I'm being continuously put in mixed lobbies, with a majority of DR A players, 2 to 3 DR A+ (Barney Da Dog was on pole in one of those races) and few DR B (like me). Is this because I'm at ar 80/85% DR B? If Yes, why do I have to deal with DR A+ guys also?
Could it be because of people getting a hit in their SR rating? The pooling of players for a race start with SR, so if there is a wide spread of SR the game will be looking in other DR group to fill the room with same SR.

I don't think so. I'm SR S and the others DR B players in mixed lobbies were also SR S, but SR of DR A players was varying from B to S and A+'s SR between A and S.
I start to think that it may be due to two factors: my QT was yesterday within the 500 fastest overall (within 150 fastest B) coupled with the fact that I'm near to rank up to DR A. I've seen there's always ar 1 sec gap between poleman and 10th-12th at start. That is also a tool PD uses in matchmaking, I guess (not so sure btw). I fear that if I go below 56 with my QT I'll end up in lobbies with majority of A+ drivers. I'm now really thinking to "sandbag" with my improvements even if I know where to gain that 1/2 sec left.

Make sense, I also get put in top split lobby when I was top DR.B. But I don't play at peak hour most of the time, so less player count.

I also sandbag my QT to try avoid those lonely races in 14th where everybody in front pulls away. The other reason for sandbagging is the difference in laptime between cold start lap and 30th lap where you in the zone. That way, even if I'm 14th I know I can fight for a better finish and have some action in my races.

Ok I'm not the best race driver but racing in Daily B today is frustrating, I'm getting penalties and body damage left and right, even when passing others at a conservative line. Monday and today in every lobby (DR mid B) every player has had the yellow 2 bar network connectivity icon, I think the multiplayer servers are not suited for races at near 400 kph.

Your qualifying time has nothing to do with the matchmaking. The matchmaking logic is purely a sort of 1) DR letter (so all A+s first regardless of their SR, then all As, then Bs and so on), then 2) SR score (so a bad SR score drops you behind other people of the same DR letter even if your DR score is better than theirs), then 3) DR score.

If you're a B DR driver and in a lobby that also has A+ DR drivers, the only reason for that is that there aren't enough A DR players in that race to fill a lobby.

Is this because I'm at ar 80/85% DR B? If Yes, why do I have to deal with DR A+ guys also? Starting always in mid pack (6th or 7th), I see that I could survive, unless (like in the race where Barney was 1st) when there was an idiot hitting whom ever was in front of him since first braking. I got 4 sec penalty because of him divebombing and hitting somebody (while I was cautious, leaving room and taking my line) bouncing back against me when I was already committed to my line (very internal). Still wondering from where that 4 sec penalty came from. 14th at first lap to end up 9th (with the "hitman" behind me). In these lobbies I see my weekend going two ways. Either I rank up to A (with placements mid pack) or I go back to C cause of inevitable accidents. Let's see.
The best way to progress in DR is to be matched with much higher ranked opponents because you have significant more points to gain than to lose. If the difference is big enough you can even gain DR finishing last.

By the other way, aliens with High A+ rating have to pick very carefully the time to race because unpopulated lobbies mean a big hit on their DR even winning those races.

Wow, I do like this Le Mans race, but it's been an absolute KILLER for me. A+ S on Monday, and B C now. This bump draft has caused me to collide with others and frustrations have caused me to quit. Oh well, gives me more reason to try better. On the upside, I pocketed a couple of wins since the ratings hit. 💩

I swear they do this every so often as a sort of natural culling/rebalancing.

They are completely aware of these issues but run with them any way. That applies to B as well this week.

When your DR is about to being reset, the "trick" to rebuild SR is to pick some race A or B just to park it on the pits.
I had to do it on that week of Gr1 at Monza.
I Know, its boring and it has some DR costs but it is what it is.

Im still racing at Le Mans with no SR hits and bump drafting the whole race.
You just have to avoid the bump at full throttle and also avoid it at all if your speed is significant higher than the car ahead.

No.

Careful, yes, because a second place in a lobby of 15 much lower ranks will be a significant loss. But a win will always be a gain, even if I'm at 80,000 DR and my opponents have 7,000. It'll be a "gain" of about 2-3 points or thereabouts if the opponents are that extremely low ranked but you won't lose DR by winning, even if the opponents are the worst and low ranked you could find.

I used to track this thing in detail back in GT Sport when we had access via kudosprime to the exact numbers and could see them update after every race.

