Ok, I just got the ever popular corrupt file save! Can I start a new save and still play? What happens to my stats?

And, guys, is there any symptoms before the game save becomes corrupt? I did backup my save but I was wondering if I could prepare myself for that.

Sneaked a peek at the codies forum, and Loore one of the devs confirmed a patch is on the way hopefully this week:

To confirm:

When the patch arrives it will fix the saves that have become corrupt, you will not have to start again.

In regards to why the saves are becoming corrupt, it's primarily down to an issue with tuning and car ownership that's causing some corrupt data to occur.

I'm hoping to have an update on this for you this week.

wondering if i create a new game save as it asks? i assume I loose all my progression to date then? and if I do a new save, can the patch save the old data?

It will probably overwrite it, so i'm afraid you're gonna have to start over again.

I would advise all of you to stop playing and wait for the patch hopefully this week to fix this.
 
can someone on the GTP team please check the racenet club info and see if I'm still there and if I still have points? I can't access it.

It shows you with 118.114 XP althought when I click in your profile, it shows everything on 0 but that is normal because your savefile is corrupted. If you still have a backup you could try to fix your savefile like I did, where's what you have to do:
  • Check your online cars and see if any of them has an outrageous sell price (for example, let's say that the Peugeout 408 SCB costed 150,000$ when you bought it and now it sells for 1,000,000$ , that is what I'm trying to say), if it does sell it.
  • If eventually after a reboot your game is now working, you shouldn't AT LEAST UNTIL THE PATCH ARRIVES buy upgrades or tuning during the lobby because the game can't save everything on time, so your only hope is to do that outside of lobbies on your Garage. Keep in mind that you can still repair your car during lobbies without any problem.

Thank you Wicken. The game won't let me even load it until I do a file save. So I can either start from scratch or wait for the patch to come through?

I would wait it out until the patch is there and see if you can recover, if you start over you overwrite your old data for sure seeing you don't have a USB backup save.
 
I did save the file that was corrupted however. I'm guessing the same thing happened to you yoo Mister Dog as I remember seeing 0 points for you on the club page.
 
Can someone please let me know how to set active club on this game? I'm asking because for some reason I can't apply the team livery to my car; even though I'm using the correct method. If it helps, GTPlanet Racing is the only club I've joined on the game; so there should be no conflicts.

Haven't played the last 2 weeks due to holidays, and the save was fine before it's just that i don't sport the club livery but drive personalized cars for racenet :)
 
Just wondering if I can join the gtp grid online? Sick of joining random lobbies with unfaire racing. Psn Motocross_09. I mainly race most disciplines touring, street, open wheel, endurance, tune // 74

Did you go and buy a car? By the way, if you're only a member of one club, that should be your active club, so you shouldn't have to set it.

We're in the top 20! Now I just need to get as many people as I can to run the Racenet Club Livery and we'll be at #1 in no time at all...

I tried applying it to the Golf I own. Although I didn't actually buy it, I started off the game with it already in my garage. And it's definitely one I own, seeing as I can fully tune and customize it.
 
ok, I understand that your account is tied in to RaceNet. So, if I start a new game save and play, do I open a new account as to NOT overwrite the RaceNet info? Can I use the option to log on to an existing account, and if so, does that jeopardize my game info? Do I start as another player, and set a new RaceNet and rejoin my club as two accounts? Is there any one At CM that could spend a few moments with us and directly explain what procedures are optimal for this malfunction, or at least what the ramifications are for any of these choices, or just the preferred steps to take when afflicted with this meltdown?

Top 1 is way out of our reach, we won't get anywhere near it unless everyone on the team just decides to boost discipline levels. Even if you had 900 members and most of them barely raced, our position wouldn't increase.
 
can I temporarily log in with my GF's account and you accept me til the patch comes (I'm backing that one up regularly)?
 
@Nick Skyline I will check what my racenet ID is later today when I get a chance then will post it here. So how do I join races online With you guys?

Edit: my racenet name is Motocross09 cheers I will accept invite when I get it.

It seems I have found the answer as to why I can't apply the club livery on my car; and I am beyond confused. I joined the club on this thread, and over Racenet. I was accepted. And indeed, my username is shown on the clubs Racenet rooster. Yet when I click on 'My Racing Clubs' on Racenet, it tells me I am not yet joined up to any club. And when I click on my name on the club rooster (I am logged in by the way), it displays my information just as if I was looking at someone elses profile! :rolleyes: :banghead:
 
I've logged to to MP for the last two days on my GF's account and noticed that there is only 5-6 races going. It looks like with no patch or repair cost complaints being addressed yet that people are just giving up on MP. I wonder what new people coming to the game and going to Multi-Player are thinking when they see a game, recently released, that they just bought having so few players in one of the major features lauded in the game? I hope that CM can put some kind of fire under the rear ends of MS & Sony to expedite the patches and get things resolved soon!
 
Ok guys i'm really eager to boot up GAS, but i don't want to screw up my save file. Can you guys please confirm if you've been playing without problems in the last days if you just avoid the online garage?

The only thing that has happened to me in a month of play was that the game froze at the end of a qualifying session the other day leaving me the only alternative of quitting the session and starting at the back of the grid. The following set of races from that 3-4 of the cars on the grid were ghosted and after quitting my stats show my fastest time attained at 2.1 billion MPH! I have played since with no problems, but my fast time stat is still borked. I have never played online, but someone else here says that he has not either and his save got corrupted so not sure how relevant that is.
