I'm interested to see what people have to say about this feature. Kaz seemed pretty hyped about it in the presentation.

I myself have never been that interested in "social networking" in gaming (eg. I'm not that excited for all the new social features on the PS4), however I think this could be more than just the social networking side of things. Potential for setting up cars, repainting, viewing, bspec remote racing (not that that feature has been divulged yet), I mean the list goes on.

One idea that did spring to mind, is that I know for PC racing sims, people get apps that connect to the game, that show some of the HUD. An example here:

So potentially...could this be something that GT6 gets with this new multi-device setup? They have done multi-monitor displays before, not to mention I'm 99% sure I read once that Kaz said that the PSP could potentially be used as a rear view mirror (of course that never actually happened). So, maybe we could use our smartphones, or Vitas for something along those lines? Thats just one idea I had.

Would love to hear what other people think about this though.

I like the idea, and I think the way he described the ui in gt5 being optimized for controller as well as touch screen probably indicates that the same ui will be in game as well as across other devices.

Which hints to me that we will get most of the game features accessible from other devices, the likes of setting up cars, purchasing, maintenance etc. Probably most things that dont require the game engine to draw 3D graphics.

I don't think we will get a HUD on other devices in real time like pictured above. I don't think that is a path that interests Kaz, and I believe this because he passed off the F1 Champ edition 'psp rear view mirror' as a gimmick many years ago

Yeh good point. Like you said, seems likely that almost all menu features will be available on the other devices. Thinking back on my OP, it's interesting to note that they only mentioned cross-device compatibility with smartphones, pc and tablet, not Vita system.

I don't know about third party, but PD is developing an app that will function with GT6. Mostly for community/informative purposes. I'm sure B-Spec functionality will be there as well if B-Spec is still included.

Yeh ok. Well, of course. That is kinda what I had presumed. Didn't see how else it would be done. But still, they might make the limitations of the app broad, still allowing to to perform many of the purely menu driven features in the game.

Being able to control b-spec races when I'm out on a tablet/phone rather than at home when I could be racing a-spec/online would be awesome. Also being able to do car management/maintenance/setup/tuning etc leaves more time for racing/driving when I get the chance to. It would be a much welcomed addition if indeed possible.

It would be cool if a phone/tablet could be used as a mirror, HUD or even just for community-purposes... I certainly hope PD'll develop their app for Android (too), anyway.

If it where like gt5, just with more features I would be satisfied. Although maintaining and painting cars is cool... It's too much to expect through a mobile phone or tablet.

I would be like 99% sure that it will be available for android and iOS. That would be so stupid if they only made it for iOS.

Whats too much to expect? They have already confirmed multi-device compatibility, so what are you referring to?

PD hasn't confirmed the features of this, but being able to customize cars and do b-spec events through a mobile phone... pretty pointless if you consider all the other things needed to do in order to make GT6.

I imagine car customization to utilize the second screen. Let me paint and tune my car :-) Not to say a livery editor would perfectly fit a touchscreen or a pc with mouse...

That could be interesting... I'm imaging myself in classes with a PC and instead of working I could customize a car, and it's a group work I do that with my friends:dopey:! Nice!

Of course they havn't confirmed the features of it yet, lol. That's the reason for this thread! :D So we can discuss possible ideas or potentials of the feature, which has been confirmed.

I think that since alot of people have a day job, or don't enjoy sitting down and running B-spec (I know it's not confirmed yet for GT6) that being able to send your drivers off to race for you, or play around with a tune etc whilst you get a minute at work would be a great feature for them to do!

Smartphone, I've been hoping so much for this to mean some sort of HUD capability. Even just some of the scoring/timing functions that everyone has been asking for.

PC, livery editor is what I would want there. Native .psd files would be the mother of all features for this game in that regard.

Tablet, stream replays and use photomode? Just a thought ;)

I got the impression that the multi device function was for community features. Like organizing events, trading cars etc. I'm not expecting much more than that.

Indeed! But who knows :boggled:?

I would honestly prefer that smartphones and tablet were able to use the same functionalities. Good for those who don't own a tablet and those who don't own a smartphone. I can agree on the computer, though :D:tup:.

I suspect your right but just looking at screenshots of the images they showed of the multi device stuff looks like the garage is accessible in some way shape or form.

If PD do make a live data logger, it's most likely to be on Ps Vita. Kaz always says, " we go for the latest technology."
Why is GT6 a PS3 title then?

If PSP or Vita, from a hardware aspect it doesn't matter. The only reason would be to animate people buying a Vita.

I agree. It just came to.mind that way because the screens are bigger on tablets. I dont have one... but would contemplate buying one if thats how it worked out lol.

Replays and photomode on my phone would be the shiznit.
