I don't know, sounds like a fair but of strong dislike at least, if not quite hate.
Unless your country has race tracks or unlimited speed roads.A Corvette is absolutely pointless everywhere.
I don't put much stock in this. Granted it's easy to make a stupidly powerful car with underwhelming grip and control, but don't go by your average road going supercar to judge where the limits of grip are. If you're serious about taking a car like this to the limit, then better rubber is usually an easy option. After that there are aftermarket parts, some of which may get around the hurdles of road regulations.too much power for 2WD.
Who cares? Murica!it already has some of the stickiest roadlegal rubber out there and it still kicks tail out.. ON THIRD GEAR. And this was supposed to be the trackday version.
That's like saying that if a car has a problem, manufacturer doesn't need to even try to fix it, because aftermarket will sort it out anyway. I'm not saying that the Corvette needs to have better way to put the power to the road, as even though, it sort of tries to be a hardcore track car it really isn't one. But, as the Cool Walls are mostly about stock cars, giving a list of aftermarket options as a defence for having bad grip, won't make the problem go away.If you're serious about taking a car like this to the limit, then better rubber is usually an easy option. This isn't supposed to be a track-only car though.A track car doesn't need to be road legal though.
It's whatever the owner wants it to be.This isn't supposed to be a track-only car though.
Sub-Zero. The whole purpose of the Corvette is to provide hypercar performance for sports car price. This latest one doesn't disappoint. Even the base $50,000 Stingray is faster around TTGT than a $300,000 Ferrari 599 and the $500,000 McLaren Mercedes SLR. Shame Top Gear is no longer with us; I would have loved to see what the new Z06 with the Z07 package would have done in the hands of the Stig...
Which is unlikely to be a track-only car. It's whatever the owner wants it to be.
It doesn't have too much power for 2WD, it has too much power for FR. The Corvette is the pioneer of making old school tech work, and it's actually doing a damn good job.
You see, in a country that's utterly dominated by Audis, BMWs, AMG-Mercedes' and Porsche, I'd consider someone cool for going against the grain and picking a less represented car that offers great performance at a decent price point. From what I've seen and heard, the Z06's interior is considerably better than previous generations, too, so it's not like you're shooting yourself in the foot for being an automotive hipster. You're probably getting more performance out of it than out of a European car for a comparable price.
Not defaulting to one of the locally made 'go-fast-cars', that's cool - the Z06 might be loud and flashy but to me, it'd look like an informed choice made by someone who doesn't just go with an M4 because "that's what everyone does, must be the best choice."
The styling on the Corvette C7 was already fine, but the plastic-looking black bits used for the front splitter and the rear spoiler are just hideous. Seriously Uncool.
Most people call that Carbon Fiber, but yeah black plastic could be a slang I guess. "Joe I love the black plastic on your super car"
Joe: "it's called carbon fiber"
Pete: "Is that French?"
