The one thing I do hate about the Ring is that final sequence, it's so difficult to safely navigate those final curves when fighting for position.
Yeah, the whole track is sort of like that, but especially the last few corners with the win on the line and the chasers usually have a huge run on you after the long back straight. You really need a willing dance partner and someone who knows when to fight and when to lay back. When it all clicks, it is so fun and so satisfying.

I think it's OK to share this crude video of yesterday's race with @Dairyworker as we've established there is no ill-intent in our coming together. It was a great, pressure packed race that while it ended in tears, was super exciting and a real blast to be part of. Great display of sportsmanship there, too.

And yes, the pressure is higher when there's another GT Planet member involved.

Great racing at the Ring, thanks again for the fun race.

Almost as fun to watch as it was to run. Man it hurts to watch the ending though lol

I actually was gonna share the replay myself when i got home from work, although I'm not sure i saved it tbh

I can’t get to B or C this week as I am too addicted to A again, ive never been a big fan of A but the past few weeks have really got me hooked into it.

I’m so addicted I don’t even think ill bother with the GTWS later today, that 911 is pure evil, if that’s how its drives in real life i am not buying one when i win the lottery, I wont be rich for long cos ill be deed within the first couple days of owning it.😇

Got my time down to 7,58:132 but my optimal time is low 7,56:xxx, gotta keep pushing…. I’m coming @GOTMAXPOWER you best do another blindfolded lap to keep me off you.

On the race, provided there no aliens in the race it easily gets me pole position and provided I don’t bin it, the win is mine for the taking :D

Nice lap and game on! I haven't raced the Nurburgring since Monday morning but will have to get some more in before the end of the week.

I don't do daily races much but I jumped into one at the ring today and I guess my pace is just too much for my level (C,S) because my qualifying lap was ten seconds faster than anyone in my lobby. I drove pretty leisurely and was well ahead of second place at the line. I had hoped for a little more of a battle but second place couldn't get near me.

It's a lot of fun though. That car is pretty capable. Might do a few more.

Managed a race B in my lunch break today which I hoped would fair better than Monday when I was punted off first corner 😁 that was in the supra and didn’t much like that

Tried the Porsche today and managed to get my QT down to 1.38.1xx and a 37s is there for the taking.

Touch wood the chicane hasn’t got me yet 😉

Hope yr all having a good week and your racing is shaping up 👍

Been trying race B this week. Haven't done a Gr3 race in so long, I've lost quite a bit of speed. So trying at the moment to get some spatial awareness back and just make it to the end. I then had a really good race above until the game decided to give me a stupid penalty.

The Mercedes was very apologetic, even though I felt he didn't need to be. It wasn't anyone's fault but those two seconds ruined my race.

There really is no excuse for that penalty, just sheer laziness from PD. Hopeless.

Went into some Race C action in the NSX Gr.4. Didn't improve on my 1:54.740 QT.

Race 1: Started P2. An early penalty cost me a couple places. Some minor mental errors kept me there for a handful of laps. Had a decent last gasp scrap for the final podium spot with another NSX. Finished P4.

Race 2: Started P3. Some aggressive traffic and a penalty cost me a handful of positions. Managed to recover a few. Finished P5.

Race 3: Started P7. Managed to avoid cars that got the bus stop wrong on Laps 1 and 2 without getting murdered, gaining a few places. Finished P5.

Had to make it a short race day. My pace was OK. Three Top 5 finishes is pretty good, even if I only gained positions in one race. Outrunning the slipstream was difficult. I'm not mad at losing two potential podiums to mistakes.

My new mantra for daily races shall now be:

If in doubt, back the hell out.
and
If they're up your a**, let them pass.

Yup, either they’re faster so let ‘em go or you’ll both be slowed down. Or they’re overdriving the car in which case they’ll probably bin it. If they’re dirty, also let ‘em go or they’ll take you out!

