Hi I've been playing GT6 nearly every day since release and now am over 50% complete and have unlocked the super licence. I have about 4.5mill in the bank, so thought what the heck let me post a thread comparing GT6 to GT5.
I actually really have enjoyed GT6. The positives are for me compared to GT5:
1. I actually like the new cars, but not so much loving the several MX5's and various different versions of the same car, but hey that's nothing new with GT its been like that from the start.
2. The menus seem a lot more slicker/faster to navigate around, only gripe is that they should have the PIT shop on the start menu shortcut, so I don't have to go all the out way when I change the oil for the first time I drive the car. Not a deal breaker.
3. I do like the new tracks and learning them. I think the AI have improved a little, maybe that's my bad driving or using under powered cars lol
4. I don't have an issue with the MR cars, the Audi R18 is twitchy but not un-driveable
5. The sound of engines I know a lot of people have complained about but PD have said that its going to be fixed in an update. I'm fine with that. No endurance races have also been an issue for certain people, but they've never appealed to me so I'm fine with that. I'm a bit gutted about no B-Spec though, but its been rumoured to be coming in an update.
That's the positives. The negatives are mostly around the economy of buying cars and parts. I've seen numerous threads of people saying GT5 was on par with the GT6 when it was first released. Here are some interesting facts

Ok the amount you win per a race I would agree with the people that say the economies are roughly about the same. But just look at those links and the compare the prize cars!!! GT6 doesn't have A) the same quantity or the same quality of prize cars. Its the only GT I've played, and I've played all of them right from GT1, that doesn't give prize cars after you win a championship. The only logical conclusion I can come to why they've changed it compared to all the previous GT's is to push people towards micro transactions and get people to buy credits. I can't think of any other reason. I find this very frustrating and I've always been mostly an offline player and now find myself always being careful with the credits that I've earned so far hence why I nearly have 5mill. Also I now have no incentive to complete championships, the pay out is poor and no prize car either!!
GT6 Anniversary Edition Cars Vs GT5 Stealth Cars
This is another thing I find really disappointing because apart from all the high PP cars in the anniversary pack, you have to buy gearboxes various other different things!!! Honestly when I paid for the anniversary pack I didn't expect to pay for all the other mods to!!! That means I've paid the extra £20 to just have standard cars with the anniversary livery!!! That means spending more money on cars I thought I would have to only upgrade the turbo on as I did with the Stealth cars in GT5. PD again pushing us towards spending more money, fastest way to get money micro transactions, being pushed again.
Repairing the Stealth cars in GT5 was it 500? Anniversary cars its the same as standard cars in GT6 thousands.
GT6 vs GT5
Trading cars. Currently we cannot trade cars. Honestly with the lack of prize cars lack of pay outs how do people expect to get the cars they really want without doing the glitch??? The economy is seriously broken and I've tried to be factual about the things above with the review, but how are people expected to buy the cars they really want, with the lack of prize cars, not great pay outs and no trading with other people.
Overall I would say it is a good game but I can't help but feel that micro transactions have been rammed down our throat's and as a result it has made GT6 poorer. I could go on and on about other things, but I just don't have the time. I have found the licenses apart from the Super licence a lot easier. I have obtained Gold in all of them. Thanks for reading
