Sorry just a side question as a new gamer to any gt series... i've got the gt5p (have tried searching for similar post without success)
Regarding tuning which I've seen mentioned in the site, is this a function of the game where one can tune the car accordingly to specs available?
I have just started gt5p and so far there are no options for me to tune my car or will that option be made available after I have achieved more races?

You achieve the ability to "tune" you car after you beat the initial race levels. I believe it's 3 series before it is unlocked?

just been playing and all online race's have stopped.
only TT's now but cant seem to acsess them.
In the Japanes version there are weekly online events, the last ones started at 2008/03/20 14:00 and ended 2008/03/27 14:00, they haven't renewed your online events, that is why you cant play.
You will get your update the 28th around noon.
yeah i know that but surly this has happen to others?

Its a bit annoying, i've now got an update on my PAL version of the game

Does this explain why the Online Time Trials are still present?
The Online Time Trials have also changed with the weekly updates on occasion.
I'm going to assume this lack of access to any online races are because of the pending upgrade.

happened to me, there was an upate last 25th, before that i couldn't access online gaming either on gt5p. and then after that it came back. but now i can only see time trials and are not accessible right now. i wonder what the new update will bring, and i dont understand the latest "News" icon on the dealerships mentioning something about cars and what not. i can't really understand what they are since i have the jp version. sorry if this has been answered already.
I have two questions:
- Why the hell failed update doesn't restart itself and continue until done?
- Why the hell I never saw one progress indicator on my PS3 which would be useful?
Apparently there is a way to resume downloading the update if it fails, but I haven't managed to get it working myself. It's bloody frustrating

Yeah after finishing the game (completing all challenges in class c,b,a) the quick tune menu will be revealed

think works like this....when getting error,go out of gt5p using ps-button...than start the game again...this way it should restart downloading where you got the error..........

Ok, so I start GT5P, I get a bunch of japanese about the update, I presumably click "Ok" twice then I get this message:

Thanks for the advice. Luckily, the next time I tried it downloaded without any errors. I'd hate to be downloading it tomorrow when it's officially released

Try clicking the other button. There are two. I think it's the terms of service; it defaults to "do not accept" which results in that screen. Restart the game and select the other button. That should work. The same thing happened to me and I was like wtf? It appears my update (JP version) is under way too. Which is nice.

I'm going thru the same thing. I even went to the News page (instead of exiting the game) and my progress is not kept, have to start again. What a pain.

Hey, don't cry, it just seems to not keep the progress, but in reality, all those little progresses you are doing from start again and again are added up in the end and your update is done! But I didn't exit the game, only constantly clicking on news, yes and then I finally got it.
And I understand your point and it's exactly what I said: "Why the hell I never saw one progress indicator on my PS3 which would be useful?"
