Rated a decent "Cool" for this nicely styled modern classic. Conservatively styled while still being cool looking, and drives well too. I wonder how big the difference is in this car's coolness versus, say, the newest M3. Do I sniff a competition?

Remember when BMW designs were simpler than today? I don't like this model BMW as much as I do the E43-style BMWs, but I'm surely digging this BMW. Still lovely style even today. I even sort of dig the wheels. So my call for this one is simple- Sub-Zero.

Fast, understated and desirable. Exactly the kind of car that appealed to upper management types who want to flaunt their wealth but still keep a level of discreetness. If I were ever going to buy any older BMW, this would definitely be the one (but I won't, because I know how much maintaining one costs and yeah, nah).

Today's car is so much faster. But is buying a 2021 M3 a cool car anymore? That's a debate for another thread. And regardless of speed, this car is cool. It keeps itself out of sub zero solely based on who usual buys this car. And I feel we all know the type.

Probably the most underrated generation of the M3. Solidly cool car, quite quick for its time yet still understated looking.
