Yeah, I noticed that website, too, and it was one of the reasons which made me think that it would be an actual game to be released before GT5. I mean - why would they make a website about something that'll never be released?

GT HD Website? I guess so!

I'm starting to wonder what Polyphony's goal w/this is. Perhaps this will be a packaged demo on the HDD? A downloadable demo? I'm really curious, since it seems to have been big enough for them to create a website for it...
Demo, my ass. It'll be like GT4: Online Edition; they'll milk the GT cow even more. It'll probably be a launch PS3 game, and it'll tide us GT fans for a few years until GT5 comes out.

First of all that is not a GT:HD site, it's simply a single part of Gran-turismo.com which covers everything about Gran Turismo, so it's no wonder theres a section on GT:HD since it was their E3 demo. But the bottom line is it has been stated from the horses mouth, that GT HD is nothing more than a demo.

Happens from time to time, web sites about stuff that never get or are planned to be released that is. Usually it's to generate hype and to get conversation going and possibly to gauge reaction or simply to get a reaction. The bottom line is it has been stated from the horses mouth, that GT HD is nothing more than a demo.

Generally I take everything very literally and I hate industry assumption, but what if he was in fact being literal. What if it is a demo? lol.

I've never known Polyphony to create any websites for something they don't plan on releasing. And we did get GT: Concept and GT4: Prologe, so perhaps this has some potential in it.

I'm going to wait and see.

They had a site for GT2000 and that was never released. They had a section on their site during GT4's development for the GT lupo cup edition which was never avaialble to the public and so on.

GT2000 was GT3. GT2000 evolved into GT3, more or less because it wouldn't have made sense to release a game called GT2000 if it released in July of 2001...

As for the Lupo Cup Edition, I wasn't aware there was a site.

GT2000 and GT3 we're very different, they were run on the same core engine, but then so was GT2, the graphics and physics we're re-done.

And I'm sure you know this because we all got to play the video we watched at E3 :dunce: .

No, Gt2000 and GT3 were not "very different". They were the same game, GT2000 later evolved through development to become GT3. They were not different games, different projects, or even very different. It was Polyphony showing their work in progress at E3, dubbed GT2000, it took them more time to finish it, they polished it up, and finally released it as GT3.

Actually your right, I did read an article saying that GT2000 was almost completley scrapped but I've jsut now read an article where Sony America talks about the name change and not being sure if it will change for Europe at that point, my bad.

If Polyphony doesn't have anything seriously GT5 to flaunt at the Tokyo Game Show, I'll be expecting GT HD to become a game at or near release of the PS3. If Kaz-sama has a bunch of Gran Turismo 5 up and running, it may almost be done at that point.
