Which do you think this game will be better on? I have VC for PC and I love the controls on PC way better than GT3 on PS2 (I'm assuming it's the same controls as VC for PS2). But after hearing this, many will say go with what fits you better. But the problem is my computer. Do you think that San Andreas will change that much in system requirements from Vice City. Right now, Vice City on my computer is a little choppy but all around good. I'll list my system specs and respond if you think that it'll be ok for the next game.
I have a Dell Dimension 2350 Series
-Pentium 4 at 2GHz
-256 DDRRAM at 266MHz
-Integrated Intel 3D AGP Graphics Card
I know it's not the best thing ever but tight budgets don't help either. So please feel free to add to this. Also considering buying upgrade parts isn't feasible.
*EDIT* And I would prefer to get it on PC.

I'm not sure...your ram looks a little low-- I don't know how good that card is....beats me.

I doubt it will run better then your VC does with your current system though.

I can't imagine playing it without a PS2 controller.

Buy a Radeon 8500 off eBay - £40 at most. Shove another 256Mb of DDR in there too - that'll be about £30.

The PC controls for GTAVC BITE compared to the PS2 controls. For some reason PCGTAVC doesn't recognise look left, look right or look behind while inside a car, even though these options are configured correctly and the buttons respond. I can't alter the analogue control of the camera/turret, resulting in left/right being up/down and vice (bwaha!) versa. Although the manual aiming is nice, there appears to be no auto aim (or the game doesn't recognise the shoulder buttons outside of the control set-up menu).

Bag'o so far. And I'm NOT buying a PC controller specifically for it.

I meant just using the keyboard and mouse. I think that you guys think that I have a controller. I am saying that I don't like the way the controls are on the PS2 but I like the way they are on the PC. It's so weird on PS2 when you can't easily aim guns but on PC all you have to do move the mouse. I'll check into that stuff but I'm pressed for money unless I get a job and I still have to buy a car and pay for insurance, gas, etc. As for waiting for the PC version, I think GT4 should be out by then and thought will keep me busy along with Driv3r.

No - most people on PC games use the keyboard/mouse combination.

I just can't do it - it took me 9 years to convert from the fantastic Zipstick joystick to PSX/PS2 pads. I'm not converting again... :D

It's easy for me to do the switch if I've never played similar games to it on different machines/consoles. I'm sure if I would have had a PS2 and bought Vice City that I would have got use to that way. But now playing GT3 seems so much harder on PS2.

I don't think that video card will go well with the owner's computer, but would a 512 stick of RAM do any good?

I believe GTA3 should have similar system requirements to Vice,

GTA3 runs perfectly on my system

I have 1.8GHz AMD Athlon XP
Win 98 OS
128 ram (low but it still works)
NVIDIA Quardo4 580 XGL (nice card)

That's all I've got and stuff runs fine. I'd personally like to get it on PC eventually but I want it on PS2 for its playability. I find it harder to do things as quickly on PC than on PS2 i.e. buttons aren't as convenient.

I find it the opposite. I think I'll buy it on PC which'll be out around christmas time which would make a stick of RAM pretty free.:)

It's just what you'r used to I guess. I grew up with gaming on hand held controllers and keyboards and mice were only ever used by me for AOE type games....And of course the more conventional uses of those devices.

99.9% of all games are better on a PC, just for the fact that there is no "real" Mhz limit as much as there is on a gaming system. I played GTA:vice city on the ps2, and then on th PC. MAJOR differece! I guess if you could wait that long... yeah right:rolleyes:

But it depends on your PC. If your PC just about matches the minimum specs then it might run with a low fps, low res, lots of effects turned off etc. But if you've got a high end PC with a snazzy graphics card then it'll almost certainly be much better than on console.

Yeah, your absolutly right. I tried to play the original Rainbow Six on my PC when it came out, and little did I realize that My minimum specs for the PC, were WAY below the min. and i couldnt even start it up!:banghead:

I've got both GTAIII and GTAVC set up on the PC, and I run the new Logitech Dual Action gamepad (same layout as a PS2 controller). Works a treat, same controller layout as the PS2 advantage with the benefit of sniping using the mouse.

Grr, my rental VC wouldn't work, it froze every 5 seconds for some reason.

Hey vat, how much did that gamepad cost?
