I have played gta 3 many times before, but I want to own it personally. Do you think it pays to get Gta 3 now or just get the new vice city? ( I know, I never should've waited so long to get it :D )

look on places like ebay and get it cheaply. ive nearly finished downloading it for the pc off KaZaA now too. it depends how much you want it but you've got to get vice city (its gonna be a long couple of months).

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is going to be released for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system on October 29, 2002.

Still doesn't say if you'll need GTA3 for it, though. Who cares, I alread have it 😈 :burnout:  :inlove: :car: :tophat: :snorkel: :captain: :fro:  :band: I bet GTA3:VP will make me :janitor: :gt:3 for a little bit :nopity:

Actually there was risingson, but for the psx.

GTA: London was a add-on disc, you needed GTA 1 to play it. you loaded up GTA London, its asks for GTA 1, and you do a little disc swapping, and eventually you end up playing GTA: London.

So i think they can do a "addon" disc for the PS2. but they wont:D

there's still no such thing as a patch for PS2 games.

I'd suggest there's probably memory issues - GTA for the PSX was not what you'd call the most technically demanding game, but as we've seen with various machine lock-ups I'd suggest GTA3 would be sailing fairly close to the current limitations of the machine.

There was a GTA2 that was a separate game for the PSX, too.

Why would that necessitate disc swapping?

That's what I was asking before. Disk swapping would mean requiring one to also own GTA3, but if you didn't need to swap disks, you wouldn't NEED GTA3, worst came to worst, you'd have to borrow the disk from a friend for a day/hour/minute/second.

I think it was more of a money scheme than anything. They had the engine; it could've been included on the GTA:London disc.

It's the only console "patch" I've ever heard of BTW. :)

Yeah - that was an odd one, wasn't it? I've heard of PC add-ons (Sims, anyone?), but for the PSX - odd.

i never bought gta:l for psx but did download it off freeloader.com its quite good but not a touch on the other gta games. i don't believe that gta3 stretches the limits of the ps2 (look at the trees). they aren't even sure that gt3 reached the full potential. remember how long it took to get the full limit off the psx (gt2).
oh yeah - gta:vc is a separate game.

vice city has been delayed again for us aussies until nov. 12 so i'll get it for my b'day :) Plus us aussies are getting the censored version

Ohh, ouchies... Doesn't Australia have something preventing region coding? If it does, you should really get either the US or the UK version of GTA3:VC.

From what I've seen of the videos, it's going to kick ass!

yea cant wait 4 GTA VC to come out, i had gta3 for pc but the sound skipped, so im eager to et VC since i got ps2 now
