For anyone who doesn't wanna use the NSX Concept in Daily C, the Lexus SC430 is actually very competitive and the NSX GT500 is quite fast aswell, but lacks in the corners. The older GR2 cars are very fast on the straights, quite faster than the modern GR2's. The SC430 can rival the NSX Concept on this track in corners and speed while the NSX GT500 is a bit harder to master in the corners but is also faster than the NSX Concept on the straights. Also, it sounds the best out of them all

I'm finding a little more enjoyment in racing the lesser used cars. For B this week so far I've used the 2011 M3 and SLS and the FT1, all fine to drive on the mediums. Well off the pace but actually interesting to race with against the plethora of Porsches

I find the FT1 so fun to drive, it's on par with sub competitive cars like the Viper, M6, McLaren, Ford GTLM and RCZ. I drove the RCF for my first time at Daily B and it's super fast on the straights, just can't keep up in the corners. But i agree, using less competitive cars is a lot of fun. Can't let them go to waste sitting in the garage.

Recorded/ measured by the game. Not sure how to articulate it. Say you’re qualifying for a new daily race and you put in ten laps. Your optimal time is the best sectors of those ten laps added together? If after those ten laps you retry or exit, and then do another say 5 laps. Does it use all 15 laps to calculate your optimal time or just the laps for a single session (5 laps as the example)? Hopefully that makes sense?🍻
Right, I understand. And no, it doesn't keep them for all 15 laps (in your example). Which kind of sucks.

In GT Sport, when qualifying, there was an option for "best car time" (or something to that effect). GT 7 doesnt have that option. I am always confused on the blue sectors times, example if you get a blue sector time, the optimal time doesnt change, quite often. You would think that it would signify a new best sector time for the Q session. My guess is that the blue sector times are relative to the best lap sector times, which implies that unless the lap time improved, the optimal won't change. Still confused..

Ok this is getting frustrating I can now only do 1-2 races in a row queue for the next one and get a complete application error, game dies and sends the report to Sony and PD.

I have changed zero on my network, hardware. Cleared old games.

The only change I made was to record screen captures in 4K and I've turned that back to HD.

Ideas, thoughts very much appreciated. :(

Edit:

I did get a 3 day PSN ban last week for messaging someone and calling them an expletive muppet....might be related I suppose

Edit 2:

I love Catalunya in GT3 cars with RMs. Something about this track just works for me. I've got a decent QT, and it seems I improve on it fairly regularly. My trend for this week is looking much better.

It's nice to have something other than RH used for once, as it makes so many more cars usable. The 2011 M3 and FT1 are barely driveable for me on Hards as there's just no rear end grip, but the mediums improve it so much. I don't know why PD don't use softs in these short sprint races though.

I've found a lot of people are making mistakes in B this week, lots of crashing too. My Q time isn't amazing and I'm usually starting 12th to last, but have regularly been finishing in the top 10 with a could of 7th place finishes and I'm not even trying, using random non meta cars.

Had a weird one last night. I have a bit of a head cold and that made my driving sub par but the distraction helps alleviate the stuffy head. Anyway, not risking my main account I jumped on the GB alt account. I did race C with a QT in 3rd in a field of only 9. I ended where I started in 3rd well ahead of 4th but several dropped out so only 6 finished. While I finished in 3rd, looking at my DR I lost around 360 points so while I was pleased with 3rd and thought my DR would climb the opposite actually happened. WTF?

Finally! After about 4 P2 and 3 P3 finishes, I got my win at Catalunya 🎉🥳 Started in P2 and was faster than pole but bided my time and waited for the opportunity to come.

He eventually made a mistake and I passed as he served the usual half second penalty. Ended up winning by almost 2 seconds and nabbed fastest lap on the checkered flag 🙂

And most of all, it's my first win ever in the 911 as I usually suck behind the wheel of a Porsche 🤣

Havent tried the lexus yet but normally on other tracks it is faster in a straight line but lacks quite a bit to the nsx and gtr in corners. Will have to try it.

Finding Race B good fun, yet incredibly frustrating at times. But I guess that's online racing with randoms...

Tired of people in front making a mistake, then pulling back on to the racing line at reduced speed to block you, leaving you nowhere to go but into them or lose time braking or avoiding them. This is then nearly always followed by a car that was safely behind forcing their way through and knocking you to the side because you've lost speed. Rinse and repeat until you're nearly last...

This is very much my experience this week. Some races are good but many end up in pileups.

Sometimes I’ve caused the incident, other times (more times) I was the victim.

Now I’m working on a better QT. My current 1:42.426 puts me squarely mid pack where all the carnage happens.

