Would you start fresh on GT6? or would you rather continue on with what you had(cars, money, items, etc.)

I'd would like to bring some of what I have along(Especially my rare Falcon XR8), what would you want?

I would rather start fresh on every game. I have all the cars including all the rare color ones, some were hard to get but I would still rather start with just one old beater and a few coins.

Start fresh, like every GT. The fun about being poor and searching for a good bang for the buck in the used car dealer. Good times, always.

GT5 removed a bit of that, it's so easy in the beginning.

Go to Sunday Cup knowing that you won't win, but you need the 300 CRs for 5th. XD

:)

I like it when you have to pull out the stops to win the race and maybe even have to try 3 or 4 times to win.

It is boring when you just go out and overpower the field.

It is nice to get through the slow cars faster, but it's nice to have to build your your income too. Both have + and -.

Fresh start for me. GT6 needs to bring back the tight budgets and mandatory licences tests. These two things make the game much more enjoyable. GT5 failed to deliver this feeling.

You said it. 👍 👍

In GT5, I wanted to start right at the bottom and struggle my way up... So I bought a Go-Kart. It turned out to be the easiest way to earn lots of prize money early, which ruined the whole feeling.

So yeah, I'll start over. I wouldn't want to transfer anything to GT6 until I'm far into the game, earning millions easily.

Hopefully GT6 has a brand new progression and structure. 5 games of the same thing gets old....

Gaming has moved on since GT1

Err... not quite sure what you mean by that. I've ignored the other sandbox racers other than Forza, which is essentially the same game. Toca has a weird progression ladder, but sims have single races and racing series, and that's about it. I'm not sure how else you can repackage starting with low power cars and branching out from there as you want.

Maybe you mean the added Career Mode ideas a few of us have been discussing. That would be seriously cool.

Oh yeah, the topic. With my GT5 garage loaded to the rafters with sweet cars - and some not so sweet, it seems a shame to let that all go. But this is looking to be quite a new experience for us all, so if they offer a full garage transfer like Kaz discussed for GT5, I'll try to resist the urge. And likely, all we'll be offered is a credit bonus like they did in GT4. That, I'll take advantage of, because in GT4 I knew used cars would return, and sure enough, there were about a dozen rides I wanted that I didn't see again for quite a few game days.

A-spec has been too similar for a while now. I think that's what's being pointed out.

I've been evangelizing my own Career Mode idea for several years off and on, like within a month or so of GT4's release. With Kaz working with Nissan and FIA to get GT Academy going, he has the perfect model for Career Mode - his own creation. I just hope it begins with enthusiast club racing events, rather than getting right into GT4 Class racing.

I think I would like to start fresh, as the early stages of previous GT games were some of the best times :). That said, I would also like the ability to import my garage from GT5 at some point....perhaps this is something that could be unlocked upon reaching a certain completion percentage (eg 75% complete)?

A small credit bonus for having GT5 data wouldn't surprise me much.

Oh, I will definitely be starting over. I love starting from scratch in Gran Turismo as I always feel more accomplished two years down the road.

I remember starting GT3 with a PT Cruiser and running the same race over and over and over just for a little credit to buy something decent.

Ah! The good ole days:tup:

Back OT, I want to start fresh. Won't be GT6 to me if I don't.:)

I don't like the idea of licenses unlocking events. In GT3, I could never complete the Ib, Ia(Or whatever the last 2 main licenses were called) and S licenses, essentially locking that part of GT3 out.

Start over, maybe this time I can better manage my garage and not end up with 1500 or more cars bogging everything down :).

 Ah yes...I remember all too well. Very enjoyable all the same. 👍
My first "bomb" I dropped an absolute WAD of credit into, just to make it competitive (for me...I was never that good :dunce: )
That 300$ credit each time enabled you to acquire mods as you needed them.

Granted, the majority of the License tests were indeed, quite tough...but I still feel they offered a much more rewarding challenge than the Licenses in GT5. 👍
The International and Special were tough, but I scraped through with Bronze, content to re-try them later as I improved.

Oh, before I get hit for spamming, I will definitely start fresh...only way to go. :)

Since the discussion of doing licensing is at the beginning of the game, wouldn't be cool if the license test were more series oriented? Street level license(10 events), SGT license(3 races), NASCAR(3 races), etc... that would be a cool new way to use licenses, I think anyways.

I don't see how it would be different. The same gimmick with a different wrapper.

Licenses should be scrapped and replaced with a driving school. Lessons are preceded with lengthy explanations of what is going on and what to expect, as well as common mistakes that one might make or are encourage to make so as to further learning. And of course being a driving school, it doesn't restrict you from doing anything.

As for the question posed, everything from GT5 would come over should I buy GT6. I could immediately get to serious racing. It would probably be the first time I'd have a chance at losing my first race since GT1. And it would be a loss greatly enjoyed.

I started a new profile on GT5 just the other day and after the sunday cup went into the seasonals for the 400 pp Japanese classics. I did not have enough money to buy a good car and bought a 360 out of the UCD, did a few minor upgrades and gave it a go. Needless to say it was not fast enough I could not even catch the 11pth place car and finished dead last.

Surprisingly it granted me a sizable bonus for using such an underpowered car and I got something like 96k credits for last place :) oddly enough I rather enjoyed being trounced for a change.

I added a few more parts and tried again moving up a couple spots but still to slow and then after I got tired of not having a chance I bough a Mazda 110 and gave that a go stock then with minor upgrades.

Most fun I have had racing against AI in quite a while

That is a very interesting idea, and it would be interesting to have the licensing as you described it, but I'm not sure if it should let you race without any "training." I think that you have to take 1 or 2, maybe 3 test to race. Not as much as the amount you must take in previous GTs, but still gives you the feeling of having to start out in drivers school. XD

Interesting. I think general driving and racing instruction, perhaps conducted by previous Academy winners or dare I say Kaz himself, would be an invaluable tool for the franchise if done right and not dumbed down for the masses, like A-Spec is for example.
