I set this challenge for myself today: build a drift car using only 50,000cr (including car)
this is more of a social challenge, just to see what people come up with, but if anyone would like to drift their 50k cars together, thats fine.

I built an 88' Silvia Q's S13
Comfort hards
Racing hard suspension
customizable differential
Twin plate clutch
Stage 1 engine
Sports computer
Exhaust manifold
Sports exhaust
Intake tune
Stage 1 Weight
Carbon Hood (body color)
Window Weight reduction

Its not bad considering that it only has 180 bhp. :)

Please post what you built, what you did and how good or bad it is! :D

I was intrigued by your challenge so I decided I'd give it a bash!

Car:
Chevrolet Camaro SS '00

Parts bought:
Comfort Hard Tyres
Height-Adjustable, Fully-Customisable Suspension
Fully-Customisable LSD
Sports Computer

Overall, the car goes pretty well and costs a grand total of 49,100 to make with all the parts I listed. It could really do with a Triple-Plate Clutch Kit but obviously this would have taken me over the 50,000Cr limit. The car itself has 349bhp and weighs in at 1,560kg. It goes well but obviously with more money I bet she can achieve much better! Let me know if you want to know the tune and I'll quite happily post it.

This has given me a idea on a drift build video I could do, as long as your ok with me using this?

I thought the Camaro costed more than 50,000 alone?

With custom suspension and the LSD that's one cheap Camaro.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong...

Chevrolet Camaro SS '00

End specs:
342 BHP
1,560 KG
49 kgfm torque

Parts:
CH tires
Fully custom suspension
Fully custom LSD
Sports catalysator

The car is cheap, has a decent grunt to it, but the transmission bogs down a bit if you shift into 3rd. Could do a decent lap at Tsukuba without tinkering.

Price of car 22,150

Total cash spent: 49,700.

Edit: I failed to see that cookie already did use this car! I would say that older american muscle would be the way to go, since they got a fair bit of power from the get-go.

Edit 2:

To contribute with a car not yet mentioned, the Mustang Boss 302 '13.

Costs 45,000
CH tires: 1,100
Sports Computer
Sports Exhaust

Very easy car to drift, and keeps scores high when you get used to it.

487 BHP
1,647 KG

Scores tells nothing about how good a car is.
"I set this challenge for myself today: build a drift car using only 50,000cr (including car)"
And some peoples just ignores op's point 👍

My 50k car coming some point tomorrow :)

Explain me how I ignore op's point. He's not talking about score!
The post above mine refer about scores like its a reference as to how good a car is for drifting (which is not).

I just built an RX-7 but it was over 50,000 in cost. I will build an S14 and post it here 👍 .

I was simply giving a point of reference to how well you can hold a drift with it. I am not saying that a car that produces 15k drift score is better to use than one that do 12k, it is simply to have a concrete way of saying that it can hold a drift in a vareity of corners without bogging down or spinning out.

I built the mustang Boss 302 '13. Transmission is waaay off, a little slow around the corners, loses control and spins out pretty easily. She's not the best but dang nabbit can she get the job done. I think the most fun I'm having with this car is controlling her going in or out of corners. You never know when the tail is gonna whip and spin out because it creeps up on ya, and by the time you realize " HOLY FRICK FRACK ITS ABOUT TO SPIN IT " it'll be too late. Have fun taming the best, because she'll be too busy taming you. I'll have pictures up a day or 2 after christmas.

I'm gonna have to give this a try!

Edit: I gave it a try! XD

This was my result with an '85 RX-7 FC GT-Limited
Total cost: 49700
Full Custom Suspension
Full Custom LSD
CH Tires
Stage 1 Engine Upgrade
Sport Computer
Sport Catalytic Converter
All else = Stock

HP: 244
Torque: 225
Weight: 1280 - (Stock)

This thing actually works. It's terrible, but it works! The gear changes are the worst part. I can live with the low power and relatively heavy weight, but the change from 2nd to 3rd is just horrendous... Makes me realize just how bad normal cars transmissions are for drifting.

Double Edit: Did it again with the '91 Silvia K S13
Total Cost: 49900
Full Custom Gears
Full Custom LSD
Race Hard Suspension <--Did this to save cash
CH tires
All else = Stock

HP: 213
Torque: 212
Weight: 1170

This one is better just because it actually has decent gears. It's tough to make due with just the preset suspension package, but it's not so bad.

Triple Edit: Just realized there was a missing 300 dollars from my costs - It came from Wash and Oil change.

If you guys are interested in some low budget car builds, you might be interested in the new GrassTurismo
site I am helping to get started. It is not a new idea, there have been similar communities on Forza for several years, but with a couple of us moving over to GT6 we are trying to bring the concept to Gran Turismo.

The community creates and utilizes an economy that is completely separate from the game, funds are limited and accounted for with everyone involved, you can buy/sell/trade used parts and cars, and hold community meets and events. Parts pricing is different (cheaper, generally) than the in game cost for parts. It has always drawn more of a drift oriented crowd but it is open to anyone that is interested in the concept of working with a limited budget and stream of cash to build and race their cars.

If that sounds like something you might be interested in, check out the forum, and read up in the "Guide to GrassTurismo" to see how it all works. If you sign up this weekend you can claim the current payday, rather than having to wait till after your first full week. Thats an extra 8k on top of your starting 30k balance.

Any questions you can contact me through our forum or send me a PM here at GTP.

This was fun, maybe someone should host a lobby for it?

I wanted to use a car no one else had used yet for this challenge. It works better than I expected but still isn't all that great. Main problem is the lag between 2nd and 3rd gears. I also had to get pretty extreme with the toe settings to get it to slide right.

My video should be coming up soon! My terrible internet has been trying to upload this 20 minute beast since 11 AM CST and it still needs another 20 minutes to process.

Here is it!
