GT7 Online races pulling my hair out

On a circuit gold experience ?
On the CE and the Daily B the current number #1 time is 1.31:5

You've got me wondering here, is there a way of checking record times for circuit experience gold times on the ps5 or even viewing the replays
Yes, to both of those things.

All leaderboards for all events are readily viewable in the game (look for the podium icon in the menu), and the replays can be downloaded for any time that was in the top ten when it was set - as indicated by the little "play" icon on that replay - and then used as a ghost.

That's why I said this:

Try downloading some of the ghosts of the top times and following them
It applies to Circuit Experiences, Daily Race qualifying, Time Trials, missions, licences...

Edit: Apparently it doesn't apply to Circuit Experiences. Weird. But you can use the Demonstration time as a ghost.

Edit: While I'm in there, one more lap can't hurt. 1:34.6

I was able to do it again in a couple of tries in VR with a wheel. So clearly it's not a hardware issue.

*control input type for clarity
curious are you faster with the vr head set

Thanks that's what I need 😊 I never spotted it.
I did spot the the ability to load ghosts, an I was keeping up with the high end 1.32 second laps but fading of slightly on the last 3rd of the lap just now . I think I'm struggling with left hand apex exit corners at the moment on ps5. I've just noticed after loading the ghosts. I thought none of these functions where there.

I guess I should give the ps5 more time before.buying an Xbox series X and going back to Forza.

I do like the on line sport mode tho. And the way on which it matches you with your times and other players.

The only complaint I have tho is being put in races where by players have only achieved a one of low lap time and are not consistent.

About the same, in QT I will definitely be faster (only had VR for a week or so and beaten half of my grinded bumper cam times and beaten a few of the license ghosts) but previously for Daily races I can usually QT in the top 800 most weeks.

I have tried racing back in Bumper Cam I just can't go the pace I used to. VR is an absolute game changer especially if you are fairly quick to begin with (stick roughly with the faster ghosts consistently, obviously losing time but 1/10ths or 1/100s)

That's great the top 800 is good you will improve for sure if you've only had it a week and your already beating your times.

What vr did you go for, I've been looking at this version

A bit pricey but I guess you get what you pay for.

I've also noticed there's a lot less lags in online sport mode than there is on multiplayer, 4k on multiplayer could work better there for sure, I was really disappointed with the online multi player as to how many lags there was in front for me, it's so of putting to see drivers twitching and stuttering in front of you because of a server issue in 4 k mode, but no such problems when setting your ps5 to 1080 p on multi player mode.

However in online daily races sport mode 4 k is fine compared to multiplayer mode, i guess ps5 must be putting the online daily races on a premium server.

Or they simply haven't the bandwidth to cope with the demand for multiplayer mode when setting your ps5 to race in multi player in 4k mode.

I'll be honest I would disregard a lot of that creators content....but moving on.

Just did the Kyoto CE on my US account as I hadn't done it. Less that 8 mins start to finish all gold and 1 second faster than the gold time for the final lap.

I tried all the sectors a few times and the final lap once. All VR as you'll see in the video. Sector 2 I felt I did a nice first lap (after the crash lap which was the only non gold lap)

1:34 6 cool 😎. I thought it just wasn't possible in circuit experience. Can you download the best times for replays for the qualifiers in online sport mode ?.

But one min 1.34.6 I'll have to send you invite next week hopefully to race 😊.

I made a mistake in the penultimate corner so would have been 1.33.8/9 and this is without grinding or sweating it hard

Edit:

This is without doing any warm up or driving today and done in less than a daily mileage ticket. So when we talk about skill it's all relative to the things we measure ourselves against.

It is VR2 as that's the only Sony one.

I did 5 more laps and just had a single bit of too much exit oversteer but near as damn it 1.33

Got me curious, so I gave it a go. That was rough! I'm a B/S driver and way slower than a lot of the people here. It took 9 attempts to barely scrape an ugly gold time of 1:35.373 for the 1 Lap Attack with a pad. 😤

As for experiences online at this track, I've had good and bad ones. Dealing with traffic up the esses and through the chicanes is a crapshoot, and I can't count how many times I've been punted braking for the Turn 12 hairpin.

Cool 😎.

I was looking at the vr2, more of a realistic price range I feel but may I ask do you suffer any double imaging at times or any ghosting effects , I need to go try some out some where, but I have no idea where to try them yet. How's the sharpness on long distance cars and how big does the picture look when you have one on.

I've been been trying the BMW out you set that lap time in just now I've noticed you don't need to change any throttle going up the first hill on windy bends ie hit full throttle in 5th gear and keep it there all the way up, I've not been able to do that in any other car,

Your to hard on yourself that was excellent ☺️

Half a second of beating the fastest possible over all sector times for the whole lap is first class friend especially since you've only just practiced a little while.

Little mistakes here and there is fine, it's just how you correct them straight away and bounce back that matters ☺️.

I find it's possible to be consistent on each lap like within a second or so but its not possible to constantly hit the same record times every lap, because no matter what set up you have, you never quite have the ultimate real feeling as actually being inside the car but you can get close.

My complaint most is being put in online races where by player do 5 secs behind there record then ten then 7 then just get one lap close to there record consistently. But you know you can adjust and back of and pass them after they skid.

But then your losing time on first place. But hey we've all been there I guess. Maybe it's right maybe it's wrong who can say. Maybe putting these type of players in your race will make them a better driver, who knows ☺️

But maybe Sony could monitor this and set match making up accordingly

Yes, because that's...just how it works. It's called consistency.

It works a little differently in hotlapping, but peeps that are very good and experienced can do laps within half a second consistently.

I just watched it again I feel you lost a bit of speed on the first bend, try breaking just half way on the first break zone and just in the break zone only, then let go of the triggers just as you come out of the break zone and just coast round as soon as it starts to drop speed then throttle gently then more. Then there's another long bend just like that just after the first up hill windy bends. Do the same just break 50 percent in the break zone only let go of the triggers let it coast in fifth gear to begin with then Do nothing with the triggers and just just gear down to fourth let it coast still, then as soon as you see the speed drop just before the apex hit throttle gently to full throttle, you'll gain at least a second or two.

I have to say to your entry on the corner just after the second long sweeping left hand bend and exit was world class friend ☺️

Ok I believe you finally got gold but I went back and recorded two sessions in bumper cam. These are a bit ragged as I’m not used to bumper these days as I usually drive in VR but this’ll give you a taste of how I do it. Both are slower than my current VR times.

Thanks! My G29 lap was a scrappy 1:34.466. 😬

Hopefully you get matched with players who don't try to murder you. Good luck out there!

All of this thread kinda had me curios, so I also gave it a try.
Note: I'm an A+ ranked driver, but with a wheel. I haven't played GT with a pad seriously in almost 20 years. Still, I was curious how I would perform with a pad.

My first try was a 1:36.198, but I was massively caught out by the understeer into corners under braking. I also messed up the chicane pretty hard.
The 2nd try then was a 1:34.791, in a lap I still wouldn't consider anywhere near to good.

So it's easily doable. As a new driver coming from Forza of all things, you still have plenty of things to learn.
As @watto79 pointed out, the different tire temperatures are a likely explanation on your differences between Daily race Time Trial and this Circuit Experience.
