General Information and Regulations

As with last season there will be three types of race event during the season. There will be 4 Standard rounds of 50mi and 5 Enduro rounds of 100mi and 1 Super-Enduro round of 150mi.

Week starts on Monday, with times to be sent via PM by 11.59pm GMT on Sunday

There is NO HP penalty for joining the series part way through the season.

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by GTPCTC sanctioning body, umm...me for now unless the GTMSA wants to pick me up :P. Any and all questions should be directed to GTPCTC officials (namely me..and anyone else who wants to help out) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manor.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by me for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

* Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
* No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
* Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
* No wall-riding as well. Combined with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
* All decisions by GTMSA officials are final
* The race track for this season will be defined as the area between the white or yellow lines. This means rumble strips do not count as track.

Qualifying

* Single hot lap in time trial (arcade) mode
* Weight penalty in effect
* SS tyres only
* ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
* Laps MUST be clean, no collisions no matter how small are acceptable
* Points: 3pts - 2pts - 1pt
* 20 second penalty added to race time if you don't submit a qualifying time
* Qualifying will be open for 1 week per round (i.e. Monday to Sunday)

Short week for me.

27.753 - 53.855 - 1'21.146

Sure I won't be in the thick of things. Last week at DF was ideal for me. Not like the corners here where my AT (combined with driver skill) puts me at a disadvantage.

SuperShouden: the STR4 might have an advantage here.

Although I do appreciate the optimistic thought. 👍

I'm trying to predict who'll qualify fastest here and I can't do it. There's a huge hill (Rahal Straight) which will slow the lesser horsepower cars down I would imagine. But then they'll be able to out-corner the heavier machines.

Did tyre testing and then went back and ran another 10 qualifying laps. Made small improvement. Time submitted in ST class.

is everyone busy playing PS3 like me? or something? I know you all have another day yet, but, still...

G'Day fellow Seca(r's).

Times submitted.
As usual I allowed myself a 1 hour Sunday Night session.

GS -
T1 : 25 . 188
T2 : 49 . 001
T3 : 1 ' 13 . 476

ST -
T1 : 27 . 402
T2 : 53 . 693

Not much time the rest of the week due to the usual RL stuff.
Also playing Starcraft ll which is taking up more of my free time than GT at the present.

I was in Atlantic City New Jersey this weekend on the beach, and I got the sunburn to prove it. But otherwise, I'm finally getting some laps done.

Question: Are all the "legal" cars in use?

Rotary Junky, join us!

Ok, so we've had the whole house interior painted this week, and they tried to deliver our new sofa yesterday which we've discovered won't go up the stairs. :dunce:
We're now figuring if it's going to be easier to try and remove the living room window and put it through (although the living room is on the 2nd floor, and the window is about 20ft from the nearest roadway and down some steps meaning we can't just pull up a crane alongside the building...) or if the manufacturer can take it back and make it into 2 more manageable pieces. :scared:
Whatever the result it's going to cost us more than we'd bargained for.
Oh well, just finished touching up all the new paintwork that got scuffed by 4 different attempts to get the friggin' thing in. :ouch: It's now sitting in the garage where the Miata should be parked.

Anyway, I've run some laps here and now have a best with the following splits:

T1 24.920
T2 48.538
T3 1'12.897

Submitting now.

I know I started this series, but I don't think I'm gonna finish it. If PB or someone wants to take over the scoring and stuff, just PM me with your email and I can email you my spreadsheet. If not, I'll try to take a break from my PS3 games to update the scores.

On that note: the current standings will be up by tomorrow.

Booo! That sucks! 👎
Especially given that if results aren't up until tomorrow we won't have our race details and it'll be another short week (especially as I'm away from Saturday until Tuesday.)

On this basis too you'll also find people reluctant to join other series that you organise in future as they'll never be sure if they'll be seen through properly, and that's never been the way the GTMSA approved series operate.

I'll have to think about it (whether I wanna take over keeping score and such). I've never been a very good leader or organizer, you see. Maybe Too Old might be available? I'll PM him perhaps, he sure rose to the occasion when we needed a judge a few months back. Or maybe I'll do it.

Grrr....I gotta think about it. :indiff:

hmmm....I might be up for at least posting the new races and results and all that...and I'll probably do a GT5 CTC series and see it through to completion. I think the next one won't be 10 rounds, but we'll see.

Also, I'll actually probably tally everything after work tonight and get the results and stuff all posted. :) I've just been a smidge distracted is all.

Maybe I'll play a little GT1 and 2 sometime. :)

If the other Baby Boomer wants to take over I would be happy to help him out.
Besides I need someone to help me tune my Zimmerframe :)

I can't do it. I wouldn't be able to organize everything, especially since I don't have a real computer at home (it's an internet TV system) and then everyone would get mad at me. :grumpy: I don't think it would be fair to ask Too Old to get involved, so I'm not gonna ask him personally. It would feel like I'd be pressuring the old guy or something.

There's my time by the way. :D Coulda been better, but Laguna Seca is one of those tracks that I get one corner perfect, the next one so-so, the next one I'm behind my ghost.

My Hotlap in the ST class was: 1'47.859

And have my race for this week completed too.

I know I have miss a few races and don't have much say on this but...
Why can we just have a 7 round series? Maybe there should be a pole on the remaining races to see which one should be the last 💡
There are a couple of other series going on one starting this week and another shortly after, I'm sure we can go over to those to keep the GT4 spirit going. :)

I was thinking about that, raz. There are 4 more races left and I was, instead of completely abandoning this series simply do one last race, shortening the rounds to 7. Would you all be interested in that? I was thinking of just doing the Grand Valley race and calling it good.

Sorry, I don't have the times for the qualifying up, yet. I'll get to it, soon. I'm going to make this a full week, though, so you'll have until Monday to get times in.

I'm down with calling it after 7 rounds...for obvious reasons. :) But I also agree with Smallhorse when he says it doesn't make sense to organize future events when it seems they might also not be completed.

Either way, I do wanna give SuperShoulden a 👍 for keeping CTC/GT4 going as long as he did. And Grand Valley seems fine as the final shot. Actually any track we were gonna do EXCEPT Paris is fine with me!

G'Day all.
Good close times there.Well done everyone.

Rather than drop the series now, I would be willing to take over.

I am sure the front runners would prefer to slug it out to the end ?
Personally, I think entrants such as myself and oldmodelt, may still have a part to play in the final standings ( stealing points where possible ! ).
I am doing my best to enter more races and not just the qualifying. The prospect of shorter races is attractive to me as well ( especially Opera Paris, where I will give PB a run for his money for sure :sly: ).

However, this a democracy, so majority rules. Everyone make their thoughts known and SS can decide then. Fair enough ?