I got caught by a Genesis at WG yesterday. Let ‘em go. He then made a mistake so I caught him and he just side swiped me into the grass. Of course, no penalty b/c GT only recognizes rear end punts apparently?

The Porsche seems to be really competitive in the race - I did 4 races this afternoon, 911s won every one!

Lots to digest so bare with me 😂

First, need to say well done again and thanks to @newmedia_dev for posting his epic Watkins Glen lap replay! Helped me shave almost half a second from my lap time (PB now at 1:54:1) and I even had a 1:53:8 optimal during my session! I also put in another round and even though I did not go faster, I found my flow and was able to be super consistent in the 1:54:2 ~ 1:54:5 range over a number of laps.

Feeling confident, I hopped into a race and oh boy, PD had a surprise for me! I think most of the Top 50 where in my lobby lol and I started in P13... Was up to P8 at some point but ended the race in P10. Tried a strategy, which was to let P9 behind me past (he was a rocket and I overtook when he got a penalty) and use him to go faster and keep my position until the finish line.

Unfortunately, I was overtaken, quite unsportsmanlike in my opinion, either way and hence the P10 finish. Will upload highlights later as I really had to be at 110% all race as it was like I was driving a Fiat Panda at times, they made me feel so slow!!! 😐😮 There was a moment, though... I am super happy with. A very quick driver was catching up fast on the start/ finish so I let him past at the very end, planning the olde' switcheroo and I executed it perfectly 🥳😅😎 Uploaded that move and available below for your entertainment lol 😋

I didn't improve my time for Watkins Glen, but I got close a few times. I know I can do it, it's just hard to string all the sectors together.

Anyway, my first race had me in P10. I got shoved aside twice on the opening lap. The first looked to be incidental, but still annoying. the second was deliberate and I returned the favor in turn 1. I got a retaliation shove against me and fell down the grid because apparently you can dish it out, but not have a taste of your own medicine. I finish P13.

Race 2 was one of the best I've had and I wish every race was like this one. In the bus stop on lap 1, some drivers checked up, so I checked up, but I still got into the back of some one. Just a big mess all around and nobody had no where to go. After all of that, there was a line of 5 drivers all in a line turning laps with me as the caboose when we started. We all swap spots and eventually I finish P7. It felt like a proper race you see on the TV.

My last race was similar to the second one with close racing and clean driving. In the final laps I'm in P8 and P7 messes up turn 1 by going wide. So I got for the pass and at the same time they get the car sideways and it's heading directly at me. I try and get out of they way but I just get clipped and get spun and finish P10. I had a shot at P5 but dumb luck had other plans. They didn't even apologize afterwards. I'm just bummed out after that.

I am just a bad luck magnet I guess. I can't catch a break lately. The racing has been great for the most part, I'm just in the wrong place at the wrong time

I hear you there! 56.4 and the racing is junk! Divebombs and no room! Think I May be done this week

Playing on the euro circuit. I still suck even in the mid Bs. :D:D

Did 3 Cs. Try the Cayman, Megane and NSX. Came last in the first, 2nd to last I think and was 6th in the last. None of the races were won with an NSX.

My performance makes me think I should give up the game, sell the rig and take up knitting.

:D

Perhaps beer would help?

Edit. Just tried a fourth race. Got punted out on the first corner second lap. So far behind the pack that I just gave up and quit. I’m completely done.

So it might be my slow performance and my woes are all due to my brake peddle again. I thought that was fixed and recalibrated, but it decided to glitch out again so I was dragging about 2 1/2 to 3% brake through all my euro races.:banghead:

After realizing that I recalibrated it and then went to about setting new QT on both my abroad and VR accounts. Just a few minutes before the game went off-line.

Perhaps I’ll try another race after the software update.

It’s strange how we never see Porsche as the meta but for me the handling is just so friendly compared to all other gr3 🤷‍♂️
By the same token, it's strange how the qualifying meta isn't always the race meta (at least not at B/S level).
