GTPDTM Season 3 Sign Up Thread

dtmbannerintroec0.jpg

This is how it works, you post your name, the car & car class you want to run, a race number you would like to run and the name of your team
that you are running under (be creative and make one up). And post it in a format similar to this:

Driver: (Your GTP user name here)
Number: (the number you picked here, no 2 drivers can run the same number)
Car Class: (The class of the car you picked, look at the rulebook in post #2)
Car: (The name of the car you picked)
Team: (The name of your team)

3rd - Driver 3
4th - Driver 4
5th - Driver 5
6th - Driver 6

Here we see the finishing order, based on the teams they drove for in those same positions.

[CODE]Mercedes-Benz - 20
Opel - 10

Can't wait. :)

TS, have a double-check in Rule 3.3. It looks like you got a bit of a tag glitch that needs to be clarified.

Now a couple of questions come to my mind.
  1. Since there are 2 classes in the GTPDTM series for this year, are we allowed to use the same number on our cars for the different classes, or do we have to use 2 different numbers?
  2. Should the #1 be reserved for the champions in each of the classes for the next season? And should last years GTPDTM M-Klasse champion use the #1 for this season?
And since I have nothing else to do tonight, I'll do some practice runs in the cars I have available so that I can decide on what I plan to race with for Season 3.;)

The above post contains the schedule & all the entries to the series thus far. Also unmentioned, the deadline for entries is Tuesday, March 11, 2008.

1. If you race cars in both classes this season, you can run the same number for both cars.
2. Yes, and if the champion (Ren-Tek) specifically requests it.

My entry will come in a few days once I finish deciding what I want to drive. :)

Awesome and thorough lay-out guys. I just got the chance to catch the last two rounds of DTM on SPEED(probably soon to be renamed The NASCAR Channel.) It's been years since they've aired it or I have just missed it as they always have something NASCAR related on. That second to second to last round was a pretty crazy with the entire Audi contigent pulling out of the race! I might just have to pick and Audi because of those bully Mercedes. I'll be running some set-ups for a couple days/weeks and post up. I only wish the first race came sooner!

Audi pulled out?:scared: And what was the crowds reaction to that drastic move? Methinks this has shades of Indy 2005...:nervous:

And I ask this question out of having not seen the race yet even though I did record it onto DVD when it aired a few weeks ago. Also, start checking the SPEED schedule when the NASCAR season starts winding down, they usually have the DTM series on over the winter months. Plus they've been airing the DTM races for the last 4-5 years or so.

Yeah there was a pretty ballsy move diving into the first corner. The Mercedes driver locked it up to the inside of the Audi driver and just ran them both off the track. There were a couple of other nudges that were all usual but there was one more significant retaliation by a Mercedes driver that is hardly describable. That and just some rather blockheadish driving from some of the Mercedes drivers. I think I am a little biased as well from the video shown but hey, that's what I have to go off of. It was more out of frustration than a driver safety issue. Well then again if it had gone longer maybe it could have turned into that.

As for car selection I was going to pick the A4 but I'll throw down with the Opel just to get one in the field. Looks like esh has that covered so I'll pick it anyway. That was my second fastest in testing and I only ran one track for a basis so I'll just have to see how the descision turns out.

Ok as im bored i decided to take the Merc CLK out for a spin on two neutrol tracks with RM's on (middle of the road).

Infineon Raceway: 0'18.085/ 0'54.645

Midfeild Raceway: 0'20.374/ 0'40.351

Kinda a shake down and pre season test.

Other than esh and myself, no one else has taken the plunge and made a entry into the K-klasse as well. How come?:guilty: I was hoping to see more people enter this class as well.

Don't worry, CAMikaze, I'm taking the plunge, and I'm going to use the Alfa to add a bit of manufacturer competition. That and the fact I love that it revs to 16,000 rpm. :sly:
Sticking with the same Opel that I ran sporadically last year, love the feel of the car and how it handles. Hope to be running good times this year. Also, loving the longer race setups and choice of track. Well done TS and RACECAR, this series looks as if it will be tremendous this season. 👍

I was wondering if any of you that have already signed up for S3 have been doing some testing of your cars for the upcoming season. I plan to do so tonight and maybe tomorrow with both of my entries. ;)

I have a friend a couple blocks away that actually got me hooked on gt4 and we play online, racing the AMG mercedes fairly regularly. Normally we pick the same car on same tire, 4 laps and strong tire wear but we've just decided we're going to start doing 8+ laps races now with pit strategy and equally classed cars, mainly due to me talking about this thread. He's reg'd here but doesnt have the time to participate. I think it's the lack of true online head to head in gt4.

Planning to race the AMG Merc 190 E 2.5 Evo II Touring Car in the K class but havent done any testing yet {have to re-win it .. sold it in GT mode for some reason}

Cant wait to go on-line racing live with GT5 👍

Can someone remind which race I win the Opel in? I have completely forgotten.

Hey guys I'd like to give this a shot, not sure which class yet but I'll do some testing here in the next few days. Using the DS Controller for now but I should have my DFP in mid March.

You win the Opel Calibra in the Opel speedster mfg'er cup. The Astra I think is one of the already unlocked cars, no? Unless it's from a liscense test. I can't remember.
