 mins.

A great wheel if you can afford it and mount it.
If your gonna spend money you might as well get the official wheel and the best on the market although G27 and DFGT are both adequate.

I say if your abit short on money go for the DFGT you should be able to pick one up for about 70 quid brand new and then your could spend 30 quid on a cheap stand. Thats what i did anyway and im loving GT5 even more for it.

EDIT: Its PC compatible aswell always a good option to have :)

probably smart to find a wheel that works with PS3 and xbox.

lack of xbox support for the G27 means i'm unlikely to play Forza, ever.

I've had my G25 since they came out, I think 2006. Still works great. I'd probably just get a G27 to replace it when it wears out.

Or I might get this..
Forza Motorsport CSR Wheel
-and use my Nixim modded G25 pedals and the Fanatec shifter ($60)

Check out the Forza Motorsport CSR Elite Wheel too if you have $600 laying around.

G27. As a first time wheel it is perfect. T500RS is great, but imo not as great as its price. If you find it on sale like I did, $381, then go for it.
