Race Specifics:
  • The event MUST be run using your registered account
  • The use of the clutch that is found on the G25, G27, and other high end racing wheels is strictly prohibited.
  • Use of the Handbrake is Prohibited.
  • No Contact with walls or other objects. Any contact with walls, no matter how minor, will result in a DQ.
  • Red and White Rumble Strips and Tarmac are Track Surface. No other surfaces are track.
  • The Concrete Surface found on the outside of the rumble strip and past white boundary lines in several turns is not track. This means concrete, cobbles, grasscrete, or anything else that is not one of the 2 allowed surfaces.
  • See examples below. Those who use these runoff areas without keeping at least 2 wheels on Tarmac or Rumble Strips will be DQ'd. This does not mean these are the only 2 out of bounds areas. These pictures are posted for clarification only.
  • The final tunnel has an especially ambiguous border on the right side. Follow the white line there to stay safe.

The following areas are not part of the track. If you do not keep at least 2 wheels on track surface, you will be DQ'd.

Steward's Comments:

A redo of a GT5 combo that rocked. 👍

Viewing your T1 & T2 Time Splits:
  • You need to make sure you save the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay' (See pic below)
  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Home' and watch the replay from there using the 'Gallery' option.
  • Live timing monitor does not work properly, so we have to use a small trick to view splits.
  • While viewing your Replay, pause the lap by hitting start, before the end of the first sector.
  • While keeping the replay paused, advance the replay, using the forward arrow on the replay HUD. This will advance the replay to the end of the first sector. That's your T1 split, write it down.
  • Advance the replay again. That will show the lap to date time on the screen, this is your first and second sector time, added together.
  • To post your T1 & T2 Splits, simply post the lap to date times that are shown in the middle of the screen. Do not try to calculate the actual split times, the Fetchbot will do that for you.

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • At Least 2 Tires must be in contact with track at all times.

    • In situations where contact with the track is not possible because tires are airborne (above the ground), then the run is only legal if at least two tires in-line would have made contact with the track if the car were not airborne.
    • If track contact cannot be 100% determined, then consider it dirty.
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track.
  • No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind, these are relaxed races and we are experienced racers, we know what times can be done, and we can read your mind. We will know.
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules.
Thread rules:
The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on Skype or via other private IM service.):
  • Total Lap Time
  • Any information which can be used to infer your total laptime
The following information can be discussed in this thread :
  • The first 2 splits: T1 and T2 times
  • Any settings discussion

Submission:
All submissions must be sent by PM (Subject title: GTP_WRS Week 120 Submission ) to (WRSFetchbot):
  • Then attach your 'Best Lap'/'Ghost' replay in zip file form. Everyone submits a replay instead of listing a lap time.
  • You will need to put something in the message body in order to begin a conversation. It doesn't matter what you put, it can even be 1 letter or symbol. Nobody but the Fetchbot is going to see it, so it's sort of pointless, anyhow.
  • You will get an automated response within 15min, letting you know whether your submission was accepted, or if you had an error.
  • If you have an error, don't panic. Just review the instructions for submission and submit again. If you are having trouble and cannot figure it out, please post your question in the race thread.
  • Users can ask the bot for the current submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week XX Get Entry" and any text in the body.
  • Users can delete their submitted time by sending a message with the Subject: "GTP_WRS Week XX Remove Entry" and any text in the body.
  • If you want to submit multiple times in the week that is still not a problem. Just reply to the conversation with your new time and new replay. Fetchy always uses the last submitted time as the final one.
  • See this screenshot as an example on how to submit:

  • The deadline is Monday, May 9th 11:59pm GMT
  • If you are unsure of the deadline try this site
Why Use GMT?:

GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.
Replay Checking:
  • Everyone is required to submit a replay for verification. This happens when you submit to the Fetchbot, and the replays will be visible in the leaderboard, once we've reached the event deadline
  • Participants will be expected to check each others' replays for cleanliness, for replays marked in the Results thread as (Check Needed)
  • Video replays are not accepted as a form of verification

So I'm not sure how to play by the rules here, do we abide by the white line painted a foot away from the curb stones or do we use the curbs to determine the limit of "2 tyres"?
Splits pending on what is deemed legal by stewards.

