My problem with GT5 was that it really seemed like many of the events just seemed to be over too quickly and could have been better with more races. You could have had one-make series like what we've had with GT2 through GT4, but like the One-Make races in GT5... you had just one event. I wouldn't mind racing a lot of courses and actually feeling like I'm in a deep championship or series of races. The star system sort of reminds me of "Need for Speed SHIFT" (the first one, of course), where you would earn three stars if you won the race.

I feel the same way especially about the one make races. I loved those things. Also I'd be fine with 3 laps if they made the damn AI tougher to beat and actually had them take a proper racing line. That made it even tougher to beat them with.Yet again we don't know how they will function for Gt6, because we haven't been shown or told. Even though I want info from T10 on their new crap, at least I know they're changing it.

We don't know what to expect with the lineup of races for GT6, but I'm hopeful the lineup of races will be interesting. If the races DON'T end up being interesting, then you can hark back to the days of races like the Megaspeed Cup (GT1) and races like that in GT history. At least that would mean great memories- like whipping everybody elses' butts with my 930 hp Mitsubishi 3000GT/GTO on High Speed Ring and Test Course. Those were the days...

Yes they were, I also remember GT2 having some tough races. Or GT3 having an actual difficult license testing to pass

GT5's problem is, there is no thrill like GT1 & GT2. they only have 6 cars yet, the events were thrilling. The hatchbacks at Rome. The Muscle Cars at Seattle. The 300km enduro in the GT300 cars. The BTCC races. The Luxurious Sedan races. Remember the licence test using the Toyota GT-One that taught us how downforce works the faster you go? Tahiti in a Mini. Full throttle in the Ruf BTR at Rome Night! Top Speed in the HKS drag cars. How many times did you have a go at the Red Emblem event? The Speed 12. Winning that TRD 3000GT Prize Car. Holding down that 'X' button at a track like Red Rock.

The most challenge I got from GT5, came from the Tuned Car Races. If you keep race clean, keep the stock hp and tyres, you may win, you may not. All the other races were just more licence tests pretty much. GT6 will bring us back to that.

I thought the special events were challenging, similar to the ones in GT4 (though less frustrating than those GT4 ones). Though I suppose many of them were just hotlap events (Vettel Challenge), they were still very challenging and enjoyable for me. I miss Tahiti as a circuit, loved that.

You're good it hasn't been posted here.

My issue with the article is half of it talks about the visuals, I have yet to find a person that has issues with PD on that aspect (unless you mention GT5 standards). The problem is the author tells us we are getting realistic damage, yet PD told us they haven't changed the damage and I quote "aren't in the business of smashing up cars" as if sims that do that aren't portraying real life. We aren't asking for need for speed, were asking for what happens on La Sarthe when you shunt at the Porsche Curves or Indianapolis corner on the limit.

The scion comparison is somewhat helpful I suppose, but if the game has come so far (we got good reviews for GT5 remember) then why haven't PD done more to show us this? They've done their usual song and dance with the new trailer making it dynamic like a Hollywood blockbuster, but I think we will have to wait for more detailed reviews than this. This isn't anything to rave or get worked up about. Maybe a certain user I talked to was right and fans do a disservice by only helping hype a game.

I know we're talking about a game but, isnt it like someone hyping Superman 3 & 4 after you saw 1&2? You go see for yourself and "What the..?" Then someone hypes Superman Returns. Then someone hypes Man of Steel. Im sure many people who love the series, feel theyll get it right.

1990's Batman. Some may say I'll never watch another one. Look at the 00's trilogy. Not bad. With new flavor, mixed things around. Make it more real and believable to the senses-to its comic book origins.

I saw all the Super herp movies bad and good. Its like the reviews. Even if it was 80percent bad(including fluff), I'd still have to see for myself because I dig the series. I guess some can't handle true criticsm if its contrary to their positive expectations. I can handle it. Im old enough :)

Anyway, hes speaking to those buying the game regardless. Just have to wait for people you trust to give you good and bad news. I'll share my input Dec.6 Aussie time.

You still have to show proof, of this claim, I'd like to see and other would to. Also AUP dictates that you can't just make a claim like you've done with out giving a source. Where are these aero replications?
Are you serious? You know www.gran-turismo.com had the information about cfd (computational fluid dynamics), the redone suspension with cooperation from K&W and the new tire model with Yokohama. This has been on their website for months. GTPlanet even had the story running on the news page. This https://www.gtplanet.net/new-online-features-aerodynamics-in-gran-turismo-6/ was on the news page in August. More than 2 months ago. Here https://www.gtplanet.net/gt6-used-to-tune-schulze-motorsports-nurburgring-gt-r/ you can see they used the GT6 engine to refine setups for their N24 car. This was a story from late MAY.

I thought the stars were some kind of points system and you had to earn them in order to be able to do license tests for the next level.
That is correct. bronze = 1 star, silver=2 stars, gold=3 stars.

Yes I realize this but this has nothing to do with recreating the aero package of a GT3 GTR. Nor does it show us how in-depth it has gone.

That doesn't prove that GT6 will allow us to create realistic aero packages. It doesn't show us to what degree either, just like you claim I'm jumping to conclusions, you've done the same as well with aero. Which is just one thing. GT5 was also said to be a crucial tool to helping real racers too and we know how realistic that physics model was.

