GTP WTAC Week 47 : Concept SUVs presented by MVR08

*** For this challenge we'll be using two SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) concepts. I have no idea how they handle and we'll all be learning these bigger automobiles together. For that reason alone, this will be an exciting week! ***

Track is posted!

We're in for a crazy week: This will likely be the last competition for this current racing session (then we start a new one) and these big boys will be challenging to guide through Suzuka's tight turns.

:)

Did a few laps today and a little tuning..

Stormer - 1'34.5xx
Crossport - 1'34.3xx

Enjoying this combo more than I thought I would! :)👍

I did some moderate tuning and improved my times.

Mazda: 1'33.3xx

Land Rover: 1'34.6xx

The Land Rover just feels like a truck: big & heavy. The Mazda, on the other hand, feels more like a sports car. In fact, the front end very closely resembles the RX-8!

Mazda MX: 1'32.2xx

I'm not a fan of SUVs, but I wanted to know apart of a rollover:scared: what else should I spect from this cars driving in the limits.. Have to say that I'm really pleased with how the Mazda perform. I discovered that leaving the car in 3rd gear is faster than 2nd in the last corner, and is better lift the gas-turn early in 130R rather than braking-turn-throtle with the Mazda..

See you later!👍

New times...

Mazda - 1'32.5xx

Land Rover 1'33.7xx

@ Detroit -Looks like so far it's you or me for 3rd!

B.T.W. anybody know what happened to red ice?

My entry...

Mazda MX-Crossport - 1'32.594
pic0001.png

Land Rover Stormer - 1'33.570
pic0000.png

Total time - 3'06.164

It was interesting trying to get a good tune for the Stormer, in the end I had the springs and dampers quite a bit softer on the back than on the front.

See you guys in the next session!

Vroom....
👍

Very good challenge this week.. I like this track alot and think that those times could be better. Didn't have much time with the Stormer but what I learned in the MX transfered very well to the Stormer.

See you next week and probably next session..;) 👍

I was hoping to really put in a solid effort to reduce my times (and fine tune my setups) last night, but I started to feel sick. Headache, fever, nausea, and a generally crappy feeling all over my body kept me from running laps last night or all day today. But at least I am able to submit some times for this week!

I ran a last-minute session, no improvement for the Land Rover, but an improvement on the Mazda.

Hi everyone:tup:, I'm a green racer for this game and eager to join your WTAC for fun and for learning driving skills from you. Though not know much about driving and race rules, I have much interest in this GT game and played GT2 on PS-emulator for some time.
Here I put my time and replays as a self-introduction. Would you count me in? Maybe in next Session:)

Welcome to the competition, vaughan!

Unfortunately, you missed the deadline to submit your replays/photos for this week, but we'd love to have you join us for Week 48 (which is the current event)!

:)

I will calculate all the times tomorrow - I'm still really ill and feel like I'm going to pass out at any moment (I hate being sick).

We've never encountered a situation where the top two competitors were tied when the racing session ended, so this is uncharted territory for the WTAC! Both Dan360 and MVR08 finished with 50 points... and both are very worthy of the overall title. MVR08 had more 1st place finishes, but Dan's tenacity kept him in the lead all the way up until now. So, instead of employing a tie-breaker method to determine a single champion, I will make the executive decision to award the trophy to both Dan360 and MVR08. They are both deserving and worthy of the title 'Co-Champion'!

Congratulations guys!

I would also like to congratulate pvr77 for his 3rd place finish in the overall standings. Way to go, pvr! 👍

Thanks Detroit, and it's always a pleasure racing against you. I think maybe Dan and MVR should have some kind of face-off to settle this tie for 1st. Hopefully for the next session Donfuy, bigllama93 and vaughan will join us.

Oh, and I think we should all thank Detroit for hosting for this long. We all appreciate it a lot! :)
👍👍👍
