Things are looking tight at the top of the standings at the half way point of the season but there are still a lot of tracks to go. Will Fuji be the beggining of a run of wins for someone?

Feel free to discuss sector times only, but no discussion of final lap times is allowed.

I'll be the first to post up splits then:

LMP

T1 17.883
T2 34.482
T3 53.489

GT1

T1 18.858
T2 36.980
T3 57.029

Still some time left on both. In LMP it was near perfect but then I was a bit wide in the entrance of turns 7 & 9. GT1 was very tidy but felt like I could thrash it some more.

I'm terrible at qualifying here. It seems like missing your marks by the slightest amount causes you either to lose an absurd amount of time, or to find yourself immediately sideways in the grass and heading towards the wall. :grumpy:

18.832 - 36.882 - 56.792

Did a few laps last night, Austin could not be any more serious on loosing time, I've had faster T1 only too loose the time by T2 or T3 :grumpy:

But...
T1 - 17.900
T2 - 34.368
T3 - 53.628

Ditto that. I had plenty of opportunities in GT1 for better runs after nailing turn 1 only to lose it later. Stopped after 20 laps. Like beating a dead horse. Will post T's after I get LMP time done.

edit:

LMP - 18.542 - 36.840 - 56.231

GT1 - 19.616 - 36.332 - 59.004

As you can see lost a ton of time on T2 in the Bentley.

Ah...Fuji Speedway. The place where the Nissan GT-R (R35) was tested by both Nissan and Top Gear. It has the longest straight away of any purpose built track in the world, and the second longest of any track, dwarfed only by the three mile long straight at the Nurburgring. With this air-strip sized straight comes the worst corner on the track. Turn 1, a sharp, increasing radius hairpin. It's killer when you're going 200+ miles an hour. Getting the breaking right for the initial sharp portion of the corner is key. IF done right, you should be able to accelerate through turn 2 and off to turn 3.

Turn 4 (100R) is a troublesome corner, as its width and smoothness and the pace of the first part of the track makes you want to just accelerate through it. But, it's sharper than it seems, and you'll most likely have to at least let off the accelerator to make it around it. The Hairpin at Turn 5 isn't much of an issue, though. it's entering and exiting the corner that causes the most of the problems.

The Chicane or Notch or whatever you want to call it at turn 7 is the final nasty corner. It can be difficult to get the entrance of the corner and the middle part right. Done right, it's shouldn't be much of a problem.

the sweeper combo of Turns 8 and 9 can be taken at extremely high speeds in most cars and one shouldn't have to hit the brakes and should be able to accelerate through it. (wasn't able to do this with the Panoz, but the Beamer entered at about 152mph and exited going 170mph. The Pagani was a lot better, although taking it slower, exiting at about 155mph.)

Anyways, my times are submitted and I will probably see you all on Tuesday. :P

I tested Audi R8 here and did a decent lap in it with T3 of 53.6 .

After that I managed to put together a very solid lap in the Toyota:

T1 17.984
T2 35.069
T3 54.211

EDIT: Submitted

not feeling too confident that I was competitive this week. These increasing radius turns are so difficult. The low-end pull of the Audi R8 may be some help. I am using that boost for all it's worth.

Well I'm happy with that effort :) For those interested here's a vid of my GT1 lap. It's a pretty tidy lap but you can see where the time is left on track. Sorry about the poor quality of the video!

Gotta love the Pixies :dopey:

Congrats on your Daily Double ABud. 👍 Nice run.

SuperShouden:
man, if I had pushed a little harder, I could have beaten modelt in LMP and GT1 and GTsail in GTS...oh well.

I can die a happy man now. Somebody is actually gunning for me. :)

Viperin:I am out of ammo, so I will have to resort to using a Club from now on

You're now 2 points up on me. Our side bet, guys.

I am very satisfied with my time, especially as it was one of the few times I managed to not screw the chicane up totally.
I just loved coming out of that corner and then holding it flat out to the finish line.
Very satisfying.
Well done to everyone, should be a great Race 👍
