My race went well had a good battle with Anastassis for about 6 laps, I did try bump drafting to try and catch the group in front but it didnt work.

I thought you were trying to "push" me to a mistake so you could get in front  . In fact, I was getting a little nervous seeing 1,5 car in my 3rd camera view.

Sorry about that then. I did back off well before the corners.

Looking forward to Spa.

Me too! I plan to be a part of the next round. Haven't driven a lap in any of the cars yet. :scared: I'll probably lean toward Ferrari if at all possible and if I can find and refine a tune that suits me.

Great job taking the reins on this one Paul and also thanks to the large support team for the series as this wasn't easy to get off the ground and I could only assist in a minimal way. 👍

PS. We are going to let the "dust settle" for a few days from Le mans (so keep your race reports coming) and then reconfigure the thread and google docs for Spa.

I have a suggestion why don't move the nurnberg race to the 22nd of september and do the laguna seca race on the current nurnberg date. Because on the 22nd of september there will actually be a blaincpain race on the ring.

Wow, very nice pics Jon 👍
That Ferrari in the last 3 pictures has an nice paint job

That 'Ferrari' is a McClaren, never tought I would here these words out of the mouth of an Italian :)

Lol, yes that is what happens when you time an event equal to RL :) Except for the Laguna Seca race all events are planned on the actual BES dates ;) Nurnburg was sheduled originaly on the RL 24hr weekend aswell, but has been rescheduled because there was not enough preperation time.

oink... I watched a bit of your saved stream including your pit stop. If you are ever going to beat me you need to learn a tip... During the pit I saw you eating Pringles... offer a couple of those to your pit crew and they add fuel faster. You know what they say, "Everything Pops with Pringles!"

I would have liked to see how Ghost went from last to 2nd in one lap.

Yeh, those pringles were sitting there, so figured I might as well eat some. I left some for the pit crew. They could have some on the basis I got a podium. So I ate the rest after the race :D

Here is a new and more informative team results image:

2013_GT3TeamResults_LeMans.png

Looking at this table Ferrari should be capable of a pretty big bounce back at Spa. Both Frank and Scott had unfortunate failures (with their equipment) that cost them quite a few positions. Move both up a few positions and Team Ferrari is right up there with McLaren.

Of course, on the other hand, put GhostDriver in room A where he would have qualified and McLaren is most likely ahead of Ford in the standings.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

The dates for GT Academy 2013 have been released and the final challenge (the one that counts) finishes on July 28th... the same day of the Spa GT3 race. That may rule out a few drivers and damage the preparation for others who want to focus on GT Academy so we're going to collect some feedback from drivers concerning the original date versus some alternate dates on the weekends before and after the original date.

If there is no clear winner among dates we'll keep the race on the original date (July 28).

Please click the following link and fill out the form by rating each time slot with your probability of making the race if it were held at that time:

We'll allow a week for answers to be collected and then we'll make a decision and open registrations for the Spa race.

Great pictures Jon and Christophe 👍👍👍

I put my vote in for the dates :)

GT3 drivers... don't forget to fill out the Spa Event Date Survey if you haven't already.

At this point there are 10 responses and no clear preferred date. We would like to see more like 20+ responses before we make a decision on the race date.

Submitted a response ;)

I don't see a response, but I suspect there is something wrong with the survey. this is using Google's "new" form system and it appears to be a bit more finicky.

Please, everyone hold off on submitting until I figure this out. The first 10 responses are shown, but the others appear to be lost. I can see a summary saying 16 responses were made, but the latest 6 are nowhere.

OK, I had to revert to the old form approach. Two issues...

First, I lost the responses from the latest 5 entries (including Bart's) and only could see the first 10. Second, the old system only allows 5 responses so instead of 10% increments it had to be 25% increments so I translated the old responses as best I could to the new values.

The following responses have been translated... fill out the form again if you want to enter new percentages (which might be better than my "translations") and the new response will override your first:
  1. GTP_WRP001
  2. GTP_gooners_17
  3. GTP_WiiFreak
  4. GTP_Speedy6543
  5. GTP_Hasslemoff
  6. GTP_SnowCrash
  7. GTP_n0iZe
  8. GTP_Jammy
  9. GTP_Mika
  10. GTP_mcfizzle

Anyone not on the list above should respond again please. Sorry!

EDIT: From the summary it looks like responses from the following were lost:
  1. GTP_otxjto
  2. GTP_ROCK3T
  3. GTP_PASM
  4. GTP_gtevolution
  5. GTP_w-g-e

Mercedes is the only team missing a D1 driver. Actually it is very interesting to just look at the division spread across the cars in general.

Is it possible that the standings follow the newest posts so that we don´t need to look it up on the last page?

Not sure I understand. The point standings are in the OP for ultimate ease of locating which is pretty much standard for any series at GTP.

EDIT: Maybe you mean the new layout for the standings? I can move that there also.

You did understand right ;) indeed it is easier to find on last page i just thought about a replacement to the first page, so every driver gets an immediately overview of the rankings and left stages, but as you say its standart everywhere so it's ok how it is now.

Survey submitted... 👍 Since I was unable to attend the race at Sarthe, am I still able to participate in the upcoming events? If so, where do I re-register?

Yes you are still able to participate in the upcomimg events.
The registration isnt open yet for Spa, it will be open in the middle of the week once the survey has finished.
To register hit the registration button on the first page once its open :).

Thanks for the info man; I'll do so when the time comes. 👍 I apologize for the more than likely obvious question, but is it true that once you qualify in a car that is your chosen car for the rest of the season (Spa, Laguna Seca and Nurb) or is that chosen car to qualify with only used for the following (1) race. ?

Yes, once you qualify, you are committed to that car.

Steward's Notes:

Welcome to the inaugural WRS GT3 World Championship season: a four race series based loosely upon the Blancpain Endurance Series. The series follows the calendar dates for the real life events using circuits available in GT5 with a North American stop at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca added as a bonus.

There are cars from four different manufacturers to choose from: Ford GT '06 | Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG '10 | Ferrari 458 Italia '09 | McLaren MP4-12C '10. The cars have been homologized so test them all and find the one that suits your driving style best. Pick wisely as once you qualify in a car you are committed for the season.