Wasn't sure if we were working by the 2 wheels inside the white lines or not, to quote the last line in red of the post.

  • The final tunnel has an especially ambiguous border on the right side. Follow the white line there to stay safe.
So I wasn't sure if that was going to be the logic everywhere or not. Thanks for clarifying @mistersafeway.

Ok so moving forward knowing what I'm doing is legal, I keep getting DQ'd by GT at turn 4 when I go over the white line but still on the curb/tarmac next to it and that's bugging me so far, keeps ruining my great sector 1s.

At least the diff is 5/20 and is doing its job. Will see how this pans out, might turn out to be a car that likes me.

There is still tarmac behind the white line = track
Red and white curbstones = track

In the tunnel, the surface beyond the white line is gray cobbles of some sort, which is NOT track. Because of the poor light there, we take the white line as a reference, as the tarmac ends just about with the white line.

Thanks @PASM, really wasn't sure how the regulations were interpreted (If it was a case of "rules are rules and they won't change" or "yeah this track is silly, rules modified for the venue") and I'm glad WRS works on the latter format.
@randy1122 Teach me your ways! I need a love guru to help me accept FF's for the clever cost effective and build time efficient designs they are, allowing me to look past the superficial inability to drift and do (forward) donuts.

I cannot for the life of me get the middle sector right. Had a few t1s under 28.1, but all are followed by an abomination of crappy lines and understeer. Confident I can get a reasonable last sector, but at this rate I will have the slowest middle sector of all.

Can't wait to see some of the top replays in a week or so. I know I am doing it wrong, and it feels awful through the middle, but I am looking forward to seeing how it's done.

@StigsTC You have to accept the FF for what it is and adjust for it. There's 2 things I know,it's going to understeer on entry and exit and theres going to be wheel spin..

Run a higher front brake bias to shift more weight to the front im runn 7/5..?for eample,on exit of the 2nd tunnel tap the brakes to shift the weight back to the front so you'll have more grip on that annoying dip,a little wider entry helps to adjust for the understeer on exit. And easy on the throttle on exit, it's going to spin, knowing that and a wider entry allow for the car to push wide on exit. Their enjoyable to me because I know what it's going to do,everytime.
Nice thing about this car is that it has some throttle release oversteer when your steering angle is right.

Now ,help me understand why the front of this car seems like it bounces around to me.

A recent GT6 Community club event was FF tuner cars around Deep Forest Reverse. Really enjoyed it! Looking forwards to improve my times on this one. Just 5 laps so far.

Fetchy doesn't get rounded splits. I think you'll have to post them again to show up on the leaderboards.

@suprajef @Mike458 and @MadMax were great fun to race with in the practice room! We were doing WRS Event 119 to prepare for Wednesday EU and (maybe) NA races.

I nipped out to have a last go at TT 119 and improved by 0.060s which actually moved me up a bit amongst the front D2 drivers.

Returned and this lovely TT 120 was being tested out with different tyre wear and slipstream settings. Fast tyre wear and Weak slipstream made tremendous pack races with this car on this track!

Really fair racing - hugely enjoyable. Might try to clear my weekend so I can do the Saturday world session for event 120. As well as next Wednesday EU and (maybe) NA.

Loving the combination even though I'm not hitting times I want

Edit: It might be useful if I changed the oil.

That's gone a lot better than I anticipated early on, hopefully I can improve as much as @randy1122 does from here on, going to be one heck of a task to keep up.

Also @BenMillard, your last split update wasn't caught by the system, but that time is frankly amazing on a DS3! I was nowhere near it when I was running recon before swapping to wheel, mega lap man.

I really don't know how much more I can find without finding something new to improve with. Only another tenth MAYBE two left in it for me which is a bit scary being only the second day.

(Don't worry, fumbled S3 to barely improve from my last one)

Guess the car likes me, not enough to just hand it to me but enough to keep me interested. I tip my hat to the WRS mods who find a way each week to pick a car/tyre combo that is juuust not enough grip to chuck it to full throttle out of the corners and get away with it. Makes every corner a battle and is making this week rather entertaining and challenging 👍.

We tried Comfort Soft, but we figured a triple dare with Comfort Soft might not go down that well :lol::lol:

Seriously, the car is much more fun to drive on Sports Hard.
