GTPlanet Stock Car Challenge

I guess I will be the first time 55.690
I really hope more people participate this week only 4 days left

I'm away for work until the last week of the month, I'll blow the cobwebs off when I'm back.

Shame that's a favorite combo as well.

Well I ran about 15 laps. There sure is a lot of places to make mistakes on this track. One thing that bugs me, they need to remove one or two of those tire barriers in turn 6. It chokes the turn up too much and I end up clipping the point of the last barrier, and I wouldn't hit the wall if it wasn't there. That's probably just my driving though. This probably isn't going to be a real good time, but I'll try a little more each day. 1:27.919 so far.

How do we register? Or do I just post with a lap time? I newly back to the Xbox One/Forza world.
Welcome to the Communnity! There's no registering, just take the car and track given and post your best time. It goes from Wednesday to Wednesday and the person with the best time gets to pick the next weeks combo. The car is always completely stock, and no tuning allowed, just like it is when you get it.

It's a good faith system, but if you have a really impressive time, you may want to screenshot it just in case someone asks to see proof.

It's best to do it in Rivals mode, so you can chase another car, and since you just started playing, it will save your time(until you run a faster lap with a tuned up car later on sometime)

Excellent! Thanks.

Welcome to the community, and good luck!

4WD cars are probably my biggest strength in racing games, so I'll leave you a 1:24.508 after my 6 lap run :) (recorded a clip but will take some time to get on Xbox DVR). This car is probably capable of getting in the 23s , I was not expecting to be saying that, especially as it puts it on par with my Fiat 500 lobby car seen in my avatar while having 43 less PI.

Dang Lukas! Slow down buddy!

I got quite a bit better after running 45 minutes or so this evening. I'm down to a 1:26.273. I think I can get down in the 1:25's yet.

I really am starting to like this track more and more. Once you get the hang of it, it's a blast when you nail the turns properly. This used to be my least favorite track, and now I really enjoy it.👍

Just dropped my time down to 1:24.958 there is still time to be gained for me on at lest half the corners but I am afraid of hitting the walls the Bugatti is very wide for a narrow track like Long Beach

I've just knocked mine down to 1:24.226, hit most of the corners perfect, but only after I'd messed up the first sector :ouch:. My first few laps I was caught out by just how wide this car is when going in to the fountain section but it definitely makes it a fun and challenging combo 👍.

Try driving the Bugatti with out traction control I was over 1.5 seconds a lap faster
I already am. I don't use TCS on anything anymore. The only aid I use at all is braking line, and I know that's a bad one to keep. I'm a lot faster than I was a couple months ago, I'm just not as fast as you guys. I like doing this sort of thing though, it makes me better.

I know a lot of the top guys "use" the braking line, as in they leave it on for reference points when they approach a corner at different speeds. It depends really whether you rely on the braking line to get around the track without crashing, or if it's just there for when you're unsure.

1:23.816, managed to sort out my first sector, lose 2 tenths in sector 2 when I had to get out of the throttle to avoid the wall, and tidied up the last sector a bit. Eventually I will get it all right in one lap :D.

The biggest problem is I'm terrible at moving between this and Dirt Rally, whenever I come back to Forza I feel like I have no control any more .

I use it solely as a reference line. I don't really use it as an exact line, I use it for braking points. I also use it to go wide of it on some turns etc. I wouldn't crash if I didn't have it on, I know some people use the markers on the side of the track as reference points. I can't use those, especially in faster cars I get distracted.

This looks exciting :) I did in fact read the OP, but just to get it straight, I must use a completely stock version of the car each week and also the same track. Then I post my fastest time?

Correct, welcome, and good luck! 👍

I wish this game allowed us to just save the best lap replay as seen in the Gran Turismo games. That would be such a convenient feature for those of us that spend a lot of time hot lapping.

The biggest problem is I'm terrible at moving between this and Dirt Rally,

I have the braking line on in Forza, mainly because of similar reasons to Lukas. I am constantly chopping and changing what racing game I play. Some days I will play Assetto, others Dirt Rally (had it on PC since the day the early access version released), iRacing. The list is rather extensive. Stupid thing is though, I only ever have it on in Forza, lol.

Dirt Rally doesn't even have one, so there is no option at all to use one in that game. Assetto Corsa's driving line is utter tripe. The line in Pcars just annoys me, I cant even drive in iRacing with it turned on, and the line in the Codemasters F1 games is too big. Forza is the only game where I use it, and I have done since the day FM1 released. At the same time though, I know I don't need it on; to the point that I ignore it 95% of the time.

And to further prove the point:

So yeh, I wouldn't worry about using the braking line in Forza. Use whatever you feel the most comfortable with, but make sure to only use the racing line as a reference. Using it as the gospel truth for lines and corner speeds in Forza, will make you vastly slower than everyone else.

Sorry I have not been joining in the last 2 weeks. I used to do a lot of drawing and painting till I was about 22, then had to stop for 'reasons'. Just gotten back into it after 9 years of not really doing any, so yeh. The last 2 weeks has seen me buy new sketch pads, new pens, new pencils, new graphic markers (Winsor and Newton Promarkers). I have gotten into drawing so much again, that my boyfriend went out and bought me a brand spanking new Wacom Cintiq 13HD Pen display :D:nervous::D:boggled::odd::D:mischievous::eek::D

So yeh, drawing at the moment has taken over, lol.
