Conversely, I though the front bumper was much more sporting than the conservative GT3 effort. It just didn't flow too well with the low relief rear one.

Only isn't sub-zero to me because it's not the actual 996.

I hated the 996 when it first appeared. They have grown on me over the years. I give it a cool. Being a RUF vs a pure Porsche has no bearing on my judgement.

What I mean is that the car would be mich cooler if it actually was the real thing (911).
But it is the real thing (Ruf RGT).

It's not pretending to be a 911, it's not badged as a 911, it's not a 911 copy or clone, it's not a 911 replica. It's a real example of a real car, called the Ruf RGT. I'm not sure why you're using how cool the 'real' 996 911 would be as a metric for this car that isn't one and doesn't pretend to be one.

It's not a copy, clone, replica or modification in any sense of the word.
Unless your RUF happens to be one that started off as a 911 and you took it to them after the fact.

If it's not a 911 copy, clone, replica, or modification, then why does it look like a 911?
Because most RUFs are built from the ground up to be RUFs with RUF VINs. It's a legal difference more than an actual mechanical one.

That'll be because - as extremely often pointed out on this site - it starts life as an unstamped chassis shipped from Porsche to Ruf.

That'd be a Porsche.

A Ruf is a Ruf from the factory. A Porsche with Ruf bits on it is a Porsche - though I imagine that if Ruf makes it Ruf spec and consents, it could be reregistered as one with a new VIN.

Cool. I'm not wowed for the same reason I'm not wowed by 996s. As @Tornado stated, they took something bland and made it worse. However, it's still very capable and, because of that, it's not quite Meh-able for me.

Whilst I can't speak for The87Dodge (although I suspect the following wasn't what he was thinking), I reckon most people would just see a 911 with a bodykit, and would say that's Seriously Uncool. If you tried explaining to them the difference between a RUF and a Porsche, well... I doubt that would improve matters.

Then do as I've done in the past when this matter comes up in the GT sub forums because they think it's not an actual manufacture or some mod company... send them to the wiki page. It explains it pretty clearly there how the car is manufactured by RUF.

Yep - as @TheCracker said:
"Nice Porsche"
"Actually, its not a Porsche. Its a Ruf"

Uncool.

Never thought the RGT body kit was attractive - to me, the stock GT3.1/GT3.2's look better.

Not really relevant though as these sorts of cars aren't cool.
