First, thank you guys for letting me join. I really do appreciate it.

Second, I am so very sorry. I was the white Civic, #3. Yes. I do suck. That bad.

In addition to sucking, it was clear that my car simply was slower than everyone else's. I haven't had a chance to tune the suspension at all, and I've only done very minimal tuning to the gearbox. But, my car didn't suck nearly as bad as I did.

My recap:

My first time on the track was yesterday, and I still have no idea how to get through the arena. I can see how to get through all the other turns. I'm just not good at getting through them (yet). My fastest lap time was in the 1:44s. That was with 276 bhp.

Tonight, I had 292 bhp. My fastest lap time did get down to the 1:42s. That was six seconds slower than the pole.

I blew the rolling start. Thankfully, I was dead last. I was so afraid that I was going to bump the guy infront of me, that I accelerated slow and just messed it up.

I sucked the whole race. I even followed LiberCav (sp?) into the wall. Twice.

On the second race, I started third (two provisionals infront of me). I figured I would go very wide in the first turn and let everyone pass me. There was no need. Everyone, and I mean everyone, blew by me on the start. Fast as my car could do in a straight line and it was like I was standing still. I even got a noticeable bump from some in the back of the pack.

Second race went on like the first. Me sucking really badly.

I hope to get better, not only in driving, but in setting up the car. I don't mind losing, as long as you guys don't mind having me around.

The one thing that kind of bugged me was "a_garris is asinine". I'm just guessing I heard that wrong, but that's what I heard. Followed by, "that little Civic coming out of nowhere."

Again, I imagine that I misheard that. I was well behind the pack by that point. And seriously, why would anyone even say anything like that?

I'll be watching the replays this weekend just to learn what I can. Hope to see you next week.

Were you using Racing mediums or comforts???

Secondly i think the race went pretty well. Battled with POPE, CAMikaze and jav for the majority of the races. I will be handing out points penatlies later as i review the replays. Saw a lot of pushing and shoving. Also this:

Race Rules:

If you are behind someone else the person in front of you has the right of way. You are not to bump into the back of him or force him off the track but you are to make the smart decision and back off or pass when you see it being reasonable. The leading car should be aware of the person behind him.

I will start to be more strict with the rules if this pushing and shoving continue.

Lastly great racing out there over all. Got a very tight points battle up top. Looking forward to Trail Mountain. No real restrictions here at all.

Trail mountain will be same time. But after next week we switch to Saturdays for the rest of the season.

Kinda weird how the Constructor's championship has stayed the same.

Im not going to change the rolling start but i will begin to penalize for not staying in your grid position. Probably a hefty 10 point penatly.

I'm all for that! I'm pretty sure we were 3 wide up front on the rolling start with a pesty little civic putting his nose where it didn't belong, lol.

Can't believe I'm about to write this but I won't make it for next Friday... I hate to miss that race specialy the way the championship is going but I have to miss this next one...

Need to ditch the current starting system. I swear I qualified 3rd but started 7th?

You can't go by the list on the side of your screen, it only rates the cars currently on track and not those sitting in the pits. I was second behind rxp for most of qualifying and then i was first without running faster than him. And then i started 2nd.

Not sure who made the comments but try not to let it bother you, we all started out slow at some point. Props to you for being so positive about coming in last, its refreshing to see someone so dedicated to improving their skills.

My advice is to just practice as much as you can on the track for that weeks race. Setup the grip setting to "real" so you don't get surprised on race day. Also use the driving line until you know the track, as you progress you'll learn to find your own line but that comes with time. Just be sure to do some practice without the line before race day. Work on consistancy before you get too into the tuning, otherwise you don't know if the tune helped.

And have fun! haha, had to add that.

Well after reviewing the replays I am giving out points Penalties. P_O_P_E gets a -5 point penalty for reckless driving. Jav gets a -5 point penalty for reckless driving in race 2. Sach gets a -5 for false starting on the rolling start. Sorry guys but rules are the rules.

I don't think I false start I let rxp and p_o_p_e pass befor the bridge??? Use my in car view in the replay to see.

I had a way better experience this race. Had some really good battles, chasing rxp with qualifying and then the first 5 laps. Then i sliped off track and fell back to third, suprfluous then caught up to me and chased me only to pass me and then i passed him again all on the last lap! So much fun!

