GTP WTAC Week 42 : Mille Miglia​

*** I've changed Week 42's cars to two Italian sports cars: a 2002 Enzo Ferrari and a 2002 Pagani Zonda C12S 7.3 - both are going to be fun to drive (or in my case, SLIDE)! If you were wondering, the name Mille Miglia refers to a famous Italian endurance event that literally translates to 1000 Miles. It isn't raced anymore due to tragic crash in 1957 that killed 11 people, including five children. It is still run though in pre-1957 collector cars and billed as a car parade (Mille Miglia Storica). We obviously aren't going to race 1000 miles or anything, but the name, being Italian, seemed fitting. ***




1. Track : Deep Forest (forward)

2. Cars : Enzo Ferrari '02 & Pagani Zonda C12S 7.3 '02

IMPORTANT ! This is a combined times challenge: you'll need to run both cars; rankings will be made based on your combined times.

3. Cars specifics:

- Transmission: either
- Tires: S3 / S3
- TCS : at your disposal
- ASM : off
- Active Steering : off
- Driving Physics : Professional

All in-game quick-tune options are at your disposal (Press Triangle when selecting your car to add the car to your favorites and tinker with any available settings).

Hybrid cars, the use of CFW tuning or any other way of cheating (such as the Action Replay for PSP) is forbidden...

4. Duration of the challenges : this challenge will start Monday March 7th 4:00 pm GMT+2 and will end Monday March 14th 3:59 pm GMT+2 (one week !)

5. Time submission :

You'll have to post your Ghost Replay Data + Photo before Monday March 14th 3:59 pm GMT+2. If you miss the deadline, your laptimes won't be in the website.

6. Rules :

You'll have to follow the Host and Compete in a GT Planet Time Attack Challenge (GTPTAC) You'll have to follow the Host and Compete in a GT Planet Time Attack Challenge (GTPTAC) ! Just to remind you :
Clean or Dirty lap :
- Colliding with or using walls, fences, cones or other obstacle is forbidden. All times submitted must be 100% wall free.
- Two wheels (except when airborne, where the vertical projection of the car onto the track counts) must be in contact with the tarmac which does not include all green/grassed/sanded/graveled areas.
- NO SPARKS! (this does not include 'bottoming' the car out on the tarmac or rumble strips; but does include walls/barriers)
Rumble/ripple strips :
- having two wheels/tires on a corner's inside rumble strips and two off track is considered unclean
- having two wheels/tires on a corner's outside rumble strips and two off track is considered clean.

My first times drifting around the course.

Zonda - 1'20.9xx
Enzo - 1'21.5xx

Both cars feel like the Lotus Elise... just on a bigger scale. Maybe some toe-in will get rid, or at least reduce, the constant four wheel drift.

really really slow when it comes to MR cars
1'30.xxx were my starting times for both cars

But this is a fun track/car combo especially turns 3 through 11.

Hoping to improve on my times.

Me too ! SP Model rocks ! I love the Nero Daytona WB colour, the Bianco Avus one and the Rosso Corsa one too 👍 !

managed to improve. 1'26.xxx for the Enzo. I really love that corner 9-10-11!!! That gripping feeling. I don;t know why but this is the best sector in Deep Forest for me. Though I always mess up my Driving Line and I know this is really important to establish a good lap time because it leads to a straight

My friend borrowed my PSP while he was here visiting me, then after about hours of playing he accidentally spilled hot coffee on it....now it doesn't open,power on. nothing
I don't know how it happened...it was so careless of him...

3 years!! I took care of it...then this happens...
I really don't know how I can play GTPSP once again...
I will really miss TAC and everyone here...

Breaking the 1'20 with the Zonda was quite easy, but for some reason the Enzo was hard to get the most potential from it (even with toe-out, which makes it feel more like a Lotus Elise. In other words, more drifting!!!)

I've been neglecting the challenge the past couple of days because I've been glued to the TV watching the events in Japan. That said, I'm satisfied with my Pagani time, but I feel a bit disappointed with my time for the Ferrari. This event was pretty fun and I wish I could have spent more time running laps!

WTAC Week 42

I'm not just about to give up being a TACer!
After nearly 2 days of dismantling, cleaning, drying,assembling ...all With sheer determination...I successfully resurrected my PSP back to life!!!
WOOOOO!!!! SO happy!! I decided to run both cars again for 5 laps each and somehow I had same times I previously had. Well for this week, all I care about is my PSP being functional again!!
So far it is behaving normally. I seriously hope there won't be any side effects after the PSP being drenched with caffeine.

Here is my entry for this week. I was too busy having a blast on holiday to do any serious laps but I did have a decent session on the plane on the way back home, untill my battery died. These were two slippery buggers, I wish I had more time to tune them a bit but anyway...

Thanks! to all. I just hope my PSP won't break down until December 2011 when Next Gen Portable comes out. and PD might give us a new Gran Turismo Portable.
