Butterfly doors are certainly interesting. Reminds me of a Mazda 323F coupe, and that's a good thing, but it's too much of a hairdresser's car.

Uncool

One of the very few Toyota products I wouldn't actually mind owning. But it's still just a Starlet Coupe, with doors that may have been fitted by yourself, for most people.

Uncool.

You had better live somewhere that permits tinted windows because you'll broil inside that vehicle during daylight hours. Ah, the chief disadvantage of a convertible without the ability to open said roof.

There's still a part of me that wants to drive a sleek, glassy, 1980s-penned concept car, but I think gullwing doors are usually more trouble than they're worth.

Visible proof nobody knew where to put cupholders until the Clinton Administration. Otherwise, it's probably just a Paseo that might have sold better in the States but for possible passenger ejection issues.

I like it, scrapes a Cool from me for uniqueness and nice enough styling, even if a pokier model would make it more interesting. But yeah, would need that glass tinted and pray the AC works.

I will never vote this anything other than sub-zero, I will never know why that is though.

I agree with this though I still find it cool from me.

As I can see there are a lot of negative critics of this car, even calling it a hairdresser car, but why?

This car is amazing. It's the car that inspired the doors of the McLaren F1. It has 4 individual seats and an impresive sound system called SLSS (Super Live Sound System) with a rear speaker that ROTATED depending of the mode you choose. The design of this thing came directly from the AXV-II concept, so that's why It has its weird design, doors and all that glass. I know that the engine isn't the most powerful thing in the world, but 108 HP is good for moving only 907 kg. People say that this thing had very good handling and also was fast for its low power. If you want to make It more sporty, you can swap the engine with the one from the Starlet GT Turbo or one of the many variations of the 4A-GE engine, like a blue top 16V or a silver top 20V, and if you also put an sports suspension setup you can have a little trackday weapon.

With this car you can have unique design plus the Toyota reliability, and all for a very good price.

Cool.
