Because the stupidity in the nominations thread was already getting too much. Feel free to rant or complain or to make suggestions that I'll probably completely ignore as much as you like here. Just, don't do it in the nominations thread, and keep discussion of individual nominations to their own threads if possible.

Anyway, for clarification:

• Anything can be nominated within the bounds of the AUP and good taste. (With the exceptions of a few specific things listed in the OP, like cars, vans, and musical artists/pieces.) This is not going to change.
• The formula for calculating scores is not going to change, it'll always be the mean of sub zero, cool, meh, uncool, and seriously uncool. Don't like it? Don't vote.
• Yes. Some people nominate military vehicles. Think there are too many? Ignore the threads. Nominate something that isn't military related. Participation is not obligatory.
• That's all I have to say for now.

I'm surprised the Spitfire wasn't one of the first nominations, especially considering the amount of planes already.

No surprise a lot of planes and other military vehicles have been nominated.