Race C this week is an absolute joy to play. Yes, Suzuka + Gr2 on softs is a brutal and unforgiving combo, but it is still much easier than Super Formula. My interest in Daily Races lately had dropped a lot until this combo turned up. It reminded me of super fun combo of Spa + Gr2. Maybe I am basically realizing that my favorite class is Gr2 and not Gr3.

Folks in this combo have been surprisingly clean. Maybe it is because only very serious folks are taking part due to the unforgiving nature. There still are issues like a few folks not giving space, bumping from behind, and turning without any spatial awareness, but not really malicious in nature and still much cleaner than most events in last one month.

Lags and stutters are still occasionally happening. But it is nowhere as bad as it was a few weeks back.

I love it every time I take 130R flat out. Not as satisfying as taking Raidillon at Spa flat out but still pretty nice. It is pretty intense to maintain constant gap to front and rear guys for 10 laps non-stop by taking up all the track space, including the white lines and hitting braking points consistently. And immensely satisfying. I love how sometimes the cloud covers make the track look pretty dark, and kinda forces a bit of inconsistency among us, as witnessed by my own minute errors as well as gaps to front and rear folks changing.

Here's hoping that whenever PD adds a non-strategic race, they use an intense combo like this.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. Certainly my favorite this week, though with a current head cold I couldn't handle the speed of it tonight to I did race B instead. There was a lot less sportsmanship in B than what I saw in C. I think you are right in that the brutality of it keeps the riff-raff away. That's how I like it (though at times I can be one of those riff-raff :D ).

It wouldn't be anything to do with a ban you just wouldn't be able to access the PSN at all, it wouldn't crash anything.

Probably too obvious but you have reinstalled the game?

Are you referring to the blue and red timer during qualifying that’s in the middle of your screen that constantly changes? As far as I’m aware of that timer records, how far ahead or behind you are at that specific point compared to the fastest lap that session. from the fastest lap during the session, not your recorded fastest lap. So that’s confusing as ****. So basically, you can use that timer to determine how fast or slow you get through specific corners, but if it goes blue, that doesn’t mean that that sector is faster. Sorry it’s probably doesn’t make that much sense. Hardly making sense to me trying to get it out of my head well hopefully this helps. Please tell me if I’m completely wasting everybody’s time or you need to try to clarify myself. I have a such a hard time articulating the things I would like to get out of my head I don’t know.🍻

Just had a really fun 30 mins at Barcelona 🙂 Tried different cars for the fun of it and the Ferrari was unbelievable! I shaved off almost 2 tenths from my best time driving the Huracan and finally made it into the 1:40s 🥳

Hopped in a race full of A/S drivers and started P6. The race was close and amazing from start to finish with loads of great battles with zero contact and brilliant sportsmanship from everyone!

Finished in P4 and was super happy. I'm uploading the replay to YT but won't be online anymore today as soon leaving house to attend a wedding... Hope you all have as much fun and luck with those around you to enjoy the weekend!

Good luck 🙂

This is what I am seeing:

Dailies for the next week (06/26/2023):
A - Sardegna Road Track C, BoP On, viper gts '13, Sport Hard, 5 Laps
B - Leguna Seca, Grp 4, BoP On, Racing Soft, 6 Laps
C - Watkins Glen Long Course, Grp 3, BoP On, Racing Soft and Hard Both Mandatory, 10 Laps, 1x Fuel / 6x Tire Wear

Not too bad!
that race C is nearly exactly the wednesday's manu (gt2=15 laps). I don't think they've tied those together so closely before. Not complaining, WG on softs is fun! And great practice, but of course now everyone will be dialed in.

I've got to high B/S this week, and have ended up in races with a few "celebs"...

I had a race C today with M.Hizal and V.Gallo - I assume it was the real ones - Hizal was in the CLK and won by miles and Gallo in the 08 NSX came through to 4th from somewhere near the back. I ran with him for a few corners, he later went off and rejoined and I ran on the gravel trying to avoid him - but I got a ridiculous penalty for "forcing another car off the road"! I uploaded the race to my gallery - incident happens around lap 4 or 5 I think.

I had another race with Eerieiesss in it - I ran 8th in the 08 NSX for a while but finished 11th. The next race, I started 4th - with Kimi Velocini right behind me:irked: - it went as expected. Ran me on the grass and then he punted his way to first, then slowed up and messed everyone else up. I managed to pass him on the grass later as he did his best to take me out again, and I finished 2nd.

I wish we had Gr2 every week - absolutely love driving them, even if I do have to prise my poor old fingers off the controller after a couple of races

If this is the races I have to say PD are finally listening!

Laguna will be my quick race go to but WG with a pit stop is seriously interesting!
