i had an idea for us drifters, probably a stupid one but i thought i would share it anyway

what about a rank system based on the overall average driftscore for all tracks. the idea is to take your highest overall driftscore for each track divided with no. of track

for each rank there could be difference of 4000 points
0-4000=NOOB
4000-8000=below average
etc.
or something like that, this is just a rough draft

ofcourse this would have to be done by each individual user

IMO, we cannot really rank any members because drifting various upon the condition. Though that we would have to have a panel of veteran judges and have a public vote to rightly place the member.

if they should be 100% accurate, then yes judges and or complicated systems would be need. but since people in here, tend to be fair players i would trust their rank,
but your probably right, it various on conditions.
it would be pretty cool though

Yes but not all gt drift pros use drift mode so that wouldnt be fair to them. So it would just promote a false sense of skill. If anything like this were to happen we would need judges.

Drift trial mode isn't all that great. It promotes you to use N1 tires to achieve a high score by going slower. I high score should be given for going through a section faster well maintaining a good line.

Its also how well you control your car. alot of people start thinking its really easy becuase someone will see me do it, just becuase someone makes it look easy doesnt mean it is. im no pro but my highest score is 16012 with my blitz.

until a tandem drift system is made, the only way to rank players on these forums is by using ranks from the drift trials. I say billos247 should be the one to make an official gt planet rankings list since he is the top drifter here.or maybe we can sort out a weekly drift trial championship? just a suggestion.....

Who makes him the top drifter? We will do the ranking the old fashion way if you guys prefer. Videos and Judges like the old GTPDC days !

I think we forget this is only a game lol , and yes i might be one of the top drifters at getting points but that doesnt make me a great drifter ive seen a lot of videos and theres a lot of people out there better than me (drifting the whole track) , and as for judges i prefer the letting the game decide what you get but i would like to drift the whole track for points not just sections .That would be a challenge ,and i think a lot of people would want this ...

Who said games couldnt be competitive? Although If we do start up the GTPDC's again, I think we should at least wait until GT5 actually comes out. No point in doing it until it actually comes out. Either way im down to judge NK, and maybe even run if I have the time.

Imagine the score on N1's (Nurburgring) & how focus you'll have to stay 4 whole lap (15min? ). I wonder if they will give us empty rankings on tracks from GT5 (ehh obvious...)

If we do have a competition like in the old days, we are most likely going to do a challenging section of the Nurburgring with many turns, bumps, uphill/downhill.

I beated one/two of his scores but it didn't take much time 4 him to kick my ass Same with x-neko-x, once I beat one of his scores, he's back after 10-15min ( wtf? text messages or what? )

Rankings should only be taken from OFFICIAL sources, not a half ass competition between 5 or 6 people,thats just crap....Whats needed here is some leadership from someone that has PROVEN drift skills, is well organised, is not bias and has good communication. In my opinion Billos247 is the top candidate, with the biggest scores, best technique and has the ability to improve on his scores in very little time. Anyone who says otherwise needs to put their egos aside and recognise that he is OFFICIALLY the best here, i mean come on, who else on here has ever beaten a score set by stepmania!!??... for all those KIDS who think there the best drifter by using s1-s2 tyres just because there "faster" need to grow up and realise that drifting isnt all about speed it is about CONTROL hence the reason more points are awarded using n1-n2 tyres

Go tell the Formula D and D1GP guys they should go slower. Those guys whip it mad hard. Oh and for the record, the tires they use for drifting are almost if not in fact r compound tires. They don't drift on worn down pieces of **** like what N1 and N2 would be. Come challenge me online. I'm one of the worst guys on XAT and I'm still sure I could hand you your ass.

1. Who are you calling a kid?
2. Do your research Speed, Line and Angle. So tell me where drifting isnt about speed also?
3. The points system on GT5P is serverly flawed. Drifting is judged on Speed, Line, Angle, the most points is awarded to the person going the slowest through the given line rather than the person thats doing the exact same thats much faster. Tell me thats not flawed.
4. No one is "offically the best here". The best dont even use the drift trial modes.

I was on for a while until I managed to find another job. Ugh working full time kinda sucks sometimes.

Got to say, it's true. The drift rank scoring system is bad for the fact that you need to go slow, but at the same time staying near the line. I tried with N3 tires, which gives you more grip & more angle.. Yet, I still end up in like the top 20th or 30th.

I drift with these guys & as much as I seen these people drift has nothing compared to drift rankings & scoring.