Aero packages? Never said that. I said redone aerodynamics based off real world values. You can read those stories and see that GT6 took information from actual aero setups. They explain the wing angles will have an effect in game just as irl.

Well its kinda known around here that you have to take what Kaz or PD say with a grain of salt, for better or for worse.Because things change on the fly, like a majority of games do, but Kaz likes to jump the gun on things a lot. I kinda wished he would just stay hidden and release trailers and gameplay videos a month or weeks prior to its release like a majority of developers do.Because this whole being super accessibleyet only giving vague answer thing is annoying for the most part..I kind of figured damage would be more, drastic I guess because of both the fact we have permanent damage and the description of the damage repair was kind of detailed. Also this isn't a review its an impression.

Which formulate to aero packages, or various ways of setting up and having aerodynamics to differing degrees on a car.

Read them when they first came out and did so before you suggest just to humor you because I had an inclination you'd say just that in this post. Also I don't see anything showing that the wing angle (angle of attack) can be changed, maybe I missed it but I clicked all corresponding links from the second to last post. Also they took them from a specialized development version that we have yet to know if the game will be near the same level.

Also CFD only does so much, surely PD could have got more aero info especially if working with teams.

I'm aware of this.

It is very annoying, though others as you have seen would say they aren't vague answers or ambiguous. I realize now it isn't a review (sorry) but detailed how compared to GT5, I mean does the speed of impact and consequential damage afterward seem to be realistic? Or is a continuation of hitting walls at 150 then being brought to 0 only to see a few scratches or black scuff marks? Also back to the other portions, I'd rather Kaz just be up front with us and say no you wont have this or that, though it may hurt sales in the short run I'd see it as better marketing. Also it's fine to release trailers hidden but don't make them cinematic features, and this doesn't only go to PD there are other that do it too.

So you don't believe what you read? I don't get it. You change wing angles to achieve the desired level of downforce.

What do you not get? You could also add down force in GT5 but it wasn't realistic. I'm not saying that I don't believe they used CFD or did this or that, but Kaz has gone back on his words before like I've told you and also what @Dmarc_Atl just said too. I'm simplying wanting to know to what capacity we can expect some of us felt a big shift with GTA 13 and the demo others like myself thought it wasn't much different. I'm sure they've tweaked it more for the final release.

You talk about working with teams? They raced at the Nurburgring 24hr race. You can read more here- http://www.gran-turismo.com/us/news/00_5537785.html nothing better than working with your own team.

Schulze motorsports isn't PD I hope you know, Kaz drives with them and brings his company along to sponsor, they use many cars to gauge physics for GT. This still doesn't show me what you said. All I saw was CFD and the various things it affects and that was it. I have issues with CFD only but I wont get into that because I don't think you want to. Also Kaz has driven with/for Schulze for a while now, it's not PD's team, that car has gone to that race in years past with same sponsorship. Once again the capacity of GT helping has been augmented before with GT5 and Academy drivers that race in say Le Mans use it to help. This could be true or a promotional tool.

I really want to see Jordan's experience with almost final build. Better damage and updated environment is something what is in my top 5 things i want to be better in GT series.
So do I. Maybe because the final build of GT6 is so much better now, he probably doesn't want to spoil the surprise for us, haha. :D

The problem is the author tells us we are getting realistic damage

The author tells us that the damage looked as realistic as it ever has in the series. I read that as realistic as in GT5, maybe a bit better. I certainly can't interpret that as being really realistic.

Don't raise your hopes with better damage, it should be the same as in GT5 according to available information.

Yes it should, but Kaz doesn't said "the same", but similar, as far as i know. And still I can hope :P :D

Seriously? Are we having a discussion about the absolute necessity of more realistic damage again now? If GT5 proved anything, then it proved that a more in-depth visual damage-model is just eye-candy and does nothing for the overall enjoyment of the game. A vast majority looks at it, and then turns it off.

I have nothing against including this on a PS4 which is sort of made for that kind of thing, but on a PS3, where every tiny bit of performance is needed to keep the frame-rate up, I'd rather not have them waste their efforts on this.

I might have missed the discussion but, does anyone know what happened to the Gran Turismo 350Z RS? It's not in NISMO, NISSAN or in Gran Turismo listings.

Is it this car?

159 Amuse/Opera Performance GRAN TURISMO 350Z RS

"More in-depth" in GT5 was horribly underwhelming. If visual damage was realistic, it would've added to the enjoyment of the game, for me and many others. But it was not.

A vast majority looks at it, and then turns it off.

Do you wonder why? If I saw damage that looked as unrealistic as it did in GT5 I would turn it off as well. Most of the time the visual damage consisted of details like lights being merely smeared across the car. That ends up detracting from the game, which is a contributing factor to why people turn visible damage off.

What I do not get is why you continuously try to find a way around the information given to you. Then say its not right when the information is there on their website talking about how they changed the aerodynamic model of the game. Theres even a story about the GTR GT3 doing a jump on the nurburgring track in game and irl.

His own team means he is/was a part of the team. I didn't say he owned them or imply it was PD's personal racing team. You take some things so literally then ignore other things given to you on their website and this website. Information you claimed was lacking but has actually been around for months now. Its funny because other news sources say "his team" and everyone relates that to his participation, not ownership.
