I wanted to ask you, since with the update 1.06 they decided after some complaints to decrease the screen effects.. (smoke tires, debris in the dirt tracks and raised water).. for me instead created much more immersive gameplay.
If you can loudly ask polyphony to implement an option in the settings to choose how to use the effects if reduced (1.06) or improved (1.05), it would be a solution that would be good for everyone.

If someone has other comparisons and documentation is free to post it, the more we complain.. the higher the probability of it being fixed.

Thank you all, and I apologize for my terrible English.

Options would always be great, but devs rarely do it for whatever reasons. But I agree, I want it back because it's not the same game and immersion anymore.
It would be the best solution, you feel very much this reduction of species effects by driving from the cockpit online with other players.

It's very cartoonish to finish a rally race with not even a speck of dirt on your car, never mind all the dust effects being invisible in third person.
This should also be fixed, they should start to restore the old effects or add a setting to do so.

I was the first person to document this on tje fourms after reading a reddit post where some one said the tire smoke was reduced , I discovered that rain spray , tire smoke , off track dust , dust on your vehicle , Debree from going off track , and sparks were all either reduced or eliminated all together.

Great, much more than I thought.
It is urgent to make polyphony understand to restore all the effects or implement a setting to do so, perhaps asking it in more people..

'Urgent' is probably over-stating it, but it would be good for sure
Maybe it’s exaggerated, but so they killed the immersivity, and it was one of the great things about the game, but they thought they’d ruin it.

Now with reduced farming race payouts it's more urgent than ever. It was really fun to play with the effects and/or take nice photos or replays of it.

Urgent is correct .
Look folks , PD downgraded the graphics on suzuka in sport and no one said anything. That Downgarde was inherited into the ps5 version of 7.
PD broke particle effects on Red bull Ring in GTS , the grass no longer kicks uo rubble or dust once they added rain even when the weather was dry , never fixed.
PD , very early on , added a visual effect when going off road in sport where the grass and sand trap debree would be emited from your tires for a few seconds after comming back om track , this was removed late into sports life for no reason.
PD broke skid marks on some versions of Willow Springs and never fixed them.
PD also removed storm drains on accident in tokyo expressway and this was fixed in 1.06.. In GT7.. They are missing in 1.05 and bellow.

I prefer to settle the question of effects, I enjoyed playing with them much more. Especially running in the rain or in Drift’s rooms.

Exactly, on PS5 such a thing is unacceptable.

However, they have to find a solution, either restore the effects like 1.05 or add a setting to select the amount of effects, so it would be good for everyone.
We’ll have to ask everyone together for it to be fixated, so that Polyphony can understand that they made a mistake.

Options are the key here as always, the same with the camera settings. You can't statisfy everybody, but you can make it alot more comfy by just giving us the options and choose the way we like it instead of forcing it on us.

But for some reason PD doesn't like to give options.

Seriously a setting with two choices would be enough, Reduced Effects / Enhanced or Full Effects.
I don't think it's very difficult to do, right PD ?!

I’m really sad about this, they ruined a game, PD is not able to handle a game. If this problem will not be fixed within some update, I think I will sell the game, I do not want to play in these conditions.

Have they removed puddles as well? I've just done the 30 laps Tsukuba and 30 mins HSR Mission races and noticed a lot less puddles. Makes it really hard to judge and you just end up spinning out for no reason.

It's a shame they reduced the effects so much. One of the early 1.05 rally effects was a little excessive – I could barely see the track for dust when I was running behind another car – but I'd rather that than what we have now. Couldn't they have turned it down to 70% rather than almost zero?

Yup, same for most games these days.

I'll never understand how they fail to add, and don't have the common sense to add options/sliders for a more customisable game play experience.

It makes ZERO sense and is a very bad business model.
They'd make more money, and after all, all they care about is profits.

For puddles I did not notice any differences, but it depends on the intensity of the rain and how much it rains

It was enough to implement a setting to adjust the intensity of the effects during the gameplay, it would be perfect for everyone.

thats right, it it's no where hard for them to add such things. Other games allow it aswell. You have FOV sliders, camera position options, HUD options etc. Even on console games.

Especially FOV options can be a problem on Consoles due to power restrictions but for GT it shouldnd be the case, there are gameplay views with a alot wider FOV than the default one and it works just fine.

Everything which impacts the performance is reasonable but the rest isn't.

Combining this information alongside serious frame-drops in some stages in specific scenarios (daytona at night, tsukuba with rain, etc) and also alongiside really bad graphics/elements pop-in (I am on PS5) makes me wonder if they are panicking to fix performance issues and try one thing at a time when it makes slight improvements.

What worries me mostly is that it's in very rare occassion that they improve things, but mosty usually things downgraded are not restored. Hope I am wrong.. :/
