it would be nice to be able to adjust our transmissions other than that the mustang is only slower by a little bit. if we could change trans setting it could be as fast as some of the other cars.

We'll get through some group testing and the test race and see how it all goes.

Is there a possibility of introducing non-USDM cars that would qualify if they are otherwise equal?

I'd prefer that the car be in the vein of what competes in Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, but we can talk about that via PM if you have an idea.

This was something I was thinking about doing a while back. I got around to building a Mustang, 370z and Z4 M, then I just never did anything else for some reason. No way I would have been able to do something that looks this great, though.

I'll likely sign up as a reserve, as I have a lot of things going on right now. No idea what car or class, but I'll get around to that. Even if I don't make any races, you have my full support.

👍

Many thanks! It's a great series that deserves to be represented here on GTPlanet!

Sign me up!

ST Class
LancerEvo7 (GTP_LancerEvo7) - #43 East Coast Motorsports Civic Type R

You're in! Very glad to have you, and super stoked to have another ST car.

Chris

Looks like this could be a good series. I'm interested but I can't decide if to go with a Mustang in GS or a Mazda MX-5 in ST. Well I guess put me down for GS in a Mustang. Maybe if you don't get more pepe's for ST you and Lancer should run GS too. That would give more cars in the same class. Would hate to see the two of you racing all by yourselves if one car ends up slightly faster than the other. Maybe if you get more interest in the ST class before the first actual race I'll switch to that with the MX-5, then you'll have a few cars for each class.

PSN: GTdriveBOSS

P.S. Only thing I'm worried about is the stock gearing. With only a 5-speed and high gears, hopefully the lower weight and medium tires make up for it. But the tires have me worried about front tire wear issues. The Mustang tends to understeer and the softer tires might blow off the front quick. Think it'll be alright though. I'll do some testing in the morning.

I'll run whatever class is less subscribed in each race.......I'll build up a car for each class that way we can have a reasonable number of cars in each class. I'm not interested in the championship, just good clean racing whatever the class.

Strangely, in the GT5 simulation there is no tire-life difference between soft, medium or hard. So any excess wear that you get on the front end of the Mustang is a factor of its very heavy front end.

We'll see how entries go, there is still time to add entries, and we don't strictly need a full compliment for the Roar this weekend, which is a test session. The more significant tune that I've put in place on the Mustang is there for the car to be competitive - period. There is a fixed (stock) final drive ratio in the CTSCC, and as we are simulating that championship, that is how it is going to be in this series.

That's totally cool, obviously, so long as we aren't fully subscribed.

Hey, I think I'd like to get in on this series... I'd like to run in ST with either the GTI or the Cooper S. When I make a final car decision I'll let you know, I'm gonna do some testing tomorrow before I choose.

Naptown25rs (NCemtB)
ST Class - Car undecided.

On the Civic, the HP and weight are way over and under (respectively) the posted value after applying parts. Should I use the limiter and add ballast, or am I missing something?

Don't know. Haven't been on the PS3 to check. Will be able to go on in about two hours or so. Practice then?

Chris

Rob told me about this today, I'd like to get my name on the GS list if I'm not too late. Car TBD for the moment.

Thanks,
Jay

Jonerz I like your organisational skills and was wondering if you'd be interested in making a series of the Pirelli World Challenge with me? If not thats fine.

Yay, site is up. Anyway, there's gonna be a practice soon, I'll put the room number up it the coming minutes.

No more room. See you tomorrow!

Great to have you, Jay! I'll write you down tentatively as the final GS entry. Tell me tomorrow if you think you want to run with us full time.

Chris

Would it be possible to sign up as a reserve for both classes and just go with whatever class that needs the most drivers for that particular race? I want to give the Challenger a try, but I see you're lacking ST drivers (likely due to this random phobia of slow cars that this sub-forum has) and I like that Mini.

Thanks, I forgot to add that my PSN is the same, Buzzberd73.

As for your practice this evening, would it be a problem if I were to try a couple of cars? Even though I requested a GS entry yesterday I'd like to see whether I'd like one of the ST cars better.

I'm pretty worried, I haven't had much success in gtp races, and my 370 seems underpowered.

The 370 wa not hurting for power.....I could not catch you in the draft with either the M3 or the Camaro.

Are you driving with a wheel?

A few things I noticed that are slowing you a bit were.....you are weaving a lot on the banking and that hurts your top end (understandable if you are driving with a DS3)

The other thing I noticed is that you try to attack corner entry too hard. Brake a little earlier to slow up the car before you turn in. Because you attack entry so hard you corner exit speeds are down and that hurts you all the way down the next straight, which makes you seem underpowered.

Anyway, just keep your nose clean and have fun.....success will come in time.

Remember "go slow to go fast"

@ Jay,

Testing a few cars is totally cool......just have them built up and ready in your garage before time so you can change quickly. I'll be trying a few diff cars too. It's just a test afterall.

Yes, I am running a DS3. Another good thing is for me to practice the entry on Turn 1.