The second race wasn't so pleasant, starting near the back i had a lot of ground to make up. I knew i was faster, but i just couldn't manage a clean pass through the madness of bumping and unorthadox racing lines. I decided to pit early to get some clear track and managed my fastest lap of 1.36.10 and climbed up to a respectable 6th. Still learned a lot, and hope i didn't cut off or bump anyone to agressively.

We did have a good form on the rolling start till the final corner when some people sped up in the front. Pace car did a good job but sped up a little to far at one point.

Any particular offense? Race one or two? Should've saved the replays.

You did shove several people when trying to pass and some parts where you should've stayed behind but you decided to make a last second pass.

Jav was pretty much the same except he in race 2 coming into the chicane he could've taken out many racers, and he did shove TL straight into the barrier in the Veedol chicane.. But he did do some of the same offenses as you.

EDIT:
Banner picture changed to madness that almost occurred in race 1. You can see a_garris's honda far off in the distance  The camber on my gold VW is so noticeable against the other cars to lol.

Fair enough, i'll work on it. i wish to be as clean a racer as i can, maybe i should be reviewing my replays.

See you guys at Trial Mountain. Better practice up and the Yellow dashes before and after the tunnel on the back straight are fair game.

Race #2. Sorry some of them aren't in order they decided to get all mixed up when I imported them to my usb

Forza wins in incidental damage. GT 5 cars just look like they've been left in the sun too long.

Don't worry man... I'm horrible too. I finished dead last in Round 1 on both races. When you consider Race #2 is reverse grid that means EVERYONE passed me! The key is to work on your car using the on-line mode (your lounge) because the physics of the game are totally different from A-Spec practice. Send me an email and maybe we could practice together because I'm still pretty slow. I was running 1:40 in practice, while everyone else was doing 1:38s. After some tuning and track time I managed a 1:37.4XX which looked good, but turned out to still be about a second too slow to run with the leaders.

You can't go by the list on the side of your screen, it only rates the cars currently on track and not those sitting in the pits. I was second behind rxp for most of qualifying and then i was first without running faster than him. And then i started 2nd.

How do you tell where you qualified then? I thought it would automatically grid us for the parade lap based on the time we ran during free-run. Now, its possible I set my time before someone accidentally starting the race which wiped out our times, but then Silver-Sylph purposely changed the track in order to reset the times and at that point I was completely confused as to where I should grid.

I don't think I false start I let rxp and p_o_p_e pass befor the bridge??? Use my in car view in the replay to see.

Just another reason why I think the pace lap / rolling start should be ditched. I'm all for realism but in an effort to not hit anyone I lost about 3 places at the start by driving conservatively.

Here are some quick shots I snapped while watching the race #1 replay.

Thanks for hosting the pics. Man EVERYONE'S car was wrecked in Race #1 from the pace lap mess! The biggest issue was one of the corner distance markers (for braking zones) was taken out, so on the next lap about half the field overshot the turn. LOL

Kinda weird how the Constructor's championship has stayed the same.

Proves you got a good system going here. The cars are matched fairly well and any advantages at one track disappear at the next one.

Looking forward to Trail Mountain, I'm old skool so I love the original GT circuits, plus no chicanes and very little run off room especially in the twisty mid section.

I don't think there will be a huge pile up into the first corners. But probably some people will cut turn 2 and go airborne.

I will definitely let you know.

Out of curiosity, what are the lap times for Trail Mountain going to be like? I know this course much better, so hopefully I'll drive cleaner. Now to figure out how to make the car go faster.

I think I was on Racing Mediums for the last race, but I'll triple check for this.

There will be 10 laps that runs around 16 minutes.

On arcade with my orange VW I was averaging 1.32's to 1.33's.

For qualifying it is placing you where you are on track ahead of people and not by times. You will only know where you start when we get to the race.

Just popped online for a little bit in my Civic. Reset the transmission to default and was able to get in the 1:40s. I bumped the transmission a little, and driving a very clean lap, I was able to get to the 1:38s.

Like I said, that lap was clean. I'm much more familiar with Trial Mountain. I could probably be more aggressive, but not six seconds. Now to see if I can tune the car this week to shave off even more time.

I think most of the people here are using wheels like me. People who use a controller (which i think that is what your using) are at a disadvantage really. Because you can't turn the car as sharp with a controller like you can with a wheel.

vol, I'm using a controller and have been able to keep up with the others. I can't give you settings since you have a different car, but play around with the suspension tuning. That's where you'll find a lot of times.
