old people with bad eyes can see and enjoy it better
I appreciate the thought from Kaz.

Now if he could allow us to correct the geometry of the image so that my prismatic astigmatic eyes can actually look at square objects as squares and not trapezoids /quadrilateral with color diffraction that would be helpful as well! :D

You might have to get that request translated for him. I'm English and I struggled.
さて、彼が画像のジオメトリを修正することを許可して、私のプリズム乱視の目が実際に四角いオブジェクトを色回折のある台形/四辺形ではなく正方形として見ることができるようにすることができれば、それも役に立ちます!

Edit: I translated this back into English. Not bad!

Well, if you can allow him to modify the geometry of the image so that my prismatic eyes can actually see square objects as squares instead of color-difractioned trapezoids/quadragons, it will also be helpful!

Do you also have a Pro and have you experienced Pro-jection?

Looks the same to me. Didn't notice any differences. Fidelity seemed identical, UI clearer as it's bigger so that could be throwing you off?

I jumped straight to MFGT after 3 hours of psvr2 play in GT7, so im pretty sure there is something different, as i noticed it right away even though I didnt expected any changes..

Im pretty sure it runs full resolution. Dont know where they have slimmed the game or graphics to make it run so.

subscribed to learn more about the quadragons.

Hi guys ! Have been playing GT7 VR on a Ps5 PRO since friday and here some things I´ve noticed and wanted to share with you.

- The draw distance is WAY better than on base PS5. If someone was doubting this, by Kaz-sama it´s better now. There are not spoilers and diffusors dissapearing 50 meters in front of you anymore. It´s a great feature on PRO.

- Car lights behind you are way more intense. On a clouded SPA race (race C) the lights of the cars behind are clearer and much more prevalent than on base ps5 as well.

- PSSR glitches ... There are numbers of glitches, but some are quite strange. IE. On a MCLaren GT650s (again, tested on SPA) you can see the doubling of some parts of the hud (upper part of the tires) but if you try and see that "from above" the doublng effect dissapear. It´s quite strange. Also it seems to happen on some cars, and not in others. Yes, it´s ugly, but I can live with it. I use some parts of the hud because it helps my brain focus on a point and helped me a lot with dizziness when started playing on VR.

- Tried the flat game while cleaning my headset and while great looking with RT and all those things I just can´t play it... it was a great looking "game", but a game nonetheless. Once VR always VR. Take that into account if you want to try GT7 that way. There is no turning back....

Going to keep playing and see if I can get more impressions. Haven´t tried MFGT yet to see if there´s any difference with the full game on image quality or effects or even PSSR glitches.

Thanks for this

Do the graphics appear clearer in PSVR2 with the pro compared to the base model?

Fascinating. So, you know like, from the driver seat we can see reflections of our helmet from the instrument cluster. Well, since the updated graphics, I’m driving my MP4/4. I can see my helmet reflected in the small glass of the instruments. Holy smokes and gee whiz! I start bobbing my head as the Biggie music from Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse, is playing on my iPad. The reflection is copying my head movements!

The reflections didn’t do that complicated animation. Before, I could see the image of the angle I moved, but not the animation of me moving my head. PD are nuts!

This is what I mentioned in March of 2023, about the reflection:
For real.

….and time out. I did another Le Mans race in the 917LL. This time, not only seeing the reflection of the avatar in the center of the steering wheel, I leaned forward to have a look at the reflection and the reflection leans forward as well.:lol: Just amazing, man.
Now, it’s a full on real time, at speed, mirrored reflection. Insane.

Edit:
What I observed last year.

Just now.

Having been playing Gran Turismo for a year I'm now seriously considering jumping on the VR2 train just for this game. While I've searched and read about its pros & cons, I'm still wary, now that I'm starting to enjoy more of Sport mode 'endurance-like' races, whether the lack of HUD/leaderboard info (not even as a temporary button-press option) will somehow be a sort of dealbreaker for all the immersion of being there I will get from driving in VR mode.

For those of you who missed the HUD info (gaps from/to other racers, tire compound and refuelling info, etc) when switching to VR mode ... has it prevented you from doing more of, i.e. 'C' daily races or the long weekly challenge race events?

Tire and fuel is still there in the HUD and when refuelling so it doesn't matter for longer races. All the info you actually need is present, there's just some (like car timings) that isn't that would be nice to have.

For me the lack of some of the race info became a non issue very quickly.

You really can't put in to words what it feels like to be "in the car" and the affect it has on braking, car positioning and close racing.

It hasn't prevented me doing longer or shorter races, on the contrary I just want to do any race as it's more time in the seat!

One thing that did and still is needing me to adjust to is situational awareness in lots of traffic. Some cars it's ok and the mirrors/radar do a good job. But some cars have a few blind spots like the radical. Also in traffic it can be overwhelming to know which way to glance, it just takes practice.

A good set of 3D headphones helps a lot. I find that I can tell, with great accuracy, where the other cars are around me just from the positional sounds of their engines, even when in heavy traffic.

I think I'm sold on it now :D
Every single time I strap myself into my haptics-enabled rig and don my helmet (PSVR2), I thank my lucky stars that I'm alive in a time-period where I can experience such immersive and adrenaline-inducing risk-free racing from the comfort of my own home and at no extra expense after buying the equipment. I'm a techie and an engineer; in my younger days I worked on defence tech that I still can't talk about without being locked up. I'm also an accomplished ex-racer who had to stop due to spine issues. My point is that it takes a lot to impress me tech-wise, and over a decade of RL racing experience suggests that I'm going to get very quickly bored with a PS5 game that simply feels like a 'game' e.g. GT7 on a flat-screen.

Again: every single time I strap myself into my rig and don my helmet, I thank my lucky stars that I'm alive in a time-period where I can experience such immersive and adrenaline-inducing racing from the comfort of my own home.

And I cannot for the life of me understand why GT7 in VR is not more popular than it is ...it's like eating backed beans on toast every day and then suddenly discovering king prawn biryani!

The entry price point is not easily accessible to a lot of people...

US original price is $600 and more elsewhere... but currently it has been lowered by over 40% to $350 since Black Friday, which is much better and reasonable... over 20k people have bought it

anyone still on the fence, but who love GT, and have a decent steering wheel set up, just do it, $350 is definitely worth it with an extra game.... i know i would get it now if i didn't already have the PSVR2 since day one...

It usually goes like this:
  1. Thinking about buying the VR, reading about it, having second thoughts
  2. Making the decision
  3. Buying the VR
  4. HOLY MOTHER OF JESUS
  5. Only drive GT7 in VR and don't play any other games anymore
i would like to amend your steps:
  1. Thinking about buying the VR, reading about it, having second thoughts
  2. Making the decision
  3. Buying the VR
    1. trying it for the first few moment, having second thoughts until your brain catches up to it:
  4. HOLY MOTHER OF JESUS
  5. Only drive GT7 in VR and don't play any other games anymore

For those that only do single player content here is me doing the Special Event JGTC in VR with AI on hard.

What you see is not what you see in VR all the physical distances are greater and the actual Field of View is narrower. The door physically looks the correct perspective and distance from you, to the point you can gauge how far you'd have to reach to touch it. Obviously everything has a rich depth to it.

This console game capture and then YT compressed/encoded as well so the floating HUD are crystal sharp in VR

The LOD drawing distance is actually very helpful in basic ps5 psvr2. We dont have split times in VR2, but as soon as you loose LOD from the car in front, you know you are about to drop from the draft..😆
