GTP_WRS Week 53 : Photo Comp

WHAT IS IT?
The WRS Photo Competition allows WRS'ers the opportunity to show their Digital Photography Skills on GT5P. Your task is to create a picture that can be used for the Weekly results thread. All entries in this thread will be judged by the race steward, and the winning picture will be posted in the results thread.

WHAT ARE THE RESTRICTIONS
The only restrictions placed on the photo you create are:

• Photo must be 640 x 480 pixels
• Photo must relate to the Week 53 race
• Photo must be taken with a car of the color mandated in the GTP_WRS Week 53 Thread
  
• Photo must be submitted before Monday, November 9th
  

And that's it! Only one photo per competitor but feel free to update your entry during the week 👍

This is a great idea Kevin and I'd love to have a go, unfortunately I'm a complete noob at this sort of thing, how does one go about getting the image from the tv screen onto here?!?!?

I always liked it in the final WRS GT4 days when we could contribute to the results process by handing in Photo Mode work, but for now we have to do without that function regretfully.

LOL somehow I feel I'm part responsible for this idea

You need a digital camera. And something to upload from the camera to your PC. (USB Cable, SD Card, etc.)

After that, you need to upload the image to a photo hosting site. (ImageShack, PhotoBucket, etc.)

You can crop it, re-size it, and make other edits there.

Then just post the link in here, using tags. 👍

Nope, I just think that compared to the Photomode function in GT4 the photo quality taken with a camera off a tv screen is far inferior. That said, I still very much like the illustrations that you make for the weekly combos Kevin 👍

I have taken a few shots of the Ferrari from my home page. Question 2. Is this allowed?

This so far I think captures the essence of what the competition is all about, in my opinion this is by far the best picture I’ve seen to date.

Not only does it capture the still of the 512bb, you can see the blurriness of the tarmac and grass, in the distance as the big wheel comes into shot, from the rolling scenery of in game play.

The lighting don’t look bad, give a sense of long shadows and fading light as the 512bb banks over on its suspension in this action shot.

9/10 I say.

Capture card is OK, although certainly not common for most. 👍

Yes, it's allowed. However, I would suggest the more relevant the picture, the better chance it has of winning.

But please share your creative side.

Something I wanted to try out but haven't had a chance, I think most of the guys so far have taken a photo of their best lap replay. If you do a multi lap session and save the replay of the whole thing, remember the system has different replay angles for subsequent laps so there may be some more gems in a longer replay 👍

Hmm these didn't come off the camera as nice as I had hoped, was trying to use some long exposure to blur the environment but capture a sharp image of the car. And using photoshop.com's limited editing tools I came up with this for now...
