Can i just say that if you thought about it ps1 got 2 series of GT ( GRAN TURISMO 1 & 2 ) PS2 also got 2 series of GT ( GRAN TURISMO 3 & 4 ) PS3 got only one series soo far GRAN TURISMO 5 so WHY not we get GRAN TURISMO 6 in PS3 ?

leave that nonsense about it gonna take long and all other stuff , 2 series per console possibly even for PS3 ?

EDIT : this thread WILL turn to GT6 discussion only the moderates can stop it .

What he said.

Can we have a moratorium on 6 threads? I agree, speculation can be fun, but we have the same factual information as UFO speculators.

It's too early to be expecting GT6 any time soon, not because it shouldn't be here but because PD isn't capable of getting it here this soon, but it isn't too early to start talking about what we want from it. In fact, the time for discussing that was fall of 2010.

Dont get me wrong I'm all for GT6 but I dont want to rush PD. GT5 is like GT1 and GT3 in the sense that they were pioneers for their respective platforms.

Expecting a top-quality game in a couple years or so isn't "rushing". That's simply expecting it in a realistic timeframe. Going much beyond that is taking way too long. With the enormous sales of GT games, PD have no excuses for taking way longer than what it takes other studios whose games sell far fewer units. It isn't as though PD are spending that extra time developing much greater quantities of content than the other guys, either, as FM3 already packed more content than GT5 did (remembering that 80% of those cars weren't even created for GT5, so really they only made 220+ cars for GT5) and took just two years to produce.

People are too used to sequels coming out every 1 or 2 years, so it's not surprising to see speculation start around this time, especially with E3 coming. I'm not expecting any official GT6 info until late 2013.

The thing of it is: players don't just expect the sequels every year or two, but they want them there. By now the vast majority of the six million or so players who purchased GT5 have moved on. Those players would be more than happy to purchase a brand new GT6, if there was one to purchase. During the many years that they have to wait, they have little choice but to go elsewhere to play other games, and the problem for PD is that the ones willing to give Forza a try tend to like it, and they get them every couple years. If PD want the franchise to matter another five or ten years down the road, they need to start turning the games out in shorter time, and still with the same level of content that the other guys offer. They can't continue spending more time creating products that offer fewer features than what the other guys put together in less time.

if GT6 is on the PS3 i won't be buying it, it will inevitably be more of the same if so. GT needs a major revamp, especially in the sound design and customization department (livery editor).[

I would buy it and I couldn't imagine that these issues wouldn't be addressed as we have been voicing our opinions and complaints about all imperfections with GT5 from its inception.

Why do we need GT6 to be on the PS4 for those things? A lot of GT5's shortcomings have to do with PD not managing the game well. We don't need the PS4 for all premium cars, more tracks, a revamped A-spec and career mode, leaderboards, etc. I can go on.

If GT6 will be released WITH ps4 all together I will wait for it , i said I , me .

But there is nothing wrong with ps3 , gt6 + ps3 WILL have no problems because when you realize gt5 you CAN'T find any thing gone wrong because of the ps3 its self , you guys know what happen , the ps3 was perfect for gt5 but nothing comes out exactly what we want .

lets just cross our fingers that gt6 will be released in ps3 because if not , its going to be very very long time for it i mean really long time , looking back at ps3 when its released its also took very long time for gt5 to be released with alot of delaying .

edit : by the way change the title this will never work because this is GTPLANET , planet of discussion , planet of sharing , planet of ideas . ( should i be in a cliff somewhere? )

This topic is a paradoxical contradiction.

Isn't it tho, lol. Thats what I tried telling the OP in the very beginning. Don't care about speculating, but to make a thread about not speculating and end up speculating in the very thread.....I fail to see the logic in all this. Kinda funny actually.

Sound design and livery could easily be done on ps3...they could easily revamp the game with current graphics level.

WHY not we get GRAN TURISMO 6 in PS3 ?