Where can you see your QT in comparison with others with the same DR?

I believe you are correct, but is it really so important? Yes, I want to be in the rooms with SR S players, but I can earn my way back in a few races next week. A low DR/SR doesn't stop me from anything.

Maybe something changed from GTS to GT7? because I saw it happen in American top splits.
I saw in Rory's stream both Naïf and Laporty loosing DR when winning in A/A+ lobbies this was a month or so ago.
A few months ago I saw someone losing DR points after winning in my lobby and I remember the case because it was the after race topic in the chat.

Edit: maybe what @Hasnain282 posted could explain the case... I didnt consider that.

This'll be if they left or disconnected from another race and then did this one
They probably lost more from leaving than they gained from winning the next one
(Unless of course the algorithm has been changed)
I can't remember accurately enough to be certain and I'm not going through streams but I'm sure there was a morning session where Laporty won 3/4 on the bounce and was losing DR in most of them.

BUT I can't say I'm accurate on it, just it was discussed in chat at the time.

Side note @Nebuc72 im using gcooley_66 as my VR only account as an FYI I couldn't add you because of settings

It would be nice if they simply SHOWED the numbers like they do with everything else. I'd MUCH MUCH MUCH rather they tell me my SR and DR score than the amount of fuel I've burned 🙄

I've seen/experienced to the contrary. You can win a race and lose Dr. 👍

Just tried some QT in VR for daily B.

The car (R92C) is fine and looks spectacular in VR with the gull-wing Perspex.

Even at FFB 4 the wheel shakes so badly, not even to the point it feels immersive and fun, this is violent. Now I'd love to live out my le man fantasies but there comes a point that even the most sims of sims dial it back a bit. And I can say there is not one professional driver would race that in the real world.

What a pointless race this daily B is (said from a DD wheel user, it might be awesome on a controller to be fair)

This having to change torque per car thing needs to be fixed, I pick a resistance value, how about PD you match that to the car settings rather than I have to do the heavy lifting. Lazy.

The oscillation thing is absolutely ridiculous quite frankly, there is a warning above in game FFB 5 but even below that you can lose fillings in your teeth such is the poor settings.

What an utter joy ruiner this weeks dailies are, dress them up how ever you want but they weren't designed for the core players of the small number we are.

I'm so glad I'm not actually racing this week and just learning VR which is awesome but not gonna do dailies in it until they can be bothered to test the ones they put out

Right mate. I totally agree with your statement. Numbers show more proof as to where you stand in the rankings and letter chart. I can't believe they put Trial Mountain in the A slot. This is the first time I've seen that track in that position. I wonder if PD has a computer system that randomly selects the cars and tracks for each week, (Races A,B, and C).

Numbers, letters, bandings doesn't matter in reality they are the metrics that is all. Racing is what matters and how well you race. Numbers come and go but races are what you remember.

TM in A makes sense it seems like they are rotating the races around now and for the A regular racers you are in for a treat if it's the same tuned cars. The Beemer is meta but it's a seriously fun race on a fun track. I'll definitely be doing that one!

Edit: if they have a random race generator I'll eat my virtual hat. These are calculated and planned weeks in advance for testing reasons, there is no way in hell they didn't know about the steering oscillation as they have for months quite honestly.

Hit the point in Race C today where a lot of the competition were A DR - trouble was most of them were B or C SR, and boy did it show. They were the dirtiest races I've seen all week, and I had my first SR down of the week - got caught up in the general mess, and SR went from top end of S to A in one race!

Slowly rebuilding it.....

To me it is important but not for the "status".
I was demoted some time ago (Monza, again) and paired angainst others B and C SR rated players.

The standards of those races... It felt like being summoned on hell

Mentally they are racing a different race.

It's a really different kind of race at those levels mate

I think B could be the SF23/Toyota, as one of the events involved with the TGR Cup World Finals is set at RBR. I also think that at the minimum, Race A and C will have a credit boost.
I didn't consider the cross over! Fair point on that.

Good shout as well on the credit multipliers although I'm not sure the race C crowd is to bothered by that.

If it is a tie in that would be really interesting as I genuinely don't think most daily race peeps care about the tournament events, at least based on my leaderboards

Mental is more like it 😂 - unfortunately they were so good at taking one another out that my DR continued to rise!

Not sure what to expect tomorrow now.....
Wrote a whole bunch of words, focus on being on pace and avoiding here and there. Don't defend until lap 5 by then you should be about 5th and if you were concentrating on pace maybe higher.
