The GTI gets a Meh, the rest are uncool.

Ultimately Meh, it just doesn't spark any interest to me.

Kind of blends in with the scenery a bit. GTi would be a nice sleeper here since nobody knows what a Peugeot is anymore. Meh it is.

The facelift with the different rear fascia is supremely gorgeous.
You make it sound like it's the pinnacle of automotive design. If this is supremely gorgeous, what room does that leave for something like a Miura or an XKE series-1?

Don't get me wrong, I like the 505 too, but I wouldn't put it up there with the all-time greats.

It'll probably be cool in few years time, but currently it's in the grey area that is between old enough to be called classic and old enough to be a choice for people who want a really cheap car.

I can imagine that at this point in time these are mostly driven by people who bought one over 20 years ago. Uncool.

If only it were offered as coupe.. Cool is the best I can do due the GTi turbo.

More than one car is permitted in the top tier of designs, surely? And comparing a saloon to a supercar is apples and oranges. Besides, not everybody thinks the same way. I don't hold the E-type with as much regard as many others seem to.

I honestly think that the Peugeot 505 is one of the best looking cars of its class.

SZ for me, used to own one, a blue manual 505 GTi with low km for about a year, when I was still in high school, back in the 90's. My 1st car as well ( old man gave it to me for daily ), someone scrape the front bumper, and I had to fix it by myself :( It had cold air intake, Remus exhaust, Eibach springs, better brake pads ( Ferodo ), better tires ( Bridegstone RE ) The ride was nice, stiff, but compliant, brakes were awesome for a Peugeot, very bitey and sensitive to touch, the gas pedal was a bit sluggish in response, but the sound of the rev climbing and the intake gets me by :D It was quite a ride to push around corners.

Peugeot did a good job of improving the overall shape of the saloon following on from the 504, though I feel they killed some of the character in the process.

This never struck me as anything other than an ordinary family car of its time. Comparing it to the two saloons that the 505 evolved into by the early '90s, it isn't exceptionally handsome either.

Uncool. And I absolutely love them.
