All drivers must run at the specified Tires, Top Speed, Weight and Horsepower settings for each round.

All Other Standard Online Racing Rules apply.
  • No Cheating, Hybrids, or any funny stuff like that. Run the car according to the Specifications please.
  • Try and keep two wheels on the road at all times. No shortcuts.
  • No wall-riding. It slows you down.
  • TCS and/or ACS is allowed IF DESIRED, but NOT mandatory.
  • Discussion of the split times is allowed but the full lap and race times are not be mentioned in the thread until the results have been posted and made official. Doing so will subject the driver to a time penalty to be added on to the qualifying and/or race time.

Otherwise a time penalty of 1 second for every minute after the deadline it is sent in by will be assesed to the Qualifying and Race times. A couple more notes before we get things going here.

  • Some Ground Rules: Twin Ring Motegi is a more wide open circuit for us to race on this round with more runoff area available should any of us happen to go off of the track. However...
  • Corner cutting on the track in an effort to try to reduce your times is highly discouraged. This especially applies to when you're going through S-curve, V-curve, Hairpin and Victory Corner.:grumpy: And if you were in the process of passing one of the AI cars while you're off track regardless of where you are, you're to let the car(s) by ASAP.
  • Twin Ring Motegi is a long track. And some of the straights are pretty lengthy. So you might have some trouble keeping up with the other cars depending on what you have the AI set to. So keep that note in mind for this round. ;)
  • Again regarding submitting your times, for the Clio Cup Season once you have submitted your times, they're locked in and can not be changed. If you believe you can do better, hold off on sending the times in until you believe you cannot do any better or don't think you would have any more time to try to set a faster time. And make sure you PM your final times to myself(CAMikaze) and RACECAR before the race deadline so that you don't get asessed any penalties. ;)👍

And with all that said...

Good luck, and good racing to all of you!:sly:👍

Going to have to work hard on this one. As I see it there are two problems for me - I have never enjoyed the light at this track and I find the braking points very hard to find.

Good luck everyone.

nige

You ain't kidding!

It's one of the hardest tracks to get a consistent race on, as the braking points are difficult to judge and the track is very slippery too which doesn't help either.

Oh jolly ho! 👍
Man, its great to race here in Twin Ring Motegi! :D I like the layout of the track myself, especially when i'm playing TT. The lighting doesn't affect me at all i guess. But the main problem here is tire wear as usual  As it takes maybe around 2'10.XXX+ around this track (i think), there is a major problem if your tire starts to wear out during th race..... :indiff:

Well i'll be trying my best and hopefully get myself closer to those Hungarians.... ;)

Hi Racers!!!!
Good news (for me)
I manage to get the old ps2 working again!!!!!!!!
Here are the splits of the best lap out of the first 20 at Twin Ring Motegi Road Course
T1: 35.149
T2: 1.04.951
T3: 1.30.721

Glad to be racing again with you guys.

 That's very good Smokalot.:)👍 For the sake of asking, how were you able to do it? Did you give it a good cleaning out and used a DVD Maintenance Kit in the process?

You must be joking.:sly:
2'10.xxx is a little bit hmm...how to say....not so fast.

i used a dvd lens cleaner and still did not work....so i remember old ps1 days and try the kamasutra (lol, changing positions) on it
just for the start of the game...once it starts i put the ps2 on the horizontal position.

hopefuly it will hold for this round.

P.S: sorry for my bad english

Hey Clio Cup drivers, hope things are going allright with you for this round. :)👍

THought I'd give you a heads-up in regards to some news regarding the series. There are going to be one or two rules changes that will take effect beginning with Round 6 of the series. One will be a clarification of a rule in regards to racing setup. The other is depoendent on the results of a poll question I have just posted in this thread. Let me explain.

So far in the Clio Cup Nations Cup competition there are 5 teams competing. I was thinking of expanding the points table in the competition to 10 positions so that alll the teams competing get a better chance of scoring in each race. The points paid off will be 15-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2 and 1 respectively. Like before, each Nations top 2 finishing drivers will score points in each race. If this passes, it will take effect with the next round in the series.

For the vote, we ask that only the drivers registered for the Clio Cup series take part. We want the vote to be as honest as possible. And just so you know, the deadline for the vote will occur before the deadline for submitting your times for this round. Make sure you have your vote in as soon as possible.

Definitely not my favourite track this one. Finding consistent laps is very difficult, particularly the braking zones!

T1 - 34'7xx

T2 - 1'03.6xx

T3 - 1'28.8xx

Slight improvement between T2 and T3 after having run the races giving 0'2 at the line.

T1 - 34'7xx

T2 - 1'03.6xx

T3 - 1'28.7xx

Happy racing,

nige

Nice sector times from you. Here are my best sectors:

1st sector: 0'34.297.
2nd sector: 1'03.363.
3rd sector: 1'28.529.

And the finish is... about 2 minutes.
Sorry for my mistakes in my writing and for my bad grammar.:dunce:

Coke - Great splits 👍
Had another session tonight.

T1 - 34'284

T2 - 1'03.272

T3 - 1'28.509

Pleased with T1 and T2 but lost 0.1 or so between T2 and T3

Edit : Slightly worse T1 and T2 but an improved T3 split :

T3 - 1'28.409

Happy racing,

nige

My best lap to date:

T1 - 34'324

T2 - 1'03.142

T3 - 1'28.268

Happy racing,

nige

Check out my new qualifying time below. The lap is totally clean (no out of track).

THX for the challenge.

Happy racing too you.

Nicely done.👍 Here are my new sector times in Qualifying.

T1: 0'34.166
T2: 1'02.848
T3: 1'27.948
Finish: Sorry, wait for the results.:sly:

Here are my best splits so far:

T1: 34.8xx

T2: 1'04.3xx

T3: 1'30.4xx

...yeah, I need to learn the last half of the track better...

First Splits today:

T1: 0'33.993

T2: 1'02.912

T3: 1'28.088

This was the most smoothest lap I've had the entire time I've driven around here and every sector was spot-on. I think my last sector can be greatly improved.

Awesome splits racecar.......you just make wanna go faster.... thanks......all the others racers puts their splits in I.E: 1-xx.xxx...... now i will try harder to improbe my times.
GOOD Race to ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S: once again sorry for my awful english....

During the races I've been doing, I have gotten a 1'29 split at T3, so it appears I have work to do if I want to get some good results this round. My take on TRM is that it pretty much a momentum track for the cars that we race. You get the car off the track, you're going to lose a lot of time for your lap and it makes catching up to the leading car a lot harder.:nervous:

ufff a long afternoon for me......best slips so far(probably the ones that counts for the event):
T1:0.34.732
T2:1.04.263
T3:1.29.967

My fingers are numb........now i will do the sprint and feature race.....Good race to all

Submitted my time to CAMikaze.
It was really disappointing weekend. Really didn't do much really. Barely keeping up with the AI and crashing out when i don't really pay that much attention

Last night as I raced, I got a good idea as to where I should brake going into some of the corners. I say it's working so far as I have cut my race times down by 4 seconds compared to what I have been doing this round thus far. I may have hit the high end of the 1'28 range at T3, but I'll have to double-check the replays to see if this is the case.:)

REMINDER: Times for Round 5 have to be in by Midnight, GMT today.
