GT6 HD?

So I've been thinking lately about how PD have said that a GT game for the PS4 would be ready "in a year or two" and that got me thinking. If a year from now PD was going to release an HD version of GT6 on the PS4 will all of the updates and DLC from the previous year would you buy it? Full 1080P, solid 60 fps, better graphics, a sound update, pretty much just a bunch of things added that they couldn't add on the PS3. Personally...I probably would, partly just so that I won't have to go back and forth from the PS3 and PS4.
 
I probably won't play GT6 on PS4 since I'm not getting a PS4 until I get a job which will pay for the PS Plus membership that comes with it.

My thinking is that they would release a GT6 HD and thus give themselves more time to work on GT7. I'd rather them take a little more time to work on GT7 than rush it out to get GT game on the PS4. A year or two seems too fast for a GT game.

I highly doubt they would complete the game "a year or two". You know how Polyphony try to be such "perfectionists".
 
I called it as many others did: GT6 on PS3. AND no GT6 on PS4. Play the same game twice?? No thanks. Its GT7 in 2-3 years on PS4.
 
What kind of a question is that in the Poll?

There will be no such thing as GT6 HD. GT6 is HD as was GT5
GT6 will release on the PS3 and there is no reason to think that there will be a GT6 release for the PS4
GT7 will be on the PS4

So Basically there is no suitable choice in your poll

No I will not be buying GT6 for the PS4 as it does not exist
Yes I will buy GT6 for the PS3 as that is what they will be selling

GT7 on PS4 isn't starting from the ground up though. The premium cars will transfer over as I would assume most of the tracks with very little additional work required except maybe on the older, nonupdated tracks. There will be new features and such as usual, but it's not like the leap from PS1>2 and 2>3 IMO.

Console games are NOT HD. They are upscaled to whatever resolution you want.

GT5's 720p mode is true 720p, and that is still classed as a HD resolution.

Its 1080p mode is actually 1280x1080 scaled to 1980x1080, so vertically there are the same amount of lines as standard 1980x1080. I think you would have to be looking reasonably closely to see the difference between the scaled 1280x1080 and the full 1980x1080 to see differences.

The GT6 demo ran at 1440x1080. It might not be 1920x1080 but it's damn close for a current console game. I also believe anything 1280x720 and above is considered HD and that would be many console games.
 
Poll makes absolutely no sense.

1. GT6 is in HD, as GT5 and almost every PS3 game capable of being displayed in 720p or above, when proper connection methods and an adequate HD TV is used. It is what it is, no matter how techy some people here like to get.

2. GT6 on PS4 does not, and most likely will never exist. When are some of you people going to get over this? Even if PD did such nonesene, do you expect for the game to magically look like a PS4 game? Yes, you might get an improved frame rate and little things that some people seem obsessed with, but it will still be nothing more than a slightly, almost unnoticeable smoother running PS3 game. Period. No GT6 on PS4

GT5 is HD, compare it to GT4 which was SD even when set to a higher res.
GT5 and 6 as well as most games on PS3 and XB360 are 720P or above and way beyond the SD [480I] alternatives

The US version of GT4 was HD on PS2!

No it wasn't, the PS2 was not capable of HD, you could set GT4 to that res but it looked really bad compared to anything in HD, it was no where near HD, not even full 480P. The best you could get it to look was if you used component cables and set it to 480P on a non SD tv
 
Interesting that no one in this thread has any memory of Vision Gran Turismo (which was promised to be a "super" GT4 before it morphed into Gran Turismo HD), which is that the OP was rather obviously using as a comparison. Though I suppose just saying "GT5 and GT6 ARE HD! YOUR THREAD MAKES NO SENSE!" over and over again is more fun.

Not having it (I'm PAL region) what elements if any were at 1080i? And of course it would only need to be 720 for HD. Was it just upscaled by the PS2? I've just looked at a video on youtube and it certainly doesn't look particularly good but it's better than my PAL SD version.

It was a 540p image rendered as two half images put together to present a 1080i signal, then stretched horizontally. The actual internal resolution of the game when in 1080i mode is only slightly higher than the 480p image (but enough that they had to disable the color dithering and transparency on the framebuffer to keep the framerate, causing the gauges to look pixellated and occasional screen jutter); which is both why it looks slightly better to some but worse to others (because it relies on the TV to correctly capture the image and not every TV can, so a 480p signal may look much better).

Psssst...I said "would you" for a reason. I am fully aware that GT6 will not be coming to the PS4 (as I've already said). Put the fangs away buddy.