Because GT5 already capped the PS3 potential and hardware to the point where we are getting errors/blackscreens/framerate lag/extreme frame rate drops and many many bugs. It's all a byproduct of a game built on compromises designed on an outdated platform. To release another title on this platform will only harm an already compromised company.
And if we follow your logic, we've already had 2 titles for the PS3 remember Prologue?

Prologue isn't even a full game its just some sort of a demo , an you have a point there about the ps3 ...

I'd think it would depend on whether GT6 is for PS3 or PS4. If it's for PS3, then it shouldn't be too far off. It would probably use pretty much the same rendering & physics engine
Rumours suggest that Sony are dropping/have dropped the cell processor and gone back to an x86 processor meaning the PS4 will have a whole new engineering SDK yet again. Kaz mentioned an age ago that because they have now made the game (GT5) for the PS3 they will be able to do it much easier for GT6 as they have learnt all of the intricacies of the architecture.
If the rumours are true, then that suggests GT6 may well be on PS3.

Gt4 had a prologue so whats your point?

The point people are making is there are two gts per system not counting the prologues.

With counting "Prologues" and "Concepts" there were 4 GT games on PS2.

Throw the Tourist Trophy into equation and you got 3 "big" standalone games and 2 "Prologue/Concept" titles.

And just to add to that, GT4 and TT achieved things that were thought to be impossible in the aging PS2 hardware (with its pseudo HD mode). Maybe a PS3 GT6 can surprise us beyond belief.

Also, as someone stated above, many of GT5 flaws don't need a more powerful hardware to be solved or improved upon. Tracks, premium cars, proper leaderboards, better online, more events, better audio, etc.

I have the feeling so far that GT6 will not be for the PS3, but for the PS4 (next PS whatever). PS3 is already at its very limits for offering anything better than GT5. So, if it is for something better/more spectacular to be offered, that would not be on PS3.

No it's not to early.

This is GTplanet, home of speculation.
1000 premium tracks and 2000 premium cars are around the corner.

You know it to be true.

I'm sure people just keep posting this same comment without reading any other replies.

I don't think the PS3 was maxed out.

At the backstage reveal they used a version downloaded that day from there servers.
Essentially they were working on it right up until release.
Many updates followed which goes to show that the code could have done with more work.

Who knows what more could of been gained by further optimisation.

We all know the score.

Cool! Now go through all of them and post the same reply! 👍

No, I'm just tired of seeing the same old 'PS3 isn't powerful enough, we need a PS4 for GT6' when me and others have said time and time again, we don't.

This right here is what the core GT fan have become acustumed to, loooong wait periods, mediocre product and a poor demo of what's to come in the future... Hopefully they've learned from the GT5 experience and GT6 will be a completely new plataform totally independent from GT5, all "standard cars" will be gone, they will drop the 1000+ cars thing and focus on what really matters!
-Proper physics.
-Proper car sounds(no the vacuum cleaner sounds we have are not proper by any means, not a single one of them).
-Proper and realistic tyre model.
-Solid netcode.
-Proper FFB, wheel support and adjustability.
-Properly balanced competition series with modern as well as classic race cars.
-Proper livery editor.
-RM for every car based on the series they compete on the real world properly and relevantly balanced.
-Proper modification system.

These would be great... However it - sadly, would never happen.

I would love to see a new pp system. It is stupid how it is being calculated in GT5 (increase of the downforce results in an increase of the pp as if the adjustment of the angle of the wing at the back results in a pp change that can be practically calculated, etc). I would rather see races with certain specs instead, and a better way to filter those 1000+ cars in my garage (if it is to have the same many).

They really need to eliminate the dominant cars, in stock form yes I understand how important it is to represent real world performance. But after all tunning is done they need to go trough car classing and have them all perform equally, at least on RM trim.

Yep. A bit early. If you ever saw the thread "Spec 3.0?", there was a lot of speculating. GT6 is probably on a concept stage.

Why is so much focus being put on that LinkedIn profile? Even if it is correct it doesn't tell us anything we didn't know already, GT6 is in development.
