Hi everyone. I think this hasnt been discuss (havent found anything), and if it has, i apologize.

Will a propper GT6 demo be launched as an actual preview of what the game will be. I dont think GT Academy 2013 its enough to make me choose whether to buy the game or not.

When i heard about the release of a demo, i was actually looking for a demo of the game, few tracks, few cars, few events, different styles of gameplay.

I doubt im the only one who thinks like this. Id rather have that demo we have all seen lately which featured different styles of cars and tracks. Even GT Academy has been a little bit of a risky experiment, a racing driver is suppose to come out of that program, but how are they going to get the best there is, if by watching the best time replay all we get is someone drifting his way, with a pad. So, in a nutshell, are there plans of a different demo, or GT Academy is all we are getting until final release.

Thank you.

Nobody knows yet. The last GT Academy was the only demo for GT5 though (unless you count Prologue), so I would be surprised if they released two for GT6.

I honestly felt GT5 Prologue served more as a demo for GT5 then the GT Academy demo they released closer to launch. A lot was changed, but the bulk of Prologue showed off what was new with GT5.

Not saying I want a GT6 prologue, however, I would not mind having a "real" demo before GT6 launches with that exact criteria listed above, 5-6 cars and a track with 2 layouts I feel is enough. No more placeholders though, lets hear the real sound, and see the real AI. Also let us tune and choose different tires.

Technically they have done a demo, we have seen a R8 LMS in Nurburgring, a Z4 in Silverstone, an Audi S1 in some hills? Why havent PD launched that?

Those are technically just builds used to showcase at different events, such as the new GoodWood demo which will be playable for attendees.

Yeah im not saying otherwise, but its not like they have to develop the whole thing, its already there, i think. PD would get more clients or at least sure buyers driving a S1, an Audi R8, etc, in differents tracks, than driving the same 370Z and GTR over the same track with no point at all, people that golded GT Academy and still plays it ( me included ), does it because of continuing experiencing with physics (which are obviously still in development), but not because we have a chance at the event. I dont know if i have explained myself properly. Its just my thought.

I simply dont understand PD's strategy, they could make things so much better, and somehow just do things that dont have all the sense they could..

They don't want to give too much away, obviously. Most demos for racing/car games will only give you one track and maybe three different cars.

That has been the main issue since 2006!

Doubt it - it also sounds like GT6 won't be for you if you are not keen after seeing the various trailers.

As Samus said (ahh, now I know why he changed his username :sly:) a demo would likely be just the one track with a few cars - that's the way they go now.

They seem to have done well so far - the Academy drivers already racing in the real world are being seen as a force to reckon with at races. Also, very few of the top Academy contestants are pad users.

Okay, yet another "personal expectations based on subjective wishing leads to disappointment" thread.

Good.

If you do not like the demo assuming you did not like GT5 (or have not tried it), you probably will not enjoy GT6. GT6 will continue with the GT series tradition of focusing on physics and realism with less of the extreme excitement found on other games.

And this is also the reason why i love the GT series, i just wish they could add more tracks local to my area so i can practice virtually before driving the track in real life.

Bring back Infineon and add ThunderHill and i'm all set!

And it doesn't even really do that well.

It sure did. I practiced Laguna Seca before going to the track itself. First lap (first time in the track), I knew where the breaking points were, the car reacted just how it did in the game and i was passing high horse power cars in a miata. So ... it works.

Could it be better, of course! any simulation can always be better.

I really do not see the point in trying to convince people who are disappointed, if you do not like it ... it's not for you. Life's too short.

A demo that featured a full grid of cars (even if the grid is made up of just one or two makes) and one track that represented the quality of the final game would be ideal.

Its never going to happen though, Polyphony Digital has become very good at hiding things. If they were proud and confident in the game they would want to show it off to as many people as possible. Now they want people to buy the game based on what they've done in the past, which isnt even very good anymore.

What an absolute ray of hope you are...

He raises a valid point. I really hope PD doesn't begin to rely on the GT name in order to sell games. GT6 will reveal whether this statement is true or not.

Which is why they have gone to major motoring events where absolutely no one will ever go, or get the chance to try the game out...

A valid point? I'm surprised at you going with suggestion rather than facts.

GT:A 2013 is a good preview of GT6.

The only big questions left that a demo could answer but didn't, are if the tire model it features is the one that will be in GT6 (it feels the exact same as GT5's) and what's going to happen with sounds.

Are you guys forgetting the last two GT's didn't really have demo's but a prologue? The demos we got where merely gt academy related and where not fully representative in graphics.

Regardless of whether this is representative of the graphics of the final game, this thing isn't the same thing as the GT Academy 2010 download. This one is specifically named as being a demo for GT6, and has much more content than the 2010 one.

I'm not sure what you mean. I was refering to the last sentence of his post. It is possible for PD to get complacent and rely on their past success to continue selling games. GT6 will show what route PD takes.

Let's be honest here, Gran Turismo 6 has already got a guaranteed 5+ million sales. So has GT7. Whether you like it or not GT sells heavily on name, just as many other series now do.

Who said im a NFS kind of guy? I bought GT5 on 24th November 2010... i have played since then, and i like it, it has nothing to do with the thread. I like the GT objective, thats why i have bought their products.

Im not that kind of person that buys the game just because... Companies don't own me. Maybe thats just me, i don't know, every game should be a new product with new features that not only get the attention of sure buyers, but gets a whole new market of people.

Already launching GT6 with standard cars and not great sounds (we will see about this one), is a bit dissapointing... thats not something you would see for example from a new franchise that just launches its first game and tries to compete with the big ones, but GT can do it.. because they are PD and GT franchise. This is a problem that every big company has eventually, they think they can just launch whatever they want, that they will sell it.

And you know whats worst, we are getting used to buy an incomplete game... a game that you get for 60-70 bucks but at the end of the first year, assuming you buy every DLC they launch, you will have spent 100 bucks.

I saw on my FB page, this is a post from Mercedes Benz:

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 on the brand new Hill Climb track (4 fotos)
Since the #Goodwood Festival of Speed is taking place right now, it serves as the perfect occasion to announce Goodwood's renowned 1.86km #HillClimb as a new track to feature on the forthcoming Gran Turismo®6 for PlayStation®3. A new #GT6 demo will now give some of the expected 185,000-plus spectators their chance to challenge Nick Heidfeld’s 1999 41.6s course record set in a Formula 1 car. Take a look!

The Demo was 'alright' could've been better, could've been worse, but if you didn't get it, not missing much really, the Leaf rolled like a water bed, the 370Z was the same old understeer then immediate oversteer story, and after that I got bored and the game pretty much ran out anyway.

I'm pretty sure the GT Academy is the only demo we're going to be getting. Looking at the GT5 in game news menu, it states that we'll be able tackle the hill climb later this year in GT6

A harsh but pretty accurate review!
The 370Z with wing was like that but i thought the stock version was pretty good.

I wasn't too bothered about the 'demo' being what it was, until recently.

I read that therte was a GT6 rig at Comic-Con where people could drive on the Matterhorn and Willow Springs tracks as well as Silverstone, they also had all the other cars too.

Why aren't the masses getting a taste of this? Can we get in on a little bit more GT fun instead of what we have?

In my idealistic head, we should see another add on for the 'demo' after GT-A is finished. My realistic head says, not a chance.
