After some more laps with the Ford GT40, I've managed to get below the 8:05 mark:

Its tough to keep it on the track for the entire lap:eek:
I think I should be able to find another second with a good lap, but thinking and doing are completely different outcomes;):D
I keep tweaking the tune for my Ford GT40, trying to make it more stable but without eliminating its energetic cornering abilities, and this has helped, but the Ford GT40 just isn't the best car for the 'Ring because it becomes easily un-settled whenever you touch the rumble-strips or get overly aggressive with your steering or braking inputs.

Well, today was my day, YEAYY! 👍👍 Conservatively managed a legit 7:37 in the TSO, legit 8:17 in the MarkV and a RED 8:03 in the GT40. Not done yet,, going to make a dash at Tsukuba in the Honda tomorrow just to see how we can do then back to the killer NBRing. Daymn,, since the first GT I really like "tha Ring"!👍👍:)

All Geezers invited!! We will use One Make cars to get started and go with track votes.
1st race at 12:30pm ET.

I'll get a car selected this evening. I hope to get my accelerator pedal working tonight. It's skipping under throttle as though the engine is missing. The potentiometer is failing AGAIN. I'm on my last good one. Changed the clutch pot several months ago.

Saturday racing. Ferrari Dino 246GT '71. Oil change, and some power and weight changes. Use the stage 3 engine, and all weight reduction with sport soft tires. Transmission - customizable at 168mph. Racing brakes allowed. All other tuning must be default

Daymn!! I'm so sorry Geez and fellow geezers for missing today's Thursday Geezers Rocking Chair race :guilty: As usual I was awake most of the nite watching FOX, car races, America's Got Talent on YouTube, at around 6am my time eyes were burning, felt like I needed a "little" nap before the Geezer racing so lay this 'ol body down in my recliner believing I'd sleep for only an hour or so and be awake, refreshed in plenty of time. Well, the end of that story - I awoke at 11, thoroughly PISSED :mad: I had slept too long and missed it!! Yes, had I thought I might oversleep I could have asked my Wife to wake me but I really didn't think I would sleep so long. Anyway, I so apologize to all who did make it 'cause i really wanted to attend,, we need as many Geezers we can join in to help get the Thursday races going. Along with our regular Saturday races having 2 Geezer events each week is fun and something to look forward to. I'll make daymn sure I'm awake for Saturdays racing!!
 
I'm sorry too.:( Been having trouble with my internet connection all day. Spectrum who bought Time Warner was supposed to make things better but they haven't as of yet. It was out when I got up so I called them and they aid that they were trying to fix the problem but it may be 5 PM before it was fixed. I am able to log on but my usual super fast connection is running very slow. Seems like DSL. Hopefully by Saturday things will return to normal.

Is pepper serious about using the FXX for the Saturday race? Someone let me please let me know. I have one, it's already had an oil change and I have driven it once. If I can't use every aid I can I'll be a spectator or 20 laps down. I really don't like that car. The only reason I have it is because I bought every expensive car that I wanted when the money glitch was working at the beginning of the game.

Yes Saturday's car is the FXX, but in its untuned form, it is an OK car.
We were 4 Geezers today and we had a ton of fun. We were looking for you Daduce and Racin510.

Can you tell me what track? I sent pepper a message too but haven't heard. I have to retrieve it from the stockyard where is has been for the last 2 years. If I knew what track then I could at least get used to driving it otherwise it will be frustrating for me. I'm not trying to be a stick in the mud.

Hi bud,

Test drive it at Midfield and Twin Ring Motegi. Many use those tracks for tuning and testing as they have most elements of every track. See you Sat! :)

As the saying goes when momma ain't happy no one is. I'm in the dog house big time. All I can say if any of you are the praying type I could use all the prayers I can get.

Sorry, but I've not done any racing this week. We don't pick any specific tracks to race on. With the FXX we'll likely go to the larger tracks. If you do what Duce recommends, you likely be ok for most of our selections.
