GTO oR the VR-4

the REAL GTOcame out LONG before mitsubishi bit-off the name.
The Pontiac GTO is a ****en classic, the gto, or the 3000gt is another over rated heavy POS, even if it has v6 twin turbo...

The new pontiac GTO isnt all that amazing. It's a partially redesigned holden monaro. It's ugly IMO and despite having an LS1, it does nothing for the GTO name. The Mitsubishi GTO/3000GT is a decent grand tourer if you have the VR4. It's a boat....with the potential for a lot of HP, and with AWD. Good car in its top form.

C'mon man, the least you can do is know some of the cars backround/performance potential before you bash it.

And the 3000GT VR-4 is underrated.

Answering the question I would prefer the VR-4 ON look`s, handling, engine performance and pure opinion, I`m only speaking from my experiance on each.

The least that Pontiac could have done is bettered the performance of the Firebird it's meant to replace.

...it sucks reguardless
any 3000gt sucks the only one thats not as sucky is the vr4.
if i wanted performance potential id go with a supra.

vr4 is heavy as hell even if it is v6 tt
i would go with a I6 TT supra hands down.
86?hp with a stock block

Who the hell cares that it can make 800 hp on a stock block? Honestly, do you think YOU would ever do that? Is it so much better of a car because of it? Honestly.

well 1 thing 800hp is on a STOCK ENGINE BLOCK is an ACHIEVEMENT.
you dont see that many cars pushing that much hp, let alone on stock blocks. so in other words people do care because you dont see that everyday.
i guess in my opinion the supra is better because of that & the fact that its lighter, and easier to mod, id like to see a vr4 push 800+hp on a stock block.

and dont be quick to say a vr4 can kill a supra tt, just by watching 1 video.
there are tons of supras running 8s

who me?
emad your obviously talking to the wrong person i know more about cars than 70% of the people here.
my bro is a honda master mech <built his own mopar (duster)
my other bro builds 510s <swapped tranny + 5 lug + sr20det swap
i am learning to swap motors
how else wouldnt i learn about cars
** shouldnt have said that- my bad emad ** :P
and yea the original Pontiac GTO is badass

Only commenting on the "800bhp on a stock block is an achievement" thing.

anyways, my opinion on the 3000gt is that it's an excellent car, but it needs MAJOR work to be able to take corners well...qtr mile is another story - that comes down to driver and the tuning work.

I can count the number of 8 second Supra's on one hand. It's a baseless statement.

The 1990-1995 (1996 has OBD2) Z32 300ZX Twin Turbo can also make 800+hp on *stock internals/block. :)

what about 8 sec vr4? :)
there are way more supras that can run 8s then just 10,
ask josh.
face it the vr4 sucks, & the only reason its underrated is because its a rare car and doesnt appeal to that many people with its ugly ass looks.
the only mitsubishi id take is the lancer evolution

No, 1mic. I've seen it in real life.

IMO, the 3000GT is one of the most beautifully designed cars that has ever come from Japan. It's part of the few that actually look like sports cars.

It's underrated because people like you who have absolutely no knowledge about it, are quick to write it off.
